Her expression quickly change as she bows to him. "Thank you very much old ancestor,"
"I heard my grandkids went to your auction house. From what my grandson told me and your appearance here, it means you came to confirm Elta's cultivation with your eyes,"
She bit her lower lips and watches him nods and turns away as his voice sounded in her head. He was accurately right. She had recently stepped out of seclusion when the invitation to the party came. Initially, she had hidden the fact that she was out so she wouldn't attend. But a worker had given her an information about Elta, who she had not seen even once. As a result she ended here to confirm it herself.
From the side of his face, she could see his mouth move as he talks to Enji, but she didn't hear his words. The only thing she heard was his voice in her head.
"With those special eyes of yours I'm sure you can see past the cover I placed over her,"
That was true. Though she had to concentrate and pay a small price, she was able to see Elta's cultivation realm.
"I don't want anything about it divulged to another soul. The same goes for my grandson,"
"I understand, sir,"
"I hope so. Well, Make peace with your nascent soul and focus on soul cultivation. There's nothing wrong with your body cultivation,"
"Ladies and gentlemen, let's make welcome, the young master,"
A loud voice, from the stage spoke and everyone in the hall turned to the stage. There Hiro, who was neatly dressed in a red garment, was walking to the stage's front.
"Ahem, mhmm hmm," Hiro clears his throat and Silmi frowns and squint her eyes at him. She couldn't understand what her eyes were seeing. "I sincerely apologize for being late, distinguished guests. My name is Hiro and I am the son of Enji,"
His face was bright but is eyes were dead. As he squints his eyes and looked down on the crowd beneath him, it was had to tell if they were dead from tiredness or from disgust. His eyes moved about ever so slowly in the hall, they seemed to be searching for someone.
"As per my grandfather's wishes, I will be stepping out to rest. My bones hurts as I remain standing,"
Hiro's gaze lands on Silmi and they made eye contact with each other. It didn't take too long, his eyes moved to the other end of the room and lands on Lu Dei before looking back at the entire crowd.
"I thank you all for coming and I hereby declare the party has officially come to an end. May you all have safe journeys back home, please excuse me,"
With that Hiro turns around and walks away. Silmi swallows and forced a smile. What she had just seen had caused her eyes to ache and had almost caused her to throw up. At the Lu family's table, Lu Dei had his right eye closed. When Hiro had looked at him, it had forcefully closed on its own and refused to open. Furthermore, it ached like hell.
Lu Dei stood up and rushes away, behind their table was a door. The second elder watches as he leaves and turns back to the stage. He walked fast and passed the door, without noticing Elta who stood by it.
"Yawn, grandfather's split soul broke Hiro," a smile appears on her face. "Hiro said his bones ached, should I go disturb him or let him rest?"
She closes her eyes to think and after a while she opens them back up. "Disturb him, hehe,"
At another table at one of the hall, a lady stares at the stage with a smile on her face. "A mortal who fears not the immortals. Interesting, let's watch him for a few years, he maybe a good candidate,"
…
Izuhi leads Hiro out of the building, and Aki follows behind the duo closely. Hiro exhales and looks up at the moon. It wasn't until he left the building did the pressure on him disappear. But the pain he felt didn't disappear.
"The moon is beautiful," he voices.
Smiling, he inhales, taking in Yuan Qi as he did. Each breath he took in caused his body to ease up a bit but that wasn't enough to make the pain go away.
"Izuhi, take me to Lu Dei's courtyard,"
"Yes sir,"
"You have that with you, right?"
"Yes sir,"
"Alright," he turns to the moon. "The foundation realm isn't as I expected. It's a great step from the body tempering realm, but it feels quite weak,"
Izuhi forces a smile at his words and thought as he led on. "You were once at the ancestor realm, of course it would feel weak. After all it's just the beginning of cultivation,"
"When do I leave for school?" Hiro asks.
"In three days, sir," Izuhi replies.
"Is there something that needs to be prepared?"
"Not that I am aware of, everything has been prepared. I think the patriarch wants you to rest before you leave,"
"I'll talk to father, I'll leave tomorrow. Sorry I meant today, when the sun rises, by noon,"
"Huh?"
Izuhi kept walking but Aki raises her head to look at him. She couldn't quite understand why he was in a hurry to leave.
"Is there a reason for that sir?" Izuhi asked.
"Cultivation outside the manor was fun, I want to experience it again,"
"Oh,"
"How far is this city from the capital?"
"The Lu city, by carriage is a four days journey away from the capital city. By flight, depending on who is flying, it's one full day,"
"Alright, I see. Are we far from Lu Dei's courtyard?"
"We are almost there,"
"We'll wait for him, if he doesn't arrive any time soon we'll leave. I need to rest,"
"Sir, you should have let me deliver it,"
"I want to give it to him in person,"
"Hmm, there he is sir. He seems to be rushing away,"
"Huh?"
Hiro looks ahead and found a silhouette running away. He couldn't tell if it was Lu Dei, however he knew Izuhi was right.
"Lu Dei!" he yells at the top of his voice.
The silhouette halts and turns around. Izuhi was right, it was Lu Dei. He had his right eye closed and as he stared at Hiro with his left eye, Izuhi frowns at him.
The trio walks over to him, covering the distance between them. With a smile, hiro stretched his hand to Izuhi, who hands him a pair of daggers.
"Hey, I am so sorry for yelling like that. I was heading for your courtyard, luckily Izuhi saw you,"
"Heading to my courtyard?" Lu Dei asks avoiding Izuhi's scrutinizing gaze. His breathing had become calm and his face gave his usual nonchalant look.
"At the auction house on the day we met, I saw these daggers and asked father to buy them for me so I could give you. You seem to like daggers so I had got them as a gift for you,"
Lu Dei frowns. "You asked the patriarch to get them?"
"Yes, father said if I saw something I wanted I should let him know,"
"Does he know you are gifting it out?"
"Yeah, he was happy to know I am on good terms with you. Well, I hope to be on good terms and use this as my peace offering,"
"Why me? Aoi is the strongest of all of us, getting on his good side is the most beneficial,"
"Don't get me wrong, I need no benefit. I just want to eliminate the dangers by being on good terms,"
"Dangers? How am I dangerous? Haha, I'm not even strong,"
"The most dangerous aren't necessarily the strong or the strongest," Hiro replies and bit his lower lip. "Please, excuse me I need to head back to my courtyard to rest,"
He stretched the daggers to Lu Dei, who stares at them for a while. It seemed he was lost in thoughts. Lu Dei looks at Hiro and collects them.
"You've heard about the ranking war, right?"
"I have,"
"I see, the dangers you are eliminating concerns that,"
"Partially, yes but do remember there is life after the ranking war,"
"Hmm, then here's an advice, get on good terms with Lu Kai. He maybe quiet, but he should be at the top of your danger list,"
"I know, but now isn't the time to deal with it,"
"Huh? Why is that?"
"I just feel so. Sorry I really need to go,"
"See you later. Thanks for the gift,"
Lu Dei turns and walks away. Hiro smiles and turns too. He could swear there was something special about Lu Dei, he just knew it.
"Let's go,"
