Prologue

In the year 2030.

A magic fanatic called Salvadore Bennet discovered a mystical book said to grant unimaginable powers after much research.

Ancient cultures and societies revered the book and referred to it as the "Book of Life." They kept it hidden to preserve its powers and keep humanity safe from itself.

"I finally found it!! 25 years of research finally paid off! AHAHAHAHA. " A 50-year-old man laughed hysterically in a cave hidden deep in the Himalayas.

Salvadore researched ways to bring magic to this world for the last 25 years, constantly mocked and humiliated in the researcher's society because of it. His colleagues considered his research delusional garbage, and his friends stopped contacting him.

It cost a lot, but this single discovery was about to make him the most successful researcher in the history of archeology. He already confided in his wife and left all the written research in her care.

It contained all the information about the "Book of Life", like its location, the articles mentioning it throughout history, and its powers. He told her to release his research to the world in case something happens to him.

"Clara, I did it!!! Believing in me was not a mistake. This will show all those bastards who I truly am. " Salvadore said as he approached the podium in the middle of the cave.

Strange runes covered the stone podium that held an old book, which Salvadore assumed to be the treasure he is looking for. He walked closer and carefully opened the book with trembling hands.

"This will open Earth to a world of new possibilities. This will make me the king of the new world. " Salvadore's face brightened with a smile as he glimpsed at the contents of the book.

"HUH?!! WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?! " The book, however, contained nothing. It was just a bunch of empty pages.

"I celebrated too soon..... " Salvadore said as he plopped on the ground. He risked his life and bet on his reputation for this moment. But it was all to find an empty book.

However, before Salvadore could wallow in his sorrow any further, the book started glowing in a blue hue and characters started appearing on its pages.....

The year 2147.

Earth drastically changed in the past 100 years.

Most humans awakened to the power of magic and received immense power. The ones who awakened were called "High Humans" and regarded as superior beings.

They received special treatment because of their ability to fight back the hordes of monstrous beings that infested the planet and killed millions of lives.

The trigger for what is now called the "Awakening" was none other than Salvadore Bennet's discovery of the "Book of Life" a hundred years ago.

His discovery granted humanity the blessing of superpowers and inflicted the curse of monsters on earth. The moment his wife, Clara Bennet, revealed his discovery, the planet shook to its core.

Governments and conglomerates started their pursuit of the book using every resource they had. Powerful individuals used their strength to form big guilds, claim the book, and fulfill their dreams of greater power, but the book was nowhere to be found...

After its initial discovery, the "Book of Life" no longer existed in the cave, leaving Salvadore's research as the only way to predict its next location.
