Ebon Bash

"Hahahahaha!" Kinkaid laughs maniacally as he sends multiple slash waves flying at Ryker and Ming.

The two stallions run across the room in a bid to avoid the relentless assault.

The scythe wielder was showing no sign of slowing down as he creates more astral blades with every swing of his weapon.

"I thought facing you both would be more fun... Now it's getting boring!" Kinkaid paused.

Wearing an annoyed expression, he raised his hand. "Five minutes. I'll give you guys five minutes to devise a plan to stop me. Hurry up now, entertain me further!" He finished smacking his lips.

"Grr..." Ryker felt humiliated by the hunter's actions.

"He's mocking us." He snarled as he balled up his fists.

"His level of astral projection and manipulation is top tier," Ming stated.

"That scythe of his is annoying! We have to get it off of him."

Ming shakes her head. "No, from my calculations. A single hit from your ebon bash would be enough to tip the scale."

"Oh yeah? How am I going to get close enough to touch him!" Ryker snapped. "We've been at this for almost an hour, he's showing no sign of stopping and I'm nearing my limit."

"Reaper's storm..." Ming said softly. "An attack that utilises both projection and shaping for a devastating result. The fact that he can use these techniques with ease goes to show how formidable he is... If only I can commune with the captain, but he didn't carry any communication device with him. The human is suffering from fatigue and once he drops out, I won't be able to take him on by myself. "

"Oy, quit daydreaming and tell me you've come up with a plan."

"Shut your trap hole, human."

A vein popped on the ex-hunter's head. "What did you just say!?" He grabbed Ming's shirt.

"I don't have time for this. Listen." She leans closer and whispers into his ear. He lets her go and smirks.

"I can see that working. Why didn't you think of it sooner, lousy bot?"

"I'm sorry was your brain not working?"

"I won't even talk back." Ryker slammed his fists together. 'He's one of those that can conceal their astral colour just as Jackal mentioned... Nonetheless, this plan will work.'

He nods at Ming as the android dashes forward.

"A frontal attack!" Kinkaid exclaims excitedly.

He pulls his scythe back to ready an attack.

"I knew it," Ming smirked.

"Huh?"

She leapt forward and jumps over him landing on the back of his scythe's blade.

"Ryker, now!"

"Hey, get off!" Kinkaid shouted.

"You should focus on the more endearing danger, me!" Ryker's words caught his attention as the ex-hunter dashes forward as well while stretching his right arm.

'Here we go. I can't afford to fail now. I Concentrate my astral into my fist and just as I'm about to make contact, I release everything I've got!'

"Ebon Bash!"

Ryker's fist connected with the struggling Kinkaid which resulted in a large explosion that sent all of them flying in different directions.

"Tck, it's still incomplete." Ryker was the first to get up. Blood dripping from his head, he scanned the room. Ming had gotten on her feet as well, her body was covered in bruises as she rushes towards his side.

Ryker grinned. "I did it!"

Whack!

"Ow!" The ex-hunter rubbed his forehead. "What did you do that for?"

"Yoy were supposed to knock him out, not self-destruct with me in the picture!"

"Sorry... I only just learned astral projection. We never did get the time to proceed with my next lesson so I couldn't control my output."

Ming silently gazed at the Ex-hunter.

"What?"

She crept closer and grabbed his face.

"Oww. Hey! Be careful. What do you think you're doing?"

Ignoring his rants, she pulled down his eyelids. "Irises shows there's no sign of concussion, so where could the problem be. Perhaps, he's hallucinating..." She talked to herself loudly as she scanned his body.

"What do you think you're doing, bot?"

"You just apologised... I'm sure, you must have hit your head hard."

"..."

"..."

"I hate you, hope you know that?"

"Whatever..." She smiles.

"Kikikikiki." They heard Kinkaid's laughter and turned around on alert.

"Huh?"

They both tilted their heads over the sight that they beheld. The S-grade hunter lies unconscious on the floor, yet he was...

"He's laughing."

"Even though he's unconscious."

"This guy is on a whole different level of creepy."

"Agreed."

They cuffed the unconscious hunter and tossed him into the room where they previously locked Mysty.

"Phew!" Ryker plopped to the floor as he sighed in relief.

"I'm glad that's over with."

"Good job."

"Eh?" Ryker widened his eyes. "For a second there, It sounded like you complimented me." He said with a smirk.

"Don't push your luck, I have to fix up the damages the cruiser has taken and you're going to assist me. After that, we're resuming your training."

Ryker grumbled. "Is there no fun in your dictionary?"

She responded by handing him a mop.

"I hate you."
