Chapter 49 -- Flame Prince vs Juggernaut 

The next morning, Zane woke up feeling very refreshed. After washing himself he checked if Chris was asleep before doing his morning workout.

Zane still did his workout, but at a lesser extent than what he did in the forest. He didn't workout to Cultivate his body anymore, he worked out because he was used to it. It was his routine for three years after all.

After the 30 minute workout, Zane woke up Chris.

"Whaaat?" Chris grumbled and covered his head with the blanket.

"Come on wake up we are going out" Zane said.

Chris suddenly woke up and looked at Zane with surprise.

"Zane?" he said.

"Yes?"

"Are you asking me out?" Chris smirked.

"Fuck you old man, wake up" Zane chuckled as he left Chris' room.

"So where do you want to go?" Chris asked as they left the house.

"The other day I heard people talking about an arena where mages fight" Zane said.

"Ohh yeah I know the place, you wanna go?" Chris asked.

"Yah i wanna check it out"

"Sure"

Chris then led Zane to the so called arena, unaware of the two pairs of eyes watching their every move.

A few minutes later Zane and Chris walked into a large building, Zane could immediately hear the sounds of people shouting and cheering inside. It reminded Zane of a football field on the day of the final game.

Zane stopped at the entrance for a few seconds as he calibrated his ears to the noise. After his ears had adjusted he walked in.

Chris seemed to be familiar with the place as he quickly found the two of them seats. Zane looked around and surprisingly, he almost couldn't see any mage in his immediate surroundings.

However the number of mortals was outstanding. Zane couldn't see anyone outside of one meter but he could hear them. He could hear more than 500 different voices in a 50 meters radius, and that was only the people who were currently speaking.

A few minutes later, Zane saw a mage walk onto the stage. Well he assumed that was the stage since his seat was pointed in that direction.

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the greatest show on earth!!" the mage shouted. It seemed he was using some kind of spell to make his voice extra loud.

"Without wasting any time let's get on to the first battle for the the day. Please don't forget to bet your coins, the more you lose the more our fighters get paid after all" the announcing mage laughed.

"Hey Zane how are you even gonna watch anyway?" Chris asked.

"I am just here to watch their spells" Zane shrugged.

Chris nodded and turned his attention to the announcer.

"Put your hands together for Fire Prince!!" The announcer shouted.

The crowd roared in excitement while Zane closed his eyes and put his head between his legs, groaning in pain.

A fire pillar one meter in diameter and two meters tall suddenly appeared on stage before exploding to reveal a young man with red hair and a large robe of the same color.

He then lifted his hands and flame balls flew up into the air before exploding. This move seemed to drive the crowd crazy. Zane had to put on his eye cover in order to stay sane.

"And his opponent, we have The Juggernaut!!" shouted the announcer. Like last time the crowd erupted in cheer. However this time Zane didn't look away from the stage, he had missed the Fire Prince's entrance and he wouldn't miss this one.

Suddenly sounds of something heavy slamming against the ground could be heard. The ground on the stage suddenly cracked open to reveal a fist.

Boom!

The ground exploded as a large man burst out of it and jumped a few meters into the air.

Boom!

The ground cracked once more as he landed back down with force. When the dust cleared, what could only be described as a giant appeared.

He was tall and very muscular. With long brown hair up to his lower back. An unkempt beard on his face with sideburns which could hide a cat.

When Zane saw the Juggernaut, he was reminded of his previous self before he broke through into Body Cultivation.

"Huh interesting" Zane mumbled. The reason was that Zane could see the Juggernaut. That was because he had coated himself in a thin layer of earth. Since the earth was a spell made with mana, Zane could naturally see it. 

"Juggernaut you know the drill" the announcer said.

The Juggernaut just huffed and suddenly, the broken ground under him mended itself until there wasn't even a scratch 

This move had always surprised the spectators, but Zane had just seen the Juggernaut channel his mana through his feet to fix the ground.

"Alright without further ado.... FIGHT!!" The announcer said before running off the stage as fast as he could.

He was right to run as fast as possible because not even a second later, a giant flame ball passed just where the announcer was previously standing.

BOOM!

A two meter tall earth wall had risen in front of the Juggernaut and blocked the flame ball. The Juggernaut hadn't even raised his hand, he just stood there arms crossed with a smirk on his face. Which was hard to see on account of his beard.

Bang!

The wall disappeared as the Juggernaut shot forward, the ground breaking where he once stood. Zane had seen how he had used mana to strengthen his muscles. The Juggernaut's body actually looked like a mana beast in Zane's eyes.

With a single step, the Juggernaut had closed the 50 meter distance between him and Fire Prince. He quickly threw a punch forward but a fire ball suddenly appeared between the two of them.

BOOM!

Just as fast as it appeared, it exploded and the shockwave pushed the Juggernaut back about 30 meters. The Juggernaut had covered his face to protect his beard from getting burnt, and when he looked up, another fire ball was a few inches from his face.

Not a split second later, a large boulder appeared on top of the Juggernaut. The boulder then slammed down on the Juggernaut's head, pushing his whole body to the ground, effectively dodging the flame ball.

Fire Prince was seemingly surprised that the Juggernaut would attack himself with his own spell that he didn't notice that he was slowly sinking into the ground.

When he noticed it was already too late as his feet had sunk into the earth. The Juggernaut stood up and dashed in the direction of the Fire Prince.

Seeing that he couldn't escape before the Juggernaut reaches him, Flame Prince conjured two fire snakes which he sent flying to intercept the Juggernaut.

The Juggernaut knew that he couldn't get hit by that spell so he made a ramp out of the earth and jumped as high as he could. The fire snakes tried to turn towards the sky but they slammed into the earth ramp before that.

By now, Flame Prince had broken free of the earth on his feet and quickly sent three more fire snakes towards the Juggernaut. The Juggernaut was still in the air and couldn't dodge the incoming fire snakes.

"Meteor smash" The Juggernaut said, he didn't say these words out loud but Zane heard them, over the screaming fans.

The Juggernaut went into the fetal position and rocks suddenly started pilling up on his body. In the span of one tenth of a second he had already turned into a large earth ball of 5 meters in diameter.

Zane was shocked when he saw the amount of mana the Juggernaut was using. For others, they were just seeing a large ball of earth, but for Zane it was like he was looking at the sun.

"Fuck!" was the last word out of Flame Prince's mouth before....

BOOOOM!

The giant earth ball smashed against the ground. It really did look like a bonafide meteor.
