So far, Baal was confident that this combat technique would pose a huge difficulty for the siblings and they would need more than five days to master it, and he was correct. Just not as much as he wished.
*BOOOM*
Gideon's daggers impacted with Victoria's fists resulting into a large shockwave that caused the adamantium below them to cave in ever so slightly.
The two didn't stop there however as they continuously exchanged blows without any sort of fancy tricks. The only thing was that they were using the layering technique, and they were able to now create three layers without loosing their concentration.
The duo's arms became blurs as they released torrents of attacks on each other, causing green and purple sparks to fly everywhere.
'They'll probably need more time to master it, moreover, they can't use it on their bodies and spells at the same time. But why are they learning it so damn quickly?' Baal thought feeling frustrated by the fact that the only thing that was able to slow down the duo's rate of advancement was one of his strongest techniques, and they were still breezing through it like it was nobody's business.
'Well, whatever, the stronger they get, the better for us anyway.' Baal shook his head before looking at the duo once more.
Gideon and Victoria's bodies became streaks of light that glided along the surface of the adamantium and constantly clashed with one another, creating massive shockwave that caused the adamantium to tremble, though, Baal was completely unaffected by it.
Victoria backed off and bought herself a single second, long enough for her to prepare and condense another layer unto her gauntlet before punching forward at Gideon releasing a huge beam of purple fist force. However, when the fist force reached Gideon, he expertly used his dagger to lightly tap the side of the fist which deflected it to the side, causing him no damage.
Victoria didn't let up though as she immediately rushed towards Gideon and reached his front before unleashing a hurricane of punches towards him.
It was at this moment that Gideon's feet blurred as he left dozens of afterimages, expertly utilizing his mirage step to evade the blows.
Seeing that her attacks didn't work, Victoria tried to retreat, however, Gideon's hands blurred as once again, Victoria was trapped inside a net of dagger slashes.
But this time, Victoria rushed forward and with some great precision, released punches towards the slashed in front of her and broke through the encirclement just before it completely surrounded her.
The moment they were close to one another again, they both layered their legs and swung them at each other, perfectly meeting in the middle.
*BANG*
The impact once again generated a massive shockwave, but the two didn't let up and once again unleashed fierce attacks on one another, none of them backing down.
Naturally, they weren't just sparring for the sake of it and we're using the spar as an opportunity to truly integrate the layering technique into their fighting styles to the point of it becoming instinctual.
Slowly but surely, the two of them were becoming more and more proficient in using the technique at three layers as well as becoming more comfortable in using it.
Eventually, they had reached the point that they could execute the technique without any issue, so they decided to step it up.
"Alright, let's use four layers now." Gideon announced after the two had come to a pause and Victoria nodded.
They both created an additional layer and added it with the previous three. Their proficiency in creating the layers was good enough for them to create on in less than a second. Though, creating them and using them were two completely different cases as the moment they added the additional layers, their brows furrowed.
Regardless, they began sparring once again, although, their movements were a bit clumsy and hesitant.
This was due to the fact that they weren't accustomed to using found layers, so they were struggling to do so while diverting their concentration to the spar. But as usual, they were progressing, slowly but surely.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Not bad you two, your making tangible progress." Baal praised as the two wolfed down the food in front of them as they sat down cross legged on the platform.
The food from the demons were very unique and flavorful, with all sorts of odd animals and beasts that they hadn't seen before, but liked a lot.
"By the way sir, can I ask you something?" Gideon asked after finishing his food and Baal waved his hand.
"Sure." Upon hearing the approval, Gideon asked his question.
"What's the relationship between you and the others?" Gideon asked the question due to the level of closeness and interaction between the five leaders. The fact that they also had their own house somewhere in the wilderness suggested how close they actually were.
Baal was a bit surprised by the question before he gave a slight smile and answered.
"Well, we've actually been friends for a very long time now." Hearing the answer, the siblings nodded as they expected the answer and waited for Baal to continue.
"Basically, the five of us were a party when we were younger. More specifically, we were the heroes at that time." Baal explained and the duo's eyes widened as they didn't expect the concept of parties and heroes to be a thing on this planet.
"We met during a banquet at this castle, well, all of us besides Teran who we met later. Lin, Sia and I could be considered royalty while Draven is the son of a high ranking individual from a human kingdom while the rest of us were royalty. Anyway, they basically brought us there to arrange a marriage between Lin and I and do the same with Draven and Sia. After all, the children of heroes would be incredibly talented." Baal stopped and The duo nodded again.
"So what happened after that?" Victoria asked with intrigue and Baal gave a cheeky grin.
"Well, we ran away."
