Chapter 27: Reaching out

Araceli had to take her time to get used to her new state and inquired about the state of the world.

Camila wasn't the least bit surprised about her actions as this wasn't the first time the priestess, as Araceli was usually referred to behaved in such way.

But whenever she did, it meant a massive storm was approaching and they would have to get to work.

The watchers had successfully made contact with every continent and major city. The headquarters and their current location however was in the outlands as they were keeping news about themselves and how they operated on a low.

They were in a small ruin Araceli had discovered during one of her turn, she called it small but it was big enough to house a few thousand comfortably.

After Araceli had learnt all she could about how the affairs of the organisation and had gotten a grasp on her body she decided to make a trip.

Gamora was too far away from where she was currently and even using warp gates and moving at her fastest speed, she wouldn't get to it before glacier ended, not without exposing her cards.

It was already deep into aqua and she didn't want the world to know about her yet, so she had to change her plans.

She wasn't sure they had made contact in this lifetime, but if she was going to pull this off she definitely needed her help.

Ramona was going to have to break her race rules and make an appearance.

**********************************************

"I'm pretty sure this is the place, I don't know what's up with my memory during this turn, but this should be the right spot"

Araceli could be seen talking to herself out in the middle of nowhere. The only thing notable about the location that was but barrenness and desolation where stone hedges arranged in a spiral manner.

She was floating high up in the sky and was looking at this pattern from above.

Observing the absurd pattern below her, if she wasn't sure this was the location she was supposed to be at she had have long discarded the thoughts of this place holding anything important and just left.

It looked that stupid and odd.

Decreasing her height and adjusting her position until she was just above the centre of the stones she brought her arms together like in a prayer.

"Crap, I'm but a early stage ascendant in the body path, how am I supposed to start a spell?

Things would have been better if I was at my peak"

She then dropped and made sure she was standing in the centre, if she couldn't uses spells, she'd just use herself as to perform the actions she was about to do.

If other body path practitioners saw what she was doing, they would have their whole world and beliefs shaken to the core.

"I can only keep the true elemental state for a few minutes so I better be quick about this"

Slowly her body started turning into water while retaining it's shape and form, some parts however started freezing turning into ice, if someone looked at her, she would like a water sculpture, if that was possible, with ice at its important parts acting as the pillar holding it together.

"לחפש קה"

"Sovereign Above World's Blossom, Guardian of The World, Saintess of The Ancient Ones, this priestess of the end seeks thy audience"

A white beam emanated from Araceli and shot into the air dispelling the clouds and brightening the surroundings.

She waited for a moment for something else to happen in response to that

Five minutes passed yet nothing happened

"Maybe I was wrong after all"

As she was about to turn back

"Hello there Araceli"

A voice came as another beam of light came rushing from the air to the ground in front of Araceli before condensing into the shape of a woman.

"While it is nice to see you again so soon, Is there a reason reason why you'd contact me after just a year since our last conversation"

'Well not that you can blame me, I wasn't even sure if we had met or not'

'And what do you mean talking like one year is a short time, well not like I'm one to talk since my sense of time is as messed up as it could ever be'

"Mona, you talk like one year is a short time, I'm a mermaid you know, and for races like ours , while not as short as humans it's still long"

"All jokes aside though, I really do need your help, and it's very important, I can't do it myself and I had no one else I could turn to except you"

Ramona could sense the seriousness in her friends voice and knew now was not the time for jokes, she nodded giving her permission to go on, ready to help.

"There's going to be a disturbance in Gamora next month, I can't predict the exact time but it's within that range. As for the exact details, to be honest, I'm not sure, only that whatever happens there will very much affect the fate of the world"

Ramona paused, crossing her arms before raising one to her chin, in a thinker style pose.

"You see, Celi, Lately fate has been obscured, even more than usual, while I and the elders could tell something was wrong, or about to go wrong there was no way to tell what it was"

Pacing from left to right as she spoke her thoughts aloud, she turned and looked at Araceli

"As usual I won't ask you how you know this as you're my friend and you have already proven yourself, I'll trust you and head there myself"

"Manpower is spread thin as it is already and there's not much I could do except go and see to it myself, Is that all"

"Yes Mona, and thank you very much"

"You're welcome and I should be the one thanking you, I'll take my leave now but congratulations on your ascension, I'll be sure to follow after you soon sister"

The person of light fading away after those words. Only Araceli was left on the spot now.

She had done what she could and the rest was left to the hands of fate.

*************************************************

A young halflin stood on a mountain peak with a bottle of wine in one hand and a glass in the other, the glass raised above his head in toast to someone not in the vicinity

"You know brother, everyday since I left has been nothing but hell"

He began his monologue

"Karma is a bitch, I probably shouldn't have laughed at you and called you a masochist, brother, if you saw me now, you'd ask if was training to become a craftsman or training to fight a war"

Valdor took a sip from the wine, allowing the drink to feel his insides , the warmth cheering him up.

"AHH, that hits the spot"

He belched as he stared into the air, thinking of the fun times, the time he spent with his brother Noah.

It had been over two years since Valdor left Gamora for the drawven city if Sielren to come under the tutelage of his father's master.

"Dammit old man, why didn't you tell me I was going to meet your father, not like it would have changed anything but I would atleast have been mentally prepared and not have made a fool if myself like I did"

Swiveling in more wine, this time directly from the bottle he snickered.

The first time he met Kaldur, the old man introduced himself as his Grandfather leaving Val speechless, he froze on the spot which led to everyone on the spot falling into a huge laughter.

For a work driven race like theirs, Valdor's appearance was like an oasis in winter, well atleast until work started.

"Atleast your father still has respect for me, seeing as he named you following the family tradition, now let's see just how well he taught you"

That begun Valdor's hell

"Utter crap"

That was what Kaldur said when he watched Valdor's creation process.

"I don't know what that lad was thinking bringing you up this way, he should have sent you to me, the minute you drank your first wine"

"Well it's not to late to start"

The man said with a smile on his face, a smile very reminiscent to the one on Karl's face when he cooked up one of his crazy plans to train Noah

Valdor snapped out of his thoughts to the sound of his watch beeping, his break was over and it was time he got back to work.

Pouring a glass he set it up on the rock he was just sitting on and emptied the glass

"Guess I'll see you soon enough brother, and then I definitely won't be the dead weight anymore"

"You had better not been slacking off because I'll overtake you if you have"

He laughed as he jumped off the mountain peak
