1 The Initial Lies

My eyes were so unbelievable. It was a picture of me when I was a baby that my parents had hidden. I have a twin brother, despite what my parents told me. I sat on my bed and gazed at the image. How could they harm us in this way? I stayed there, gazing at the image, for what seemed like hours. My mother opened my door, and I leaped. She noticed the photo despite my best efforts to conceal it.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked. She sighed, and I demanded

My mother said, "To keep him safe," and I scowled.

I don't think you're real. She scowled as I yelled.

"I don't care if you don't think I'm telling the truth, but you won't tell anyone about this!" She took a picture, snatching it out of my hand. When she looked down and I spotted Benard the Alpha, I stood up after her. As my mother handed me the picture, I swiftly ducked. He was staring at her as she grinned at him. I asked, "What are you doing here?"

As her smile disappeared, he remarked, "I heard that you know when one or both of the Lycans are."

They tensely said, "I'm sorry, but that's not true," she remarked. I could feel his frustration and rage.

She recoiled as he roared, "If you don't tell me, I'll take you before the pack and kill you, your husband, and little Sarah."

I have no idea what you are talking about. He gripped her throat, and she screamed. I gasped, wanting to save her so badly, but I knew I couldn't. I returned covertly to my chamber. I cautiously closed the door. My dad was texted a warning to keep away as soon as I retrieved my phone. She wouldn't let me use my necklace, so I felt it and wished I could use it to help. I am aware that if I aid her, I might never be able to locate my brother to assist him. She was being killed when I heard her screams.

"Easton, you need to locate them. The only one strong enough to kill them is you. Benard abruptly hung up the phone. I crawled beneath my bed as hot tears poured over my face. As Benard rushed through the house, I held my breath. He entered my room and unlocked the closet. "I know you are here, Sarah. Come out, and I won't hurt you." I hesitated before determining that coming out was my only option. He is unaware that I am a strong Lycan thanks to my mom. She instructed me to turn when the moon was full and to exercise caution when turning otherwise. She also demonstrated for me how to restrain my strength.

I mumbled, "Benard, please don't hurt me," as he grinned. He circled me as he walked toward me and touched my golden hair.

He continued, "I want you to join my guard," and I scowled.

I mumbled, "I'm only seventeen," as he laughed.

You are among the pack's top combatants, then. I was debating what to do when he said, "Only you could beat my beta.

I firmly pursed my lips and whispered, "Fine, but only if you spare my father."

He grabbed my arm and dragged me downstairs, saying, Deal, now let's go." He shoved me into the passenger seat of his vehicle as he dragged me there. He then spread to his home, which more resembled a fortress. He parked his car inside next to his wife, who also happens to be his beta.

"Where do I go to change into the proper guard attire?" He motioned a guard over, and I questioned I gasped, knowing that staying here would put my safety in serious jeopardy. My birthmark is visible to everyone, so they would be aware. The birthmark was on my left shoulder blade and resembled the head of a wolf.

Benard walked away from me and said, "Nate will show you. I followed Nate out of the Jeep. He had dark hair and piercing blue eyes. He gave me a pair of tight black slacks and a black tank top to wear with black combat boots. I reached for a thin black jacket and put it on. I had to chuckle at the hue they chose.

"Nate, what do I do all day?" I asked as I was leaving the restroom.

Nate yelled, "Shadow his wife," which prompted me to enter the main home in search of Isabelle. I looked all over before I came across Benard and Isabelle in the library. When I realized they were looking into the Gemini Lycans, my worry increased. As they read book after book, I stood up against the wall next to another guard.

Are you certain that none of the pack members had twins? When Isabelle inquired, Benard turned to face me.

"Sarah, do you know a woman who had twins?" I could see from his question that he wanted to consider my response.

I firmly replied, No, sir; if I had, I would tell you," thinking he wouldn't figure out I was lying.

Issabelle went back to her reading as he remarked, "See no one knows of any twins in the pack."

Turning the book around, she remarked, "Hey, I found something." It's a knife that only harms Gemini Lycans, I'm afraid.

He turned to me and remarked, "I've seen this before." Sarah's home, where?

I meekly answered, "Sir, I can go get it if you like," hoping he wouldn't put me to the test.

As I descended the steps and passed into the courtyard, he remarked, "Take Nate with you. I heard Nate pleading with him.

I remarked as he tossed me a set of keys, "We are heading to my apartment to fetch a special knife for Benard. Are we riding on motorcycles?

He led me to the motorcycles and said, "Yes, let's go. I intended to start it up. As soon as I left the compound, I put on a helmet. As we accelerated near my house, my hair swirled behind me. I jumped off the bike and hurried inside, stopping briefly when I saw my mother looking at me incoherently. I took a deep breath before snatching the knife and entering my mother's room, being careful not to touch the blade. I approached Nate and gave it to him.

I said, getting back on the bike, "Here it is." I considered running as I drove, but I kept going to the compound. I didn't know how I was going to get out of this predicament, and I had no way to leave it.
