Rise Of The Broken Sun

“Dada, the sun is rising again,” “Uh? Oh, it always rises,” “Won’t it get weak and broken?” “I don’t think so,” “I wonder what happens if it gets broken?” “Well, I think it’s going to rise,” “What?” … Hiro wakes up on a battlefield with no memory of anything. He manages to survive but ends up extremely wounded. Adopted by the Lu family’s patriarch, Hiro gets to have a family. A father, a mother, a sister and a grandfather. When he meets Seraphina, a phoenix that takes him as her parent, he becomes a father. Her growth surpassed that of any phoenix. “Wasn’t she just a four year old? When did she…?” He became friends with Tanji, who unknown to him was living his second life after dying years into the future. Shin, a talented boy in the way of the sword and Mia, a member of Tanji’s household. Somehow she has a relation to Hiro’s past and it is by no means in a simple way. “Long time no see, hus…” His origin beckons him and with that comes a threat to his life and that of his new family and friends. As time goes on Hiro’s memories slowly returns and he realizes his origin isn’t as simple as he thinks. Was it possible to be born twice? It wasn’t, right? “It means none of these were placed in here by someone else. These two set of memories belonged to the owner of this soul space, you.” Several great evils seek his life for reasons unknown to him. “Find Me, Before They Find You!” When, faced with both old and new threats to his life, Hiro is determined not to let them prevent him from achieving his goals. He seeks immortality, total strength and honor to his family. He was going to get them no matter what, those were his goals. Well, it was easier said than done.

50. Legacy.

"It felt like the right thing to do. I'm sorry, but why would you say you love my mom?"

"Huh? That's why you attacked me? Is it wrong to adore someone? For crying out loud she is my mentor. The stories I heard about her was what inspired me to use a sword, you dumbass."

"Oh, that's… but this is a spear."

"That's a long story. Someone made me promise not to ever use a sword."

"I still don't believe you," Hiro mutters and let's go of the spear. "By the way, Tanji what are you doing?"

"Hmm? Me? I'm watching the show," Tanji, who was now seated replied.

"Seriously?" Shin frowns.

"What if we killed ourselves?" Hiro asks.

"Nah, I knew you wouldn't. After all you are my best friends."

"You really did bump your head," Shin says. "He didn't make a move because of that stuff he has."

"Stuff? That water?"

"Yeah, Shin caught me. Honestly, Hiro made me afraid and I became too scared to interfere," Tanji says. "Hiro, what's your realm?"

"I told you yesterday I'm at the sec… huh? How?"

"What's wrong?" Shin asks.

"Yesterday I was at the second stage, right now I'm at the seventh stage."

"With all the energy you sucked into your body yesterday, you are only at the seventh stage?"

"What do you mean?"

"It seems almost all the energy went to healing his body," Tanji mutters. "Using the surrounding energy to heal one's self, I have seen it before but the creatures that did that weren't human."

"They were beasts?" Shin asks.

"Not just any beasts they were divine beasts," Tanji replied and got to his feet.

"What are you…"

"You know about divine beasts?"

A disembodied voice interrupts Hiro who was about to speak. And a strong force pulled Tanji toward a corner of the room. The space there disrupts and a man appears. He grips Tanji's neck and released a death aura.

Shin and Hiro fell to their knees under the pressure of the aura. They could not move a muscle and they could barely breathe.

"How do you know about divine beasts?"

"I… can't… answer… while… being choked… senior. Correction… vice master,"

At Tanji's words, the vice master loosened his grip but gave Tanji a death glare. "There shouldn't be anyone who knows of divine beasts in this era. Not even those at the ancestor realm. Who are you?"

"Zhan Tanji…"

"I would kill you this moment child. Who are you really?"

"Zhang Tan, the cursed son of Zhang…"

"Are you playing with me?" vice master frowns. He stretches out his free hand towards Hiro. At a fast speed, Hiro flies toward him and gets caught in his grip. "I would start by killing him, then I would kill everyone in this courtyard. If you still won't talk I will break your limbs and flay you alive." His grip tightens around Hiro's neck causing Hiro to gag.

"Stop. I have a gift, that allows me to see the future in dreams and visions. It was in one of those visions that I got to know about divine beasts."

"Do you take me for a fool?"

"St…stop." Hiro wriggled his feet in the air and punched at the vice master with his hands. It was his futile effort in trying to break free. The vice master wasn't joking, he was seriously strangling him.

