Chapter 13 Battle of the Luna River (2)

While the battle raged up above , Nightfall's army continued to forge tunnels to reach the capital.

He felt belittled having to take care of a little child who had no experience in warfare. Regardless he had to let the rest of the army do the work for him.

Despite all the carnage below ground Pitch still swam around Nightfall with energy and enthusiasm.

"So what is Mom doing up there?" asked Pitch

"She's busy"

"Busy with what"

"You don't want to know."

Void's army was slowly gaining progress in the river and despite the thousands of Hydrocrystals fighting against them, the enemy's numbers were dwindling.

Void knew in order to prevent the arrival of more reinforcements they would have to attack the source ,the town. She was eager to face the support force's leader Nyami the only person she knew was capable of halting her goal.

Void watched eagerly as Nyami fought his way through her ranks. Nyami was aware of her as well and extended his claws, intending to cut through her scales.

Void mimicked his response and charged towards him as well and once they met a large splash occurred followed by the startling sound of a thunderclap.

 Fang , Hydrax and Neo could do nothing but watch as the vicious air duel dragged on. Void and Nyami continued to soar against each other, biting and mauling each other sometimes by the neck, tail or legs.

Their wings flapped violently , exposing their scaly chests that had broadened to accommodate to the thinning air. Nyami had finally gotten an advantage and grabbed Void by her legs. However Void exploited this moment to wrap her tail around his neck , his vision instantly blurred and before he could fight back he fell back down to the ground unconscious.
