Chptr 24 Recruitment

An hour after the announcement, various players crowded Red Flag Town that created a traffic jam. This pissed off the low level players since it took them a lot of time and efforts to be squeezed out of the crowd.

At the entrance of the Red Flag Town town hall, Drizzle Sizzle was standing in front and shouted, "To all tankers, only those qualified can be recruited. The last man standing wins, whoever makes it out to the Sky Kingdom within two hours shall be recruited by me."

Every heavy class who were tanks enthusiastically started their journey with vigor and haste. Some used their mounts while travelling while others cheated by using the teleportation site. Only a few took the hardest part - that was by foot.

Meanwhile, the other classes who weren't part of the recruitment started to pk those tankers. Some ended in failure while others were able to get decent items to sell. This scenario created an outrage that became an all out war amongst every class.

As for the instigator, Unknown was inside one of the private Arena duel platforms of the Sky Kingdom together with the other members of the guild except Drizzle Sizzle who was busy administrating the recruitment and Gem who was still recuperating. They were waiting for Blood's arrival. When Blood arrived, Unknown instructed him to prepare for some duels.

In the nick of time, two hours passed and Drizzle Sizzle was at the entrance of Sky Kingdom waiting for the qualified tankers. Much to her surprise, there were actually thirty who passed. She was expecting less than ten because lots of players started hunting those who joined the recruitment.

Anyway, she still did her job and led them towards the Arena. She let them enter one by one in the private duel platform where Blood was waiting. Players entering wouldn't be able to know the audience watching them as they could only see the one who was in the duel platform.

"The second round of the recruitment is to either kill me or make me surrender. We will fight equally having the same stats and only have our own respective basic skills to use. Please confirm if you are ready," Blood explained after the first player entered. And within just a minute, the first match ended with no thrill.

This scenario happened for twelve times until a decent opponent emerged, it was a level 20 knight named Iron Bash. Despite being new to the game, he was able to last for a whole three minutes against Blood who was considered a Ranker.

"You barely pass, if you want to continue on the recruitment. Please wait outside," Blood merrily commented. Iron Bash nodded and really waited outside.

When Iron Bash went out, he stayed behind Drizzle Sizzle. This made the other players curious, "How did it go?"

"I barely passed, but the opponent inside told me to wait here," Iron Bash replied with nervousness. He wasn't used to being questioned by lots of people.

For the next few matches, it also ended the same: boring. Only three left and Blood was getting lazier due to his opponents being so weak. Not until a lady paladin entered the stage. This was the paladin that was abandoned during the dungeon quest in the Azure empire.

In just a few exchanges against her opponent, her sword was pointed towards the neck of Blood. One wrong move and Blood would be done, "I was careless, you win! Kindly wait outside for the last stage of recruitment."

Outside, the lady paladin named Once Jewel also stayed behind. The other two knights left were very nervous knowing that they would have a higher percentage of failing. And reality hurts, they really failed big time.

"Congratulations to the two of you for surviving the second stage of the recruitment!" Drizzle Sizzle congratulated the two and let them enter once again inside the private duel platform. This time, they could see the members of the Forgotten guild.

"Hello there, congratulations for reaching the last stage of this recruitment! My name is Unknown and I am the guild leader of the Forgotten guild. Why forgotten? Have you ever experienced a point in your life where you were forgotten? Like you never existed? Let me tell you why I created this Forgotten guild. One simple reason, to never be forgotten! To create a name for ourselves so we shall always be remembered!" Ajy vigorously explained. "Now, let me ask you, do you want to be recognized? Do you want to be remembered? Do you want to stand out from your peers? This is your chance! Let us hear your story."

Upon hearing those, it ignited a fire from Once Jewel's heart, the desire to be in the spotlight once again. "Do we really have a chance to be in the spotlight?"

"Do you?" Unknown asked mockingly.

"I tried twice, at first it was a success but the second, I tried everything but don't know why I can't succeed." Once Jewel reasoned.

"HAHAHA! Have you really tried?" Unknown laughed while hinting at her to try and join them.

Once Jewel got his point but she still deliberated. Iron Bash on the other hand raised his hand nervously, "I.. I want to join!"

"And why do you want to join?" Unknown was testing him.

"I.... I... because... it's.. uhmm.. I.. " Seeing that he was the center of attention, he was very nervous and couldn't think straight.

"Why don't you just type it out and send the file to our guild chat?" Unknown suggested since he knew that Iron Bash wasn't used to public speaking.

"While Iron Bash is busy typing out and Once Jewel is still deliberating, why don't we share our forgotten stories? Let me start," Unknown cleared his throat as he shared his story. He started the story when he was still studying, his effort in courting Mira Goldwyn, him being accused of raping Mira, his name to be forgotten by the Goldwyn family members since it was a taboo to them to even mention it, learning that he had a son with Mira and lastly, the promise he made in front of his son's tomb.

Alodia was next and told her story, the time she met her ex-boyfriend, when she met the real identity of Unknown, her ex-boyfriend's affair with another woman, her ex-boyfriend forgetting her like she never existed despite the many pleadings she did to him and lastly, why Unknown was very interested in her which was actually a lie.

Unloved Woman also shared her and her daughter's story. Then next was Lost Soul who cried upon recalling her pasts.

Hearing those stories, Blood also decided to tell his. He began when he was born without a father, his mom explained that his father abandoned her when she was pregnant and eventually forgot her, he grew up learning that his father has forgotten them, his mother had another child from another man, his father learnt that he had a son, abused by his father, working under his father and how his father killed his mother.

Lastly, it was Auntie Lave that spoke with a hoarse voice upon listening to their stories, "As for me and my grand daughter, we were never forgotten. But why are we here? Because a certain individual called Unknown still remembered me and I am here to ensure that my granddaughter will never experience that thing in her lifetime ever. Also, I'm here to be an elder to all of you to guide and nurture you in this endeavor. Maybe in that way, I might still be remembered by you lots even when I perish in this cruel world."

After hearing those, Once Jewel was inspired and can't help but also tell her story. She was once a singer and an actress holding the title Jewel of the East. She was being loved, remembered and welcomed everywhere she went until she rejected the offer of her manager to sleep with a very rich fan. That was the start of her career downgrading. That rich fan ruined her reputation, accusing her of a whore who only knew how to sell her body so she could climb up the ladder of becoming a star. He blamed her for the various accidents during her concert stating that she was cursing her fans and auctioning her body during the concert.

That wasn't the end, this rich man used his connection to assault her, ending the life of her parents and he told the media that she hired those men to assault her but was actually planning to kill her parents. Then she was all alone in life, even her friends and relatives despised her. She tried to go back to her peak but she was denied until the very rich man offered her an offer, that was to sleep with him and he would resolve everything.

Instead of agreeing, she hid and went to a very remote place that could keep her away from that rich man. Five years of hiding when she went back to the city, everything about her glory was forgotten. If people mentioned his name, they will only remember her as the scum of the entertainment world.

"Ah at long last! I was destined to meet my crush!" Unknown laughed while he offered her a hug, "Come now let's hug my idol, my crush and maybe enjoy the warmth of each other later."

"You're so insensitive!" Drizzle Sizzle said after she hit Unknown with her basic attack. The others laughed at him even Once Jewel giggled.

"See? That was my intention, to make her giggle at least!" Unknown winked at them full of pride that made them gloat.

"Okay, I'll join you guys!" Once Jewel decisively interrupted.