"That's the son of patriarch Enji and matriarch Ming Lu. The grandson of the old ancestor. He would not let you go if he dies," Shin yells.

The vice master looks at Shin and snorted. Unfazed by the threat he turns back to Tanji. "Will you answer me?"

"I've seen this face before," Hiro says in his head as his consciousness drifts away.

"See, he is just laughing about it!"

"That's not your business, Tenjou!"

Two voices rang in his head. One of a boy who sounded jealous and the other of a girl. With that Hiro remembered where he had seen the vice master before. Though he was older now, his face wasn't much different. He only looked more matured.

"Ten… jou. Ten… jou," Hiro struggles to call.

"You…!" vice master turns to him with eyes widened. "Hao Ren, you bastard, you are alive."

He releases his grip and Hiro falls to the ground. His aura returns and his grip around Tanji's neck lessen. "Where the hell have you been?"

"Ack!" Hiro coughs and gasps. "Do you mind letting go of him…"

"I don't, but he hasn't answered my question and depending on how he does, he would die."

"What if I tell you he isn't lying and he could see the future because of a gift."

Tenjou, the vice master squints at him. "Fine, let him prove it."

"The ranking contest will be moved forward and sometime after that the disciples of the western and southern region will head over to the Jewang's beast field," Tanji says.

Tenjou looks at him. "This matter is not allowed to leave this courtyard."

"Yes vice master."

Tenjou releases Tanji and turns to Shin, who was still kneeling on the floor. "As you wish vice master," Shin says.

"Good, initially I had come for two things," states Tenjou as he takes out a bottle. "This is one."

Tanji's eyes opens wide as he continues. "Where did you get a divine… where did you get it from?"

"The beasts' mountain."

"When?"

"Today makes it the third day since I found it."

"If the ancient records are correct then it should have disappeared," Tenjou sighs. "From your discussion just now you still have more."

"A few bottles."

"Hand them over."

"Sir…?"

"Hand them over. Keeping them will do you more harm than good."

Tanji sighs and takes out a pouch bag. With dull eyes and down curled lips, Tanji hands it over to him.

"Um, Tenjou…"

"My second reason for coming here is you Hao Ren. The stunt you pulled yesterday has almost dried the entire southern region," Tenjou interrupts. "How were you able to do that? What happened to you after all these years?"

"I see, so what they said was true. Honestly, I didn't even know how I did that and concerning where I've been, I don't know. You see, when I woke up I had no memory of anything. Lately I have been having some… what's the right word? Flashbacks? No… well, a bit of my memories returned and that's how I recognized you."

"What? Open your soul space… right, you are only at the foundation realm. You can't open it yet and if I forcefully open it, your soul will be damaged."

"What?"

~Bang~

A loud sound roared and the ground quaked. Tenjou frowns and turns to a direction. He was staring at a wall, but his gaze had gone beyond the wall.

"No, no, no… it's happening now!?" Tanji yells while rushing to the bed side.

"What's happening?" Tenjou asks.

Shin and Hiro turns to Tanji with expressions full of questions. They were wondering what was happening.

"A legacy is about to open," Tanji replies. He pushed the bed aside and punched the ground as hard as he could. His hand burrowed into the deep ground, when he pulled it out, it came out with three pouch bags.

"There is no legacy on the academy grounds…"

"I assure you there is one," Tanji says and tosses Shin a bag. "Get Mia here." Shin nods and rushed out of the room.

"What's a legacy?" Hiro asks.

Not answering him, Tanji turns to a table in the room. On it were Hiro's things. His clothes and bags as well as the orb. Tanji grabs the bags and orb and turns to Hiro.

"What kind of legacy is it?"

"I'm forgetting something," Tanji mutters while ignoring Tenjou. He walks up to Hiro. "What is it?"

"What's happening?" Hiro asks as the space around him and Tanji distorts.

"What am I forgetting? Shit, I don't even have time to think about it." Tanji looks at Hiro. "Hold on to me."

Hiro frowns at his order but obeyed anyway. Shin enters the room alongside Mia. The space around them was distorted too. To Tenjou, who was okay, the four of them looked like illusionary bodies.

"Elder brother!" Mia calls.

"Hold on to Shin."

"Okay."

"Take care of her for me, Shin," Tanji says as a streak of light shot towards him and his environment changed. They had left the room.
