CHAPTER 7- HARD WORK

Every other weapon he tried either didn't fit him well or didn't work out for him until he held a sword.

He just felt an instinctual connection to the weapon, he had practiced for a month with other weapons but made barely to no progress, while some others made progress in two to three days.

As he trained with the sword he made progress in just a week and a half, although it was far from those geniuses who did it in one day or more he was happy with it.

Unlike some other geniuses who skipped the basics after they had some progress in it, he trained hard daily, swinging his sword more than ten thousand times eyes day.

He kept working hard until his work finally paid off, he remembered something his parents told him.

Don't fear a man who trained a thousand skills, Fear a man who trained one skill a thousand times.

Rather than learning new skills, he knew his limit, the time it took him just to learn the basics was more than five times longer than other people used to learn an advanced skill.

So he trained only the basics, parrying, cutting, slashing, basic body movements, thrusting, and so on.

For years he had practiced just those moves, others might think he was a genius with the level his skills had reached, but he knew how long and how much effort was put in to gain that strength.

The only reason he was feeling underwhelmed was all those years of effort were being surpassed right in front of him.

When he saw Daniel training his body last two months, he had also been following him. He understood he had to have a good body to be able to fight properly.

Since then he hadn't trained his sword skills only his body.

198… 199… 200

He had just done two hundred push-ups straight even after all the training he had done the day.

Phew…..

He let out a long breath as he stretched, bending his body in weird ways, his flexibility was unimaginable.

After stretching he sat in a meditation position, he had done this every day since he started training his body.

The instructor advised him while training his body for daily meditation, "One way for you to get stronger is to know yourself" he exhaled as he remembered the words of the instructor.

"We are weak but we are also strong, if we were able to control all the aspects of our body and power in a perfect order we would be ruling this continent by now, most people can only release up to thirty percent of their actual power just because they lack control and meditation was one way to solve it"

He calmed his heart and cleared his mind as he allowed himself to totally rest, after some minutes he could hear his heartbeat loud and clearly, and thirty minutes later he could feel some minuscule flow of blood around his body.

As he made this progress he immediately stopped, he was happy he had progressed, if one day he was able to fully control his powers just how strong would he be?

He cleaned his room and showered as he prepared to sleep.

I'm the other rooms most of them had slapped already or were preparing their beds.

Daniel sat down as he started his daily meditation, he could feel his heartbeat clearly and could feel the flow of blood throughout his body but he hadn't broken through the bottleneck that had been holding him for weeks now.

He couldn't control the flow of blood in his body, not even a single drop, if he could do it he would have crossed the bottleneck a long time ago.

The meditation session went on normally like the rest of the other days, he had only meditated for fifteen minutes before ending and getting ready to go to bed.

The sound of bells woke them up from their slumber, as it kept on ringing, and even if they wanted to sleep again the noise of the bell wouldn't let them.

They got ready and all assembled in the main hall as the two instructors stood there waiting.

As they gathered together, they could be seen talking and laughing with one another showing their good relationship with each other.

"Quiet down," one of the instructors said as the hall went silent.

"We are here to address your coming-of-age ceremony that is coming up, some changes have been made, now instead of waiting for one month the ceremony will take place in just a week," the instructor said.

As they heard the news they were all happy, they had been waiting for this ceremony forever, time just seemed to slow down every time they thought of it, but now it had been reduced they no longer had to wait that much.

"This change has something to do with the monster that came ashore recently, if you're smart you'll be able to connect the dots," the instructor said.

So for this week, you guys can do whatever you want, except to leave the city.

You could rest all day, work all day, or try to earn some money none of that matters for now, after the ceremony your real training shall begin.

"You are all dismissed," they said.

As they walked back to their rooms, some of them started making plans to hang out with each other.

Daniel, Micheal, and some others saw this and shook their heads, this was the last week they had to train with all their might to ace the coming-of-age ceremony.

If they took any break it would be on the last day.

"So Daniel do you have any plan of hanging out with us later," a boy spoke.

"No" he replied telling them he had some other things to do.

"So you're also going to train I presume?" I turned my head as I looked for the owner of the voice.

It was Micheal, it looked like he wanted to ask for something but he couldn't word it clearly
