Chapter 199: Burn All Corpses

~ Third Person's Point of View ~

The crows sauntered and wandered around the tree hut. It came from the corpses that were scattered throughout the entire the forest.

The rays of sunshine touched and directed to Cartlon's face through the opening.

He was awakened by the sounds of the crows and the warmth brought by the sun.

"It seemed to be a quiet place,"

He murmured as he stretched out his arms.

"Alice,"

Out of the blue, he remembered her majesty. He recalled the pledges that he has said.

Cartlon took a deep breath and looked for water. The taste and its cooling effect helped and encouraged him to keep breathing and alive.

Quietly, he looked around to see Ephor and the wounded guard. But he only saw Ephor in a corner.

He said, "Too late to keep moving,"

He stood up and almost forgot that he was wounded. It might not be as severe as the guard, still, he needed to rest.
