Time Fluctuations

Hovering cars were whizzing by the sidewalk as a dashing young man silently whistled, his white hair made him look like another typical youth. He also rocked some white eyes they had a small inkling of rebelliousness within. Many of these cosmetics are, well fake.

People from all walks of life had started to wear the same pair of hair and eyes; the same color as a bullet that kills vampires, silver. When one looked at his shirt not only would they not see a shirt they would see a black trench coat which looked straight out of a 90s' action film, hood included.

Another youth suddenly shouted toward him, "Edward! How yer' been?!"

Edward suddenly put on a pained look and said, "Lenny, nice to see you! I've been great."

Seemingly unaffected by his look Lenny asked, "Literally no one picks a computer science major like you've gone and done, I still don't understand! It's all about software engineering now."

Edward sighed, "Why do you always bring up university stuff? Don't you smell the spring flowers? That means it's spring break! I don't want to be bothered with that stuff right now."

They continued walking for a while in silence for some reason Lenny had kept following him until he burst out laughing, "Ok, Mr. Vrien!" He then ran off.

[What in the world is wrong with that fellow today?] Edward couldn't help but wonder, but his thoughts were quickly cut short by a feminine voice calling for help, "Help!"

[A good Samaritan like myself should always help the people in need!] Edward quickly found the location of the shout, it was a dark alleyway which gave him goosebumps, "I've got to push through!"

As soon as he got into the alley a man with something akin to a gun was aiming toward a young lady. [I'm only helping because mugging someone isn't right!] Edward first convinced himself that he wasn't doing it to get extra points.

The man yelled at the lady, "Gim' ma' all ye' mon'!" Edward almost laughed, "I've heard that line hundreds of times, all across the country!"

While the girl panicked Edward slowly approached the man from behind, thankfully the man seemed to have no sense of threat as Edward appeared behind him. Strangely the gun in the hands of the man reflected zero light, Edward guessed that it was probably fake.

Whack!

Edward threw his entire body behind his punch to the back of the man's head, "He's going to be out for a-" the man suddenly swung his arm backward! Edward quickly jumped backward, "I've been in enough street fights that blow should've knocked you out!" He began to think that this man in front of him was taking one of those new synthetic drugs; when Edward looked into his eyes, he was unable to see anything.

He didn't have any chance of thinking as the man followed up with a multitude of attacks. Blows kept being exchanged until the other party seemingly remembered something. The man jumped back and took out his gun, pointing it toward Edward, "That thing wouldn't be real by any chance would it?"

While Edward looked at the serious face of the man, who was pointing a 'fake' gun at him, he couldn't help but have doubts appear.

The man pulled the trigger.

Click!

Edward sighed in relief.

Bang!

He widened his eyes in shock; he moved his hand to his chest just to feel a hot liquid flowing through his fingers. "It was real!" He fell to his knees and looked up only to see a myriad of luminescent balls of light where the man was just standing; it was as if he dematerialized.

Dark clouds started appearing overhead, Boom!

A yellow light came from the skies it was exactly like lightning. Edward didn't have the luxury to pay attention to the world as he slowly bled out on the ground while he listened to the girl's hysteria.

The girl vowed in her heart to give him a proper burial as she pulled out a smartphone trimmed with diamonds.

Suddenly the yellow light enveloped Edward making a gruesome sizzling sound. When it faded Edward was gone too, in his place was a pile of ash.

Somewhere far away from earth at an unknown time, a booming voice echoed through winding halls, "Those pesky humans have messed with time again Gary!"

"What?" Gary came running through the halls into a room filled with monitors, he looked at one that read, "Time Fluctuations," and there was a small red blip on it.

"Garret, what are we going to do this time? They set up a beacon!" Gary asked.

Garret though for a bit, "This is truly egregious! Should we contact the god of time and space?"

Gary refused that idea, "Absolutely not! We can't bother him when he's on vacation do you have a death wish?"

Finally, it seemed that Garret came up with a solution as his body slid across the floor, "How about we just use another human?"
