Training [3]

[15th April 2024], White room training space.

My plan worked out well as, after many beatings, I was finally able to deduce a way to fight that was somewhat deadly but suited me.

I looked at the three Jacobs who were glaring daggers at me, one of them having a on his face from my previous attack.

I was grinning without even knowing it, and everyone noticed when my eyes narrowed slightly and then cleared into a plain expression.

'What is happening to me right now,' I asked, shocked to find myself laughing in such a manner even when I could get killed here.

"Let it aside, and focus, Rey, focus," I shouted as I looked at the three Jacobs now rushing toward me to kill.

I again engaged in the process of defending, evading, and attacking. I was becoming proficient in this process as, after a few minutes, all four of us were heaving with low stamina. All three had many cuts their bodies due to my efforts, and now I could do better than just attacking the third.

"Looks like you've got the rhythm, haven't you?" Victor said, his voice echoing over me as if he were speaking an empty stadium.

"Can't you just shut your mouth? I'm literally to get out of this situation here," I said, straightening up with my hands aching after holding the sword for so long.

"Huh, but I thought you were having fun. Why are you smiling so much?" he said as I touched my face, which was adorned with a smile.

I instantly straightened my face and was about to reply when a punch came straight to my face, sending me flying like a broken kite.

I fell to the after traveling a few meters due my lowered guard, but before Jacobs could come and hit me more, I was already up and started defending against them, which was quite easy due to their physical conditions.

I took opportunity and instantly slashed my sword from top to bottom in a (\) motion, killing one of Jacobs who fell the ground as a fountain of blood began oozing out from him.

Both Jacobs looked at the body with deadpan expressions while I was elated to off another clone.

Both looked at him, then at me, and rage rose within them as they lunged at me with the intent to kill.

But I was ready, and this time the process was quite easy for me as one was down and two were already on their way to defeat.

A few moments later, I took a deadly chance that could have killed me, but it was worth it. I tripped one of the clones to fall down and delivered a strong blow to the other's face. As you all know, the process as simple as pudding. I slashed off both heads for a precision.

I then collapsed on the ground after the match was finished, exhausted from the battle. Pushing myself to defeat three Jacobs with the same power level was already tiring enough for me.

"Well, well well, our host is quite an impressive one, don't you think so, Aiden? He defeated those clones who had a significant difference in power than him. But why didn't you want to tell him that they were stronger than him?" Victor said to Aiden, who just denied in response.

"No, if I told him that he could kill those with higher power than him, then he would surely become ignorant, and I will make sure that doesn't happen. If it did, then this kid would become like those candidates hanging around as if they are the only strong ones here," Aiden said, knowing that ignorance kills a man, and attitude and ego make it worse. He would surely remind Rey from time to time that he is still weak and a tiny being, where many can kill him like an ant.

"Okay, think so, then let it be," Victor said as he snapped his finger. In the area where I was lying on the floor, the bodies of the clones dissolved into the ground, and my body was also cleaned, with pain and everything removed like in a game.

"Huh, again? No, I won't do it anymore," I shouted, as I was really not going to do it anymore.

"Okay, don't do it, as why would you, right? When someone strong comes to kill your family and friends in front of you and shows you the despair of losing them, you will realize that you should have listened to us," Victor said. I looked at him with anger, as what he said was maybe an attempt to provoke and tease me, but it was true. The world was changing, and he wouldn't be able to save his family a strong enemy appeared.

"Okay, I will do it, but let me first check my progress, as this can help motivate me by showing that I am progressing," I said I called out the system to see my ability, which might be increasing now.

"Huh, where is my proficiency?" I shouted as everyone else also peeked at my ability screen to see no progress in weapon mastery.

"Oh, maybe because you've done it in your mind and not with your body, the system might have deemed your training as a dream, and you don't have the <Dream Trainer Manic> talent to back up the loss of training," Aiden said. I didn't know what that talent was, but I needed it. If my training is going to be wasted like this, then what am I going to do if all my efforts are going to be a blank slate?

"So how do I that talent? Do I have to meet some requirements?" I asked, but the answer was quite disappointing.

"No, you can't get that talent just like this. You can only get it at birth, rank raise, special loot, or awakening," he said. I was sad to know that I didn't anything like a talent in my awakening.

"So, does this mean I have to be talentless all this time?" I said with a crying face. (ToT)

"No, you can buy them at the system's store later on," he said, and my mood changed instantly. But before I could ask more, he threw me out of the room into darkness again.

"Hey, what did you do to me? I wanted to ask more," I shouted, but before that, I was already in a dark area where the light of the room wasn't available.

Before I could think more, my eyes opened, and I found myself lying on my bed where I had slept last night. I see the sun rising in the sky and birds flying away, just a perfect scene to wake up to but my mind was sour.
