Entering the Academy.

In the Hyuga clan's dojo, two children could be seen sparring while few adults oversaw the fight. The fight was between Neji and Hinata. Unlike in the anime Neji now didn't hold any grudge against Hinata and was holding back. 4 years had passed and Neji was now 8 years old and had activated his byakugan receiving much praise from Hiashi.

In this 4 years besides train his "gentle fist" Neji engaged himself in self rule based physical training just like rock lee did in the anime. Neji now looked more muscular than his previous self in the anime. He had embarked in this pursuit to increase his stamina and to lay foundation for the hachimon tonkkou. Neji spent most of his time in training and used the rest to study from the hokage's library , in this 4 years he had grown familiar with the hokage. He would play shogi with the hokage in return for his use of the library. Neji used this opportunity to scout the scroll of sealing. Neji pestered the Hokage to teach him few tricks so he learnt Shadow clone technique, Shuriken shadow clone technique and a Sarutobi clan special secret technique called "fire release: Ash pile burning". The hokage indulged Neji's request to teach him some ninjutsu because he was intrigued by the aspect of taijutsu specialist trying to perform ninjutsu, but to Hiruzen's surprise Neji easily learned them.

Neji who was in the defensive till now start to begin his assault that easily overwhelms Hinata and she falls down. Hiashi who saw this just shook his head and left the dojo. He was naturally disappointed in his daughter, even her younger sister Hanabi was able to win against her so he lost interest in training Hinata and left it up to Neji. He perceived Hinata to be weak and cowardly so he revoked her successor title and choose Hanabi.

Neji knew that Hinata was not weak but he didn't speak for her as she had to become team 8's member so that her timeline doesn't change. Compared to the anime Hinata was not afraid of Neji but she respected him. He was always kind to her and pointed out her mistake without belittling her. To her Neji was like a real brother.

" Lady Hinata let us stop here for today, you need to put more power behind your strike, because your enemy will not be as merciful as you" said Neji

" I will try harder, Neji nii san " was all she said and looked to the courtyard where her father was training her sister.Tears started to well up in her eyes.

Neji decided to cheer her up and divert her attention " i saw you yesterday bring a tattered red scarf home whose was it ?" Neji asked with a serious look. Neji already knew the answer and he had made sure that Hinata got saved by Naruto. After confirming that their timeline was not changed he tracked down the bullies and beat them to a pulp, permanently drilling fear into their minds as the white eyed demon.

Hinata's face became red when Neji inquired about the scarf and she lied that it was hers that got torn in the vegetation when she ran.

It was laughable but Neji didn't continue to ask her about it and sent her away.

After another round of sparring with his father, Neji decided to go out to the woods near his house to train. This place was spacious and perfect for his other training, here he practiced rock lee's strong fist, his shuriken training inspired by the uchiha style and finally his ninjutsu training.

After totally exhausting himself he trains his byakugan. In the anime when he fights against kidoumaru he was easily wounded due to the blindspot on his 3rd thoracic vertebra and his eyes could only see upto a maximum of 50 meters. So he was constantly training to overcome his limitations. Neji had overall mastered the basics of gentle fist, he could now produce kaitan but due to his small chakra reserve he could only do it once. He mastered the gentle fist technique 64 strikes and tenkketsu needle. He was working towards 128 strike.

Neji decided that it was time for him to master the hiraijin technique of the fourth hokage. He was planning on asking Sandaime to help him.But he was flatly rejected due to it being a S grade technique and Neji was still lacking the necessary chakra.

Neji continued to practice to improve his chakra, since he couldn't master a S grade technique then he decided to master an A grade technique he knew, the Rasengan.

One year passed by quickly.

Neji was lying on the ground in the woods. He was completely exhausted, It took him 6 months to master the Rasengan.

" Damn that Naruto is truly a monster, to think that he mastered it in 1 week. I can't even compare to him in terms of stamina" Neji muttered under his breath. It must be good be a jinchuuriki thought Neji.

Neji knew that his "other training" was monitored by both Hiashi and the sandaime but since he made it look like he accidentally discovered the technique they didn't get suspicious. Neji was not concerned about the spying methods of Hiashi but he deeply dreaded the crystal ball divination of the Sandaime.

Neji threw these thoughts to the back of his mind and decided to return to his home. After a hot bath and a delicious meal he was rejuvenated. Today was the big day. Neji was going to attend the academy for the first time. Even though he was now powerful as a genin he still chose to enter the academy and spend 3 years before graduating. This was because he wanted to leech of some powerful jutsu from the home class teacher. He set his target on Ebisu sensei also fondly known as the closet pervert by Naruto. Neji also didn't plan to expedite his graduation because doing so will only place him in the ANBU which was no fun.

Also the the uchiha clans extermination would happen in two years.(Neji was secretly relieved as Danzo wasn't interested in the Byakugan.) The hectic timeline was what drove Neji to improve himself.

Hizashi and Hinata came to send off Neji. Neji dressed himself exactly like in the anime and went of to the academy.

Neji entered his classroom. He was greeted by the sounds of his classmates making while playing around. There was still some time before the classes started so the commotion by the students. Seeing a new kid with weird tattoo on his forehead enter the class a few bullies tried to harass him so that they make him understand where he stood.

Neji wasn't interested in these clowns attics and just palmed them each sending them flying. This terrified the entire class. The buffoons who got blown earlier had fainted, their friends came to avenge them only to be beaten again by Neji. Now the entire class maintained pin drop silence as all the students felt the primal fear towards this thug student. Some even swooned due to fear.

Neji activated his byakugan and could see the teacher approaching his class room so he went and woke the fainted students and warned them never to speak of what happened with an evil grin on his face. They could do nothing so they only nodded their head like chicken pecking grains.
