Chapter 5: Fusion Monster Sally

Yin Shen placed his hand on the huge eyes of the Fusion Monster, as if touching a massive cold crystal.

His will stretched in through his pupils, and he spoke in a commanding tone.

"Remove the snail shell and give it to me!"

Tentacles extended from beneath the curled belly, gradually lifting the spiral shell on its back.

The enormous spiral shell, larger than the temple itself, rested on the temple's front steps.

The Fusion Monster lay beneath it, as if it were an offering to a deity.

Yin Shen originally intended to touch the shell, but upon contact, he discovered that the shell actually levitated.

With a mere thought, the spiral shell ascended higher and higher.

He could control this object.

Yin Shen seemed to have found a great toy. It was the first time he could touch and directly manipulate something, as if it were an extension of his body. It responded to his desires effortlessly.

Yin Shen attempted to move other objects but found no effect. The shell remained the only thing he could manipulate.

Finally, with a mental command, the huge snail shell began to shrink.

He held it in his hand, and the shell resembled a horn.

It seemed that with a blow, the melody of life could be played.

It was truly a miracle.

Yin Shen gained a preliminary understanding of this mythological creation: "It can be controlled in space, and its size can be altered."

"Things immersed in my power are no longer bound by the laws of science," Yin Shen speculated.

The power of Sanyeren was not limited to this; there were likely other undiscovered powers and ways of using them.

However, Yin Shen had yet to figure out how to imbue other objects with mythological power using his own.

Trapped in the crevice of time and space, Yin Shen could only rely on the trilobite Ledniche and the Fusion Monster to sustain himself and anchor the universe. His initial plan was to create more trilobites to establish additional anchor points.

Having a body again would be even better.

Days as a lonely and untamed spirit were truly terrifying.

Yin Shen stood up, holding the snail shell in his hand.

He noticed the Fusion Monster staring at him, its appearance even more terrifying now that it had shed the shell.

Yin Shen addressed the Fusion Monster: "Since you can change your form, then assume a form that is more pleasing to the eye!"

"It's frightening to look at."

Although he was alone, the Fusion Monster couldn't frighten him.

But still...

It was simply too grotesque.

Sensing Yin Shen's emotions, the huge Fusion Monster compressed towards its center.

Its body size decreased gradually.

Hundreds of eyes converged and shifted towards its body, eventually assuming a human form.

The dense tentacles receded, forming two legs resembling Yin Shen's.

The Fusion Monster transformed into a young girl wearing a white veil cloak, with green eyes, brown hair, bare feet, and pink nails.

The garment, more akin to a gossamer cloak, elegantly enveloped her petite frame.

Upon closer inspection, it seemed less like clothing and more like a layer of jellyfish membrane growing directly from her body.

In its human form, it no longer seemed like an object.

Yin Shen bestowed a name upon the Fusion: "Sally!"

"From now on, you shall be known as Sally!"

The Fusion Monster, now Sally, sat beside the deity, leaning against its stone statue. Having received her name, she showed no surprise, unlike Ledrich, or perhaps she failed to comprehend the distinction between being referred to as a Fusion Monster or as Sally.

She swung her legs, emitting sounds akin to bubbles.

"Gurulu!"

It resembled a fish blowing bubbles and chasing them, the hollow eyes devoid of any brilliance.

The mythical snail shell, dubbed a biological tool by Yin Shen, remained submerged in seawater, with only its top exposed, forming a reef.

Two figures, one large and one small, sat upon this rock.

Yin Shen's gaze fell upon the life born, conceived, and perishing within the snail shell.

The emotions in his eyes shifted from anticipation to surprise, then to disappointment.

Yin Shen, playing in the water with the Fusion Monster Sally, remarked, "Another failure."

"Sally, you're like a heartless game of chance, with dismal odds."

Sally kicked her feet in the water, seemingly oblivious to Yin Shen's words unless given a command.

Even if she comprehended, she probably wouldn't grasp terms like "heartless," "game of chance," or "merchant."

Yin Shen then manipulated the mythical snail shell to initiate the next experiment.

One after another, failed creations emerged, either dying upon birth or remaining devoid of sentience.

These failed attempts became nutrients, consumed by the snail shell, which then produced new trilobite eggs.

Countless failures ensued, with numerous incorrect approaches attempted.

The sun rose and set in a cyclic fashion.

The island and the ocean remained unchanged, seemingly destined to persist in this state until the end of time.

Finally, Yin Shen succeeded, his triumph poised to disrupt the world's immutability.

On that day...

Transparent insect eggs rolled out from the huge snail shell, emerging from the sea depths and floating on its surface, akin to shimmering gems under the sun's rays.

It was the miracle of life and the genesis of a new species.

"Gurulu!" Sally, the Fusion Monster, cheered.

Whether it was due to Yin Shen's elation or the sight of the tri-lobed human eggs adrift at sea, she rejoiced.

Ledrich, who had been carving stones in the temple and learning the deity's language, sensed the commotion and headed toward the sea.

Yin Shen stood atop the island, observing the newborn life, while Ledlich, stationed behind him, gazed at the lifeforms adrift on the ocean, a reflection of his own kind.

Yin Shen turned to Ledlicky, smiling.

"It worked, Ledniche."

"You..."

"I have a companion now."

Ledlicky's eyes widened, no longer alone.

It was a peculiar sensation, a profound feeling echoing within his chest.

"So, this is kinship."

At the same time, Ledniche remained somewhat perplexed.

"God!"

"After attaining kinship, what is my purpose?"

He inquired earnestly.

Yin Shen smiled.

"You're their ruler. Lead them to prosperity, and eventually, establish a civilization."

"A civilization of your own, for the Sanyeren people."

Ledlicky appeared bewildered.

"What is civilization?"

Yin Shen gazed out at the ocean.

"It entails possessing a unique language, art, and philosophy, the ability to transform and understand the world, a collective effort of intelligent beings."

"It could manifest as a city-state or a nation."

"As for your role, that's for you to determine."

Ledlicky turned to Yin Shen.

"Will God not instruct me? It's up to you to initiate this civilization!"

"I obey your every command."

Yin Shen shook his head.

"I am the God who created you."

"And you..."

"You're their king."
