Otherworldly beings

The elves started to pack their belongings, which were quite a lot. After a remarkable time, they were ready to move out. Don was leading the group of elves beside him as Knight, Arwen, and Amaryll walked closer to him. It seemed as if the elf woman took an interest in Knight. Don noticed this and felt amused inside. Arwen was more concerned regarding their surrounding. He was extra cautious, considering the recent bandit assault. Only some elves in his tribe stepped out of their territorial boundary. Don wasn't concerned as Arwen because he knew Knight had the ability of farsight and can scan his surroundings to sense threats within two kilometers.

As they walked, a few magical beasts and creatures tried to hinder them. But the elven archers were quite talented as they killed them in an instant. Not all creatures tried to pick a fight with such a large group, however. As their quality and size increased, the more intelligent the beasts grew, to put it simply.

Peak-level master-level beasts could understand human language and had basic intelligence. Reaching grandmaster-level, they could speak and have human-level intelligence. Reaching above grandmaster-level was very hard, and many grandmaster level beasts died trying to cross such tribulation to reach Heavenly level. There were only a handful of Heavenly level beasts found within the mortal realm, but they normally lived secluded, and other races wouldn't bother them because the wrath of a Heavenly level beast is not to be taken lightly. They could destroy a city easily.

"Huh... Knight, what magic master level are you?"

Amaryll wondered about this for some time now. She thought he was a grandmaster-level beast since he could talk like a human, but Amaryll had never seen a grandmaster-level beast before. When she couldn't arrive at a conclusion and everyone was rather silent, she finally voiced her curiosities and asked Knight.

Knight was somewhat confused since he was not born in the mortal realm. He had pretty much no idea regarding the magic or magic levels.

"I don't know, What's a magic master level?" Knight responded to Amaryll's question with a question of his own.

"Hm? Do you really know about the levels of magic? What's the color of your magic core?" Amaryll asked Knight surprisingly.

Arwen and Elrond had also taken an interest in the conversation between Amaryll and Knight.

Knight let out a sigh, "Lady, I was not born in your world, so I have no idea what you are asking me."

Everyone who heard his statement was shocked. What did he mean by not being born in their world? Did that mean that there was another world? Could other beings like Knight also enter their world? Were the gods in their world? Or were they gods themselves? Many questions were starting to rise in their heads. Amaryll and Arwen were no exception to this.

Looking at the bewildered and frightened faces of the elves, Knight knew that he had kicked a hornet's nest. Knight stared at Don for help, but he just shrugged it off as if he was telling: 'It's your mess buddy. Clean it up.'

"Are you telling the truth? Is there actually another world that we can travel to?"

Amaryll began to ask questions, but Knight stopped her as he explained.

"No. You can't go there, so don't even think about it," Knight said.

"Then can they come to our world from theirs like you?" Amaryll promptly asked.

Knight sighed, "Don and I are an exception. Even for us, that was a one-way trip. So even if we desired to, we can't travel back to there."

"Won't you miss your world, Sir Knight?" This time, Elrond was the one to question Knight.

Knight laughed lightly when he heard Elrond call him 'Sir,' "No, I don't miss my world. Don and I are pretty much used to traveling around. Also, don't call me Sir. Simply Knight would do."

"So Don also an otherwo-"

Before Amaryll could finish her question, Knight had already sent her a telepathic message, "Don't ask him about his past. He doesn't like to talk about it, but when the time comes he will tell you about it."

Amaryll jumped like a rabbit who had seen a snake when she heard the voice of Knight inside her mind. She was not at all used to it.

Arwen asked immediately, "Are you alright, Amaryll?"

"Yeah yeah, I'm fine. Just an insect that landed on my shoulder, that's all."

Arwen looked at Amaryll doubtfully, but he didn't ask her any further.

"That voice I've heard in my mind... That was you, right? You could do that too, Knight?" Amaryll whispered to Knight.

"Yes, that was me," Knight replied. "I can send telepathic messages too. Don't wonder if you can do that."

"Why did you stop me? Is Don an otherworldly being like you?" Amaryll inquired at Knight, but this time, her voice was so quiet that only Knight could hear her.

"No, he is not. As I said, don't ask him about his past. He will tell you when the time comes," Knight sent a piece of telepathic advice to her.

Arwen noticed the circumstance as Amaryll abruptly stopped when asking about Don's origins. But Arwen was not interested in Don's past. His only concern was the future as he knew everyone had a past. If they didn't want to share, then so be it.

"So, can you tell me about the magic levels you were asking me about, lady?" Knight inquired.

Amaryll pondered for a moment before replying, "There are six levels in magic. We have Beginner, Apprentice, Master, Great master, Grandmaster, and Heavenly. Each level is divided into three layers from low, mid, and peak. As for the magic core, everyone in the world is born with it. The magic core is located near the heart. When someone dies, it would disappear, leaving a small trace of magic thread with the color of their magic core. It also determines your level. The colors are light pink, silver, white, red, crimson, and purple respectively. And finally, don't call me lady. I have a name. It's Amaryll. You should use that."

She pouted. Knight smiled and started to recollect what Amaryll had just said about magic levels.

"So now it's your turn to tell me about your powers or sorcery. Whatever you use," Amaryll questioned Knight again.

"In my world, we aren't born with magic cores. We just cultivate energy called Battle energy or Battle qi, comparable to the magic you described."

"Battle energy, huh? Is that what you and Don used? Do you have levels in battle energy?"

" Human, Earth, Sky, Moon, Star, Sun, and Celestial levels. Coincidentally, each level is also divided into also three levels; low, mid, and peak."

"So what level are you and Don in?"

"I am in peak Sky-level while Don is in the mid-Moon level," Knight said proudly.

Amaryll gasped, "So are you saying that you are a peak master-level mage and Don is a mid-level Great master?"

Even Arwen and the other elves were curious to hear the answer from Knight. In the mortal realm, Great masters were prominent figures, and nobody would dare to mess with them. They were rarely seen in outer lands. Besides, all of them would be older, as a matter of fact. According to Amaryll's knowledge, the youngest Great master was fifty-six years old, but Don seemed to be in his mid-twenties. How abnormal was that?

"Hmm... I didn't think about it that way. I don't think that we can compare level to level using magic and battle energy, but I'm looking forward to seeing which one is better," Knight said as he considered the matter.

While Amaryll thought about the matter, the group had stopped walking as Arwen began to investigate the surroundings.

"We should camp here tonight. It seems ahead is the region of the druids. We better don't go into their region. Instead, we should stay here. They won't do anything as long as we keep our distance."

Amaryll nodded in approval. Druids lived in deeper parts of the forest, and normally, no human or other race could even attempt to come this far. Druids were dangerous beings just as Arwen said. So long as you didn't cross their boundary, they will not attack. Of course, the humans knew about this and they didn't take any risks. But for Amaryll's group, this risk was worth it. Also, they had Don.
