Chapter 5: Naturally

"What did you say!?"

"It is what it is."

"Grand Elder Ru are you sure about this?"

Inside the spacious hall of the Heavenly Dragon Sect the elder in white who saved Zhao Wei was currently being questioned by his fellow elders and sect leader.

Ru Wong is his name and in his younger days he was the senior brother of the current sect leader. He was also once held the title of the eldest senior brother of the Heavenly Dragon Sect.

The reason he didn't take the position of sect leader despite the support he got from everyone is that he finds the position tiring, boring, and stressful.

He was clear as a sun to the benefits of being the sect leader of this first-rate sect but despite the persuasion of his fellow disciples and master. He remained unbending on his decision.

Besides he was so focused on cultivating at that time so he naturally followed his instinct by giving the seat to Li Quan---his junior brother and the current patriarch of the Heavenly Dragon Sect.

His status in the sect is second only to the patriarch because he was now the Grand Elder of the sect and also because he was respected by everyone from the very bottom of their hearts.

Despite his cold demeanour and attitude, everyone knew deep inside that their Grand Elder Ru who was standing in front of them is a warm-hearted individual.

"It's not something you would do out of a whim...tell me is there anything special about that youth?"

The sect leader questions as he looks deeply into his senior brother's expression and reaction.

"You probably already know the cultivation realm of that boy isn't it patriarch?"

Li Quan stroked his beard as he contemplated the question. After a while, he spoke again.

"Yes, but if it's only for that reason I'm afraid I would not allow your request."

"But! Knowing you senior brother you wouldn't shoot without aiming."

Despite being the sect leader, Li Quan still preferred to address him as a senior brother even though he's now higher on Senior Brother Ru in terms of status.

"I already saw many geniuses like him and there is no shortage of such talents here."

He was not bragging but speaking the truth here since the Heavenly Dragon Sect was widely known in the Canglan Continent as a first-rate sect. They're a powerhouse that no empire or sects underestimate.

Multiple talented individuals and gifted geniuses in their sect were also famous in the outside world. They accept disciples without discrimination regardless of their backgrounds as long as they're talented.

Having the talent and being a genius is the bottom line for their requirements. They have no problems at all with the disciples being arrogant and a little unruly as long as they can prove themselves and do not break any rules of the sect.

Besides even if these geniuses were to fight and quarrel they can settle it in the arena by challenging the other party in a duel.

Grand Elder Ru didn't speak and the elders around him began their discussion.

After a while he began speaking to the sect leader again. Ignoring the heated discussion of the elders around him.

"Have you ever seen a guy fight an opponent with a cultivation base lower by two realms against his enemy?"

"Any individuals would fall under such pressure and eventually die." said the sect leader.

"What do you mean Grand Elder Ru?"

A fat elder in a grey robe asks as he tilts his head in confusion with his eyes slightly narrowed.

"Do you mean..."

Li Quan couldn't believe his conjunction as his sharp eyes widened with bewilderment and excitement.

"Yes he fought a peak core formation realm with his early qi condensation realm and emerge victorious."

"He broke through from Early all the way to Peak Qi Condensation while in a battle with the Blackwind bandits."

"Moreover when I check his body he's only 11 years old today."

Everyone in the meeting hall sucks in a cold breath as they listen to him.

"His experience in battles was top-notch and his decisive actions is spot on that even I was shocked."

Breaking through while battling?

Is this a joke?

The elders once again broke into a heated discussion.

"I want to take him as a disciple."

Ru Wong said as he observed the reactions of his fellow elders and the opinion of the patriarch.

"I don't doubt your words senior brother but..."

A beam of light shoots out of Grand Elder Ru's palm as he raises and aims it at the sect leader.

Li Quan catches it and slowly opened his hands. He saw a bronze storage ring with a bit of dried blood on it.

He only looked at it for a moment before finalizing his decision. Looking at his senior brother he tossed the storage ring back to him.

Grand Elder Ru stored it once again on his own storage ring.

The elders keep on looking between the two of them and waiting for the final verdict.

"Senior brother I apologise if I offended you just now."

"It's nothing." Elder Ru calmly stated.

Patriarch Li Quan didn't doubt his senior brother but the ability and credibility of his soon to be a disciple.

After all, it's been a while since the Gentle Tempest of the Heavenly Dragon Sect took in a disciple. Once news of this spread to the disciples, the whole sect would be thrown unto uproar.

Many disciples tried their luck to be Grand Elder Ru's disciple by kneeling at the foot of the Swaying Woods Peak but none of them ever succeeded in catching the attention of the great master.

Only his direct disciple--Lu Fang--dwell on the Swaying Woods Peak as his sole pupil. Now that there is another soon-to-be disciple the entire sect would be lively.

The problem is that Elder Ru wants to admit Zhao Wei directly without passing through the entrance test of the sect. Which is not a problem and also a problem at the same time.

It's not a problem in the sense that making an exception is not difficult since it's Elder Ru that asked for it. But the problem is that the upper seats of the sect would receive harsh criticism from the disciples if they show 'favouritism' right off the bat.

Patriarch Li Quan pinch the space between his eyebrows because he knew that this is definitely troublesome.

"Okay fine I won't trouble you all. I would listen to your arrangements Patriarch Li."

Elder Ru said calmly while standing there in the centre of the hall like a sword. Straight and sharp with both of his hands behind his back.

Sect Leader Li breathed out a sigh of relief as he realised that his senior brother is not being stubborn right now.

"I agree with your request..."

"But!"

The elders cried out in unison.

"But he must prove himself first!"

Phew! The elders felt relief wash over them when they heard the follow-up statement of the Patriarch.

Ru Wong's lips slightly curled up and said.

"Naturally."
