*PURE WHITE*

Kace was utterly flabbergasted. Hadn't he had enough of this cruel world? Out of probably 7 billion+ people on earth, fate, being the asshole it was, randomly selected him to be repeatedly tortured time and time again. He wasn't fully recovered from the shock of losing his other half. He wasn't even given enough time to spend with her, giving the fact that they were just newlyweds. Yes, they just celebrated their ceremony of wedlock a few months ago but no, fate, destiny; whatever it may be,didn't think about all that before ruthlessly snatching her away from his hands. She didn't even die an honorable death. Instead, she had to suffer pain; a terrible pain or no, was that pain. He didn't think so. The emotion expressed in her eyes that night of her demise was far beyond human comprehension. But anguish; yes, anguish should be a befitting emotion. Left for him, he could have given into the numerous suicidal thoughts that kept tugging at the back of his mind, but still anytime he wanted to venture into that or even thinking of actualizing the dreadful idea, he would remember her words to him that night.

"Kace, please live, LIVE FOR ME"

He couldn't get that voice out of his cranium but yet it was enough to stop whatever he was planning to do. Enough to keep him going. The sound of an inaudible ruffle as if someone was hurriedly going through something- he didn't know what it was- brought him out of his thoughts. 'So the bastards are still here' he thought as he slowly but steadily opened the front door, leaving his groceries behind.

"Thank God" he mumbled in a whisper, appreciating God for the fact that the front door wasn't alike in behavior to his room's.

Even if he were asleep in the room and someone enters the room, he would instantly wake up from slumber, not at all minding the fact that he 'slept like a log'. The creaking sound of the door was just out of this world. Suddenly, he heard that sound. it was way too familiar. Ofcourse it was the same annoying sound he was just thinking about a few seconds ago. This only meant one thing. Either the he was just entering or he was leaving the room. Whether it was a he or she, he didn't care. This days one couldn't be sure what a woman was capable of. He just wanted to find whoever it was- male or female- and deal ruthlessly with the daring human being. Sneaking into the room- which was the adjoining corridor leading from the front door into the sitting room- he widened his eyes, trying to adjust to the low lighting within the small passage. Scanning through the small room, he could see his wife's baseball bat just by the door. She was a sportsperson and it was her favourite sport, also the last sport she played before her demise. She was even the captain of Manhattan's female baseball team. He could remember going to her last game and as usual, her team won but that was just a few days before she died. He sighed before picking up the familiar object laying helplessly by the wall. ' Why does every single thing have to remind me of you' he grumbled as he slowly trudged forward. 'I can't continue like this' and then,

"What the fuck is this? were we informed wrong?" Kace heard a male voice but didn't catch the wordings vividly. He was a hundred percent sure that it came from his bedroom as he was already half way there. He stealthily crept towards the edge of the door before positioning himself for a clean hit but thought better, he didn't want to unintentionally commit murder. This thought made him remember his wife. She too was unintentionally murdered. He gritted his teeth on the remembrance of this fact. Wait......Did he just hear a grumble? He wasn't sure but it sounded like it came from a second person. Man or Woman, he didn't know? but still it was still a grumble, one couldn't be sure. He just casually brushed it off with a shrug.

"Are u sure Lo...."

Kace, caught in-between the web of his thoughts wasn't even aware of his surroundings until the burglar spoke while about leaving the room. Those simple words were his saver but we're the latter's doom. He would remember to thank the burglar- whomever he was it was- later. Just at the last second, he readjusted his position and harshly flung the bat- which was hanging midair all this while- at his target once he realized that he was almost out. Because of his unsteady focus he lost his aim which was previously the idiot's balls and hit his tummy instead. Well, any of the above will be good but the first would have produced a much better result. The 'idiot' toppled over on the floor and was helplessly rolling around on the marbled floor and clutching his abdomen.

"Fuck" he cursed.

Kace seized the opportunity and pounced on the rolling man with the aim of beating him into a coma- at least he hoped so. He didn't want any cases of 'Had I known' but as he was still carrying out his new mission on the helpless man curled up on the floor who didn't seem to know where the pain he felt now was coming from, a kick was being received by the left side of his head. A huge one in fact. He wobbled to the floor in the next moment. He could vaguely see two men standing in front of him. So he was write. There were more than one person in his house and they were men. What great luck. 'Damn irrational thinking' he thought before his consciousness slipped away.

"uunh, why do I always have to be the beaten one every time? What am I? Bait?" he grumbled, his golden eyes squeezing in pain and his hand still holding his tummy as his partner helped him up.

"Because you talk too much" the second nd man said in a much grimmer voice as his equally golden eyes scanned the entire hall way as if looking for another unknown threat hiding in the corner. The two men were oblivious of the fact that the stubborn man; suspected to be the owner of the apartment, was unconscious.

"No I don't" the first man argued.

"Let's continue our search after that we can deal with him" second instructed leaving no room for arguments.

But just as the two men turned back, their eyes widened in plain horror. The supposedly unconscious man was standing right in front of them.

And his eyes were pure WHITE!!!.
