6 CHAPTER 5
Gideon woke up with a yawn and sat up while looking at his surroundings. Seeing that he was still in the cave, he released a sigh of relief.
"So it wasn't a dream." Gideon said and sat up. He removed some of the cooked chicken from his inventory and ate and drank water afterwards. He then did some stretches before putting on his vest.
"Okay, what's on the agenda for today." Gideon said before pondering.
"Okay, I'll try and level up some more and see if I can get some better gear, and also increase my food supply." He said before walking out of the cave.
It was fairly early and the sun was still rising, and the air was cool.
"What a nice day, you don't get stuff like this in the city." Gideon said as he walked towards the lake, he planned on ambushing a few astral beasts and leveling up at the lake since that is where beasts would go to a lot.
Soon, he reached the lake and saw quite a few monsters taking a drink. He found some of the weaker ones and make them his target.
A few large turtles were taking a drink. They were about the size of a car and their shells had spikes on them and they were dark green in color they, were called giant killer turtles.
Suddenly, a figure with a dagger jumped on the back of one of the turtles, it was Gideon. The one that got jumped on immediately felt, Gideon on its back and tried to shake him of, but Gideon gripped the spikes on its back firmly.
Gideon then casted poison enhancement on his dagger with the corrosive poison and began to slahs the shell of the turtle. At first is wasn't doing much damage, but as time went on, the corrosive poison began to take effect and started melting through the shell of the turtle, causing it to shake it's large body even faster.
Eventually, Gideon managed to get through the shell and then he switched to his normal poison and slashed at the soft flesh of the turtle like mad, causing it to let out a loud cry. Gideon's poison soon began to take effect and the turtle started slowing down. Soon after , it dropped to the ground, dead.

"Nice, now into the next one." Gideon said before continuing the same process for some of the other turtles, then he received the notification.
[Ding, Host has leveled up.]
"Great, system show me my stats." Gideon ordered and then his stat window popped up.

Soon,the task was completed and Gideon saw the change in his stats.

"I guess I'm becoming an all rounder, well it's better than having an obvious weakness, system, can you do anything with these turtles shells." Gideon asked.
[Yes Host, system can make shields from them] The system answered. But then Gideon had an odd expression on his face.
"I know I just said I'm an all rounder but I'm an assassin so shields are not my style, is there anything else you can make?" Gideon asked.
[No Host.] The system replied.
"Well that's a shame, well at least I have enough food to last me a while." Gideon said a bit disappointed but not dispirited. He then began to skin the turtles quickly since there were beasts around.
[Ding, new skill "Knife Mastery" lvl1: User is very adept in knife and dagger handling skills.] The system alerted.
Gideon saw the skill and immediately noticed that skinning the turtles became much easier and he did it with much more precision.
Soon, he had more that 2 hundred kilograms worth of meat.
One might ask why he eats it even though it was tainted by his poison. Well since it was his, the poison has no effect on him, so he can it it just fine even if others can't.
"I may have not been able to get better gear, but the harvest was still pretty good." Gideon remarked.
"But I still want better stuff." He said before looking around for more prey.
However, just as he was about to pick a target, the smell of rotten flesh and death entered his nose and he felt danger from his side.
Immediately, he casted poison enhancement on his dagger and slashed at his left, and a loud *CLANG* followed and Gideon took several steps before stopping, his arm was aching from the hit, but when he saw what hit him, his body tensed up.
It was an undead creature, it had lanky arms and legs, a small head, pale white skin, and was over 2 meters tall, it's long lanky arms had white claws that were half a meter long. It was a bone claw, an initial intermediate level monster.
The bone claw looked at Gideon with it's pitch black eyes, it's small torn up mouth making weird clicking noises.
'Can I kill this thing?' Gideon thought nervously, but then the next second, he smiled. He felt his blood pumping and his heart racing, he was getting excited.
'Poison Augmentation.' He chanted, and then his body was covered in a faint green light and he felt his body become a stronger.
'Poison enhancement, corrosion.' And his dagger also became covered in a green light.
Then suddenly, the bone claw bursted from where it was incredibly fast and reached Gideon in an instant and struck forward with it's claw.
Gideon Ducked under the strike and slashed at the bone claw's stomach, but then the bone claw used it's other hand to block the attack and Gideon swiftly jumped back.
As he did, he sent two poison slashes at the bone claw which managed to counter both of them with it's claws.
Gideon then rushed back in and struck with his dagger. The bone claw was about to parry, but just as their attacks met, Gideon pivoted his right foot and spun, the bone claw missing him by an inch, and then used the momentum he got and slashed the bone claw's chest.
Black blood gushed out of the wound and the bone claw let out a shriek in anger before rushing at Gideon again faster than before.
Gideon was momentarily startled by the increase in it's speed but suddenly smirked. Soon enough, the wound began to melt and was starting to reach the bone claw's internal organs.
Gideon then started dodging and parrying more of the bone claw's attacks, though some injuries did make their way into his body, but he kept his cool.
After exchanging numerous blows, the bone claw had visibly slowed down.
'This is my chance.' Gideon thought and rushed the bone claw again.
The bone claw struck out but instead of Gideon parrying, he directly jumped into the air, startling the monster.
Gideon then sent two consecutive poison slashes at the bone claw which wasn't able to react fast enough to the attack.
The slashes hit, one slicing into its torso, and the other hitting it's neck. The bone claw stood for a second before dropping to the ground, dead.
[+200 exp] The system alerted and Gideon fell on the ground.
"Holy shit, that was stressful." He said exhausted.
Reluctant to part with the floor, Gideon got up and approached the dead bone claw and removed the claws from it's hands.
"System, can you make anything with these?" Gideon asked expectantly.
[Yes Host, a dagger.] The system confirmed.
"Great, make it please." Gideon ordered.
"[Ding, creating... Task completed. "Bone dagger" has been created.] Immediately, a pale white dagger appeared in Gideon's left hand. It was the same length as his mithril dagger and the blade was also slightly curved, the handle had a nice grip and it was quite light.
Gideon swung it a few times and nodded in approval.
"This dagger is pretty nice and sharp." He remarked.
"Now I need a creature that is nice and small." Gideon said as he looked around and found a target.

