Hello, Brother

In an effort to rescue my brother before the competition caught up, we left for San Diego early in the morning. As I was still wearing medical scrubs, we pulled over at a nearby motel so I could change. As Ethan brought me jeans and a pink tank top, I stood up and entered the room. Before I closed the door, he handed me the scrubs, which I put on while dumping my scrubs on the floor. Before leaving the restroom, I sprayed them with perfume. Ethan was waiting for me on the bed.

He nodded, and I replied, "Let's walk over to his house."

As we took the elevator to the lobby, he remarked, "It will be less obvious than driving." We exited the building into the brisk morning San Diego traffic. As we made our way to his house along the sidewalk, my gun began to press against my back.

"Do you think he'll pay us any attention?" I asked, my body tingling with anxiety. I made valiant attempts to overcome the fear, but it persisted and kept growing.

If not, I'll show him," Ethan assured. As soon as I saw the house, I nodded. I was on the sidewalk, admiring the impressive house that was in front of us. I started by climbing one step, then continued for a while before stopping. I raised my arm and pressed the doorbell. Ethan remained behind me while keeping an eye out in case the pack came across us. As the door opened, I grinned.

I muttered, "Hello, I'm looking for Leo Robertson."

"Robertson, I don't know any Robertsons," the elderly man complained.

I said, a little confused by the fact that he wasn't present, "Are you sure this is the address on file for him?" Easton may have lived in this area in the past if he were present.

The man slammed the door in my face while saying, "Yes, I'm sure." As I approached Ethan, he gave me a curious glance.

I sighed as we moved next door and suggested that perhaps we should ask a neighbor if they knew him. I hid my gun securely before I knocked on the door.

"Can I be of any help to you?" I smiled, and a girl inquired.

I added, as her smile wavered, "I'm looking for Leo Robertson."

She added, "Like I told the cops, he moved away," and my heart started to rush. The wolves had come here in search of him.

"Can you tell me where? I said, "He's my brother," knowing Mom wouldn't just tell me that.

She replied, "No, I'm sorry; like I told them, I don't know where they moved," as I sighed.

As I went down the stairs, I said, "Thank you for your time." Ethan moaned in dissatisfaction. We have to track him down before they do.

He said, "I don't know where to look," as we headed back to the motel.

"No magic can find him," you say. He shook his head as I asked.

I screamed, "Damn it!" as we rounded the corner and entered the hotel's street. Upon seeing my father, I froze. He wasn't aware of us, but he was moving in our direction. Ethan was reversing when I grabbed his arm.

He questioned, "What?" as I bit my lip.

I groaned and took the revolver out of my shirt, removing the safety. "My father is coming this way," I said.

Ethan questioned, "What are you going to shoot him with?" as I squirmed.

As we went away from the hotel and into an alleyway, crouching next to a dumpster, I muttered, "Only if he finds us. I was appreciative that I could cover up my odor.

"Sarah, your odor is all over the car at the hotel. I looked at Ethan, who said, "We need to keep moving. They know you are around.

I whispered, "I need perfume," as he summoned a bottle. Before we continued down the alley, I sprayed it all over us. Ethan handed me his sweatshirt as we crossed a busy street.

He instructed me to put it on and keep my head down, which I did with the hood covering my head. I navigated the congested street while keeping my eyes peeled for additional Lycans. As I waited for a bus to take us away from this place, I arrived at the bus stop. My phone rang loudly, and I jumped. I responded right away.

I screamed, "Hello," as Ethan gave me a glare.

"Sarah, come back; I'll make sure you're secure. When I tensed up, my father answered, "They only want your brother.

As I stepped into the bus, I yelled, "Tell that to my stab wound."

"Believe me. My father stated, "If you help kill your brother, they won't hurt you," which made my heart break. He wants me to unjustly kill my own brother.

"No bye!" As I threw my phone out the window, I growled.

The question is, "What did he want?" Ethan questioned me as I was crying.

I softly murmured, "For me to kill my brother," as Ethan embraced me. My internal pain returned as I sobbed on his shoulder.

It's ok; keep quiet. I'll always keep you safe, he quietly assured me as I took a breath to calm myself. I rubbed my eyes with my palms and then reclined in my chair. We rode the bus all the way to its terminus. We exited the bus and entered a busy bar. Ethan took out his phone and gave the address to his people so they could come retrieve us. I couldn't help but worry about my brother, for whom we had no idea where to look and who had a tracker right behind him.

"Ethan, is there a way to find my brother?" In the hopes that the response would alter, I re-asked.

He replied, "I know one way, but we have to wait for a full moon to do it, and I'm going to need a drop of your blood," as I winced. Needles and blood make me sick.

I firmly said, "Okay, I'll do it for my brother, but just so you know, I might pass out. As he guided me to the car, he grinned. We got back in the car and headed to Austin, Texas, this time. I'll be there, dear brother.
