Everyone had been paying attention to all the things Ezra was saying, so much so that no one realized that in this whole discussion, Ezra had not mentioned the word "friends" even once.

His mind subconsciously refused to allow him to say that, and so he had been toggling with the words "comrades" and "club members."

But still, one person noticed, and yes, it is who you think, the one and only Violet. Her observation skills were normally too high.

She could count a lot of places in this discussion where Ezra was supposed to say "friends," but he used another word to replace it.