Gideon returned to his cave while holding three unconscious horned rabbits in his hands.
He set them on the floor and began to think.
'After my fight with the bone claw, I've reused that I need more moves in my arsenal, so I think I'll create a poison that paralyzes and the neurotoxin.'
He then once again use his poison manipulation and the green liquid formed in his palm. He then made some adjustments to it's consistency and changed some more things.
The just as he finished, the first horned rabbit woke up, it looked around and spotted Gideon and charged at him.
Gideon then poured the poison on the rabbit when it got close. The poison hit it and then almost immediately, the rabbit lost control of it's body and fell on the floor, unable to move.
"It's still alive but it can't move, great."
[Ding, Host has created a new skill "Paralytic Poison" lvl1: Unless target has strong poison resistance or is stronger than user, target will be paralyzed for 5 minutes (cost 5 AP).] The system alerted.
"Great, now into the next thing." Gideon said as he grabbed the rabbit and broke it's neck without hesitation and started working on the next thing.
"Neurotoxins directly attack the brain and can cause it to fail, create hallucinations, or make one go crazy." Gideon said and once again stretched out his hand and formed the poison in his palm and changed it once again.
Soon the next horned rabbit woke up and charged at Gideon who once again sprayed it with the new poison.
The horned rabbit suddenly started attacking the air seemingly hitting nothing.
[Ding, Host has created a new skill "Neurotoxin" lvl1: Unless target has strong poison resistance or is stronger than user, target will enter a hallucinating state for five minutes (cost 5 AP)]
"Okay then, last one." Gideon said as he killed the rabbit as well.
"Poison gas is very light and loose molecules that can be easily blown about by wind." Gideon theorized and made the poison again, but this time, a faint green mist formed in his hand.
Then the last rabbit woke up and charged at him, then Gideon stretched his palm and the gas flew towards the rabbit which unknowingly inhaled the gas.
In a few seconds, the rabbit dropped to the ground and died.

"Great I'm now done. Its still a bit early so I'll go out again, but I'll rest for a little bit." Gideon said as he brought out some food and began to eat.
