Julia looked at Professor Nina, who nodded, and said, "We do. We want to learn, level up, become stronger and then learn how to fight so you won't have to carry our burden."

'Become stronger and then learn how to fight?' Luke gave them a praising glance. Given how dangerous the world was now, if they, being weak, tried to learn how to fight, they would most likely lose their lives in the process.

If they didn't want to die, they either had to have him guard them, which wasn't feasible because they couldn't keep him to themselves, or… they could first become stronger than the opponents they were going to fight against to learn fighting.
