2 CHAPTER 2: Painted with blood

All students stared at each other in disbelief, some where starting to fear for their own safety, and at the same time his story was far from believable.

"So you finally got ride of your girlfriend and now you are saying she was killed by this so called monster, hilarious isn't it." Dexter said laughing hysterical.

"Will you shut up Dexter! And stop being an insensitive freak, our classmate needs us and you do nothing besides making useless jokes. What if everything he saw is real!" Ace yelled.

Dexter scratched the back of his head to hide the humiliation on his face, the whole class was now filled with whispers.

No matter how hard I tried to believe it, all of this sounded like a joke. Katie and I where once childhood friends, we always played together. We stopped talking to each other when she became arrogant and started acting bitchy.

Sigh. 'She's my neighbour anyway, I need to find out the truth, then mybe all this will make sense.' With that thought in mind I stood out of my chair, walking towards Murphy I could feel everyone's gaze stabbing my back.

"Can you come and show me her body." I demanded.

Murphy tried to open his mouth while wiping his tears, but I grabbed his hand and pulled him out of the class, other students followed us including Layla, Ace and a few of Katie's friends.

"Kean! you can now let my hand go and I will show you where she is, it's not like I'm going to run away."

Murphy pulled his hand from my grip and led the way, we paced in the hallway until the store room was on sight. He froze and pointed at the door with a shacking finger, we gave each other glances before proceeding to the door.

The stench of blood invaded the intire area, everyone's facial expression was now twisted in disgust.

Staring intently I could see blood peeking under the door.

I gulped dry saliva.

I was freaked out.

My pusle was racing but I gave myself courage and held the door nob gripping it tight, I Pushed the door and peeked inside, it was dark with little light illuminating from the small window, I kept pushing the door while others where gulping in fear behind me.

Everyone gasped at the scene, the floor was painted with blood, Katie's body who's Murphy claimed to be in here was no where to be found.

Murphy pushed everyone out of the way "I don't understand? The body was right here when I left."

"You think this might be a prank." someone in the crowd whisperd.

"The blood is real you can smell it.. Mybe it's from an animal or something." The other one whispered back

Isla went to Murphy poking his back. "let's not forget that this lad right here is in the acting club."

Murphy immediately went on defensive mode "Guys please believe me, this is real, I can't explain why her body isn't here but that thing might be out there probably killing someone else by now!!"

No one said a word because we where staring at Isla who went right next to the blood, took out her phone, and started shooting selfies while making sure that the blood on the floor was visible in the background, and doing her weird lip poses, sticking out her tongue and other stuff.

Wow this girl was crazy on another level.

Isla was very rich, since her family owned 30% of the industries in the country.

She had pink hair which was obviously dyed, her natural hair was black, she was avarage in height and had a slim body with nice curves.

Not to mantion Isla had the audacity to came and ask me.

"which is better Hashtag solving a murder mystery or blooded."

"Whatever you think is better." I replied while turning the other side

She rolled her eyes. " Talk about being cold, anyway this is gonna be so viral, I bet I will get millions of likes."

Isla started jumping up and down like an excited little kid who just received a new toy.

"If this is a prank Murphy it's not funny, how could you joke about someone's death! Don't ever do that again." With that said. I turned back and everyone now was staring at Murphy with annoyance.

Walking in the corridor Murphy was still trying to convince everyone that he was telling the truth until a loud growl echoed making us freeze in our steps.

Everyone glared in front with alert in our eyes, a shadow creeped out of the corner, it kept growing. We waited in anticipation at the figure, the person finally came into view and looked in our directions before turning and walking towards us while stumbling.

"Why the heck is Katie walking like that? Is she part of the prank too."

Katie kept walking towards us, as she was getting closer, we all got cold feet. Her guts where spilling out, one of her fingers missing and her throat was half eaten.

Some started to walk back Slowly while facing forward, Freya was the only one who seemed too stunned to even move, Katie growled while her pace kept increasing.

"Freya! get back, I don't think that's still Katie, that thing looks dangerous we should run and tell the teachers while we Still got time!" Ace yelled

"Okay that's gross." Katie's friend Amanda immediately threw up her breakfast, while we where distrusted by another unpleasant sight to see. Freya was cought off guard by Katie as she jumped and grabbed her by the throat, pinning her down.

Freya tried pressing her forearm on Katie's neck so she doesn't get bitten by the blood thirsty creature, she was slowly getting overpowered as undead Katie possessed abnormal strength, everyone stood there like their legs where glued on the floor, this was truly a nightmare.

I found it hard to believe that Katie was dead, but this shit I'm seeing now! I didn't know how to react.

I was scared to death that my body felt numb and I couldn't move.

Ace was the first to snap out of the shock.

Freya was getting chocked so hard that her eyes started to roll backwards and she loosened her grip.

This was Katie's turning point as she was set to rip off her face with her teeth, in a Split of a second Ace took a fire extinguisher on the wall and knocked Katie on the head. Freya pulled away from Katie screaming with a little spilt of blood on her Face.

"let's get out of here, it might wake up." Ace helping her stand, Freya Stood there like a lost puppy, not moving an inch her whole body trembling as tears coverd her face.

"What happened to Katie, why is she like this".

I finally regained my composure.

"She looked dead at the same time possessed with rage to kill and eat his victim, guys sounds like she is a zombie."

everyone stared at me with shock but they knew what I said was the only thing that seemed to make sense now.

Freya and other female classmates who were Friends with Katie burst into tears.

"let's go quietly before I throw up too!" Isla demanded.

We immediately started running heading to our class, I'm sure they is a teacher it's Miss Johnson subject now, that Geography teacher never miss her lessons.

Even if she's sick!

We where about to reach the classroom door when Ace stopped us.

"Guys has anyone seen Murphy."

"Damn it! He might have stayed back when we started running, I will go check up on him."

I stopped Ace before he dashed off and told him I will go and look for Murphy, he looked stunned for a moment.

"What's with that expression, you didn't expect me to willingly look for him?"

"Why? I thought you were a lone wolf and you didn't care about anyone."

I just left without replying to him, being a loner doesn't mean I'm heartless. Anyway can I be considered a loner, atleast I hang with one person.

Layla leaves across the street opposite our neighbourhood, we have been friends for years, growing up together strengthened our bond, so we became best buddies.

Running back in the hallway I spotted him standing in front of Katie's body.

This guy had guts, I understand she was her girlfriend until today but how can he still be not grossed out by this situation.

"Hey Murphy! Let's go back to class Ace will inform the teachers. They will know what to do."

"She didn't deserve this. It's all my fault we are in this mess, I'm the one who thought with my lower half and dragged her to the store room, and she didn't just die a brutal death, she became a monster." Murphy whimpered
