62 A Maid With Negative Karma ( Part III)

"Who are you?"

The first person to actually answer to the appearance of the floating woman was Devassa. The violet snake's eyes shined with grey light and the armor of energy around her body started to twist like a sea during a tempest.

The flying woman didn't respond to the question, and moved her gaze towards Darkscale. Seeing that the snake was only looking back at her in silence, she then focuses her eyes on Star Leaf.

The green haired beauty looked still a bit shocked by the sudden appearance of the MAID, but that didn't last much longer. The girl didn't understand much about the functioning of the AI, so she just assumed that it was one of her abilities. After recovering very rapidly from the sudden shock, she introduced the hovering figure without giving any information about the Blue Cave. "This is Carelia... she is an artificial intelligence"

Star Leaf's voice was proud, almost as she was a noblewoman showing her new jewel to her two friends. Which, in some sense, she was.

Winter Leaf didn't seem to understand what an artificial intelligence was, as she looked confused towards the violet snake next to her and sent her a small wave of red energy. Both Darkscale and Star Leaf could sense it, as Winter Leaf didn't even try to hide her communication with her companion.

Daressa didn't immediately respond to her companion, pointing her gaze over the flying woman. At first, she seemed calmly evaluating the situation, looking curiously towards the hovering human. Only after several seconds, she started talking, without moving her gaze from the long-haired Carelia.

"What's an Artificial Intelligence? Winter Leaf, that's very simple: it's a crafted servant, made by artificers and array masters that can take over some functions of complex treasures and runes".

The explanation attracted the interest of Darkscale. It was evident that she was answering to the secret message sent to her by Winter Leaf, but why she was doing so in a public way?

"Artificial Intelligences are objects, and yes objects are like all things under the Heavens. Do you remember what I told you about all things under the Heavens, Winter? They all have Karma."

Daressa was continuing her speech, her violet eyes still glued to the flying figure.

Darkscale could feel that there was something that wasn't ok in the words of the violet serpent, but he couldn't tell what it was. He started to circulate his energy in a very complex manner inside of his body, following a different manipulation from that he used to activate the Heavenly Battleground Technique. A white fog started to form inside his mouth.

"However..."

Her eyes changed abruptly, burning with a dangerous light. "Do you think that I'm stupid or what?" she screamed, summoning a large quantity of energy.

The violet snake murmured rapidly some unintelligible words, scattering a fog of grey energy all around herself and Winter Leaf.

Darkscale maintained his calm demeanor, but the silver armor around him doubled and he darted away from the grey energy created by Daressa.

"An object with Negative Karma? Do you think I'm a moron?" hissed the grey energy user.
