Chapter 11 Breaking Free

"Fang?!" Void exclaimed with sparks dancing around in her pupils. "I was trying to get Nyami."

Her immediate outburst had caused Fang to try to generate a fire to defend himself. However it was pointless as the whole cave was still wet and humid.

Void closed her eyes to calm herself down and placed her left claw on her head.

"Very well you can't have everything you want."

"You will die soon anyway." she said wtih a smile

"Not yet I won't" said Fang before diving down into the cave's lake only to find where he entered packed with aggressive electric eels. He could see them smacking each other with their tails and creating deadly electric volts as a result.

Realising there was no escape for now he returned to the dry part of the cave filled with moving reflections of the lake's currents.

He decided in his mind it was better off to ask Void some questions for the time being.

"So who are you , and why haven't I heard about you."

"I am Void of the Serpentines and why you don't know us is because nobody knows except my own kind ."

"So what are trying to achieve by killing my mentor." he asked boldly

"To make way for the invasion of the capital"

"And what do you have against them"

"Oh I have nothing against them personally, I'm against their agendas."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Haven't you wondered why they started sending so many kids to this planet to train recently in modern times"

"To make them better people and to prepare-"

"Wrong! They're only trying to increase their strength to keep the Pyronovas at bay and they will use you to help defeat them"

"They don't care about your goals , they only want to use you like the All Dragon did to me."

Fang was shocked at this statement since the All Dragon had died several centuries ago , how old was Void he wondered.

"Yes Fang, I existed a long time before the Deity twins were born."

"We were the first race the All Dragon had made , he told us we would co-exist with another race that he was planning to create. I grew fond of him and we eventually had an affair."

Fang listened to her story with no idea if what she was saying was true or not.

"But then I found out that he was merely using our powers combined with his to make his own children. Once I found out he was going to kill us after , we the Serpentines rebelled against him."

"We lost of course, and then he put us all to sleep in the deepest part of the ocean."

"But once we woke up again , a Pyronova spirit told me everything that had happened on this planet and then I realised that the dragon council was no different from the All-Dragon."

While Fang was trying to make sense of the story Void claimed to be true he noticed Void's left paw circling in the water. Before he could react several bolts appeared in the water all trailing towards him.

He thought of climbing to top but the cave wall was too smooth and slippery and even if he did escape he would die from the pressure of being so deep underwater.

For the first time he was at a dead end then he heard a dull noise getting louder and louder and without warning the cave wall broke open.

He felt a familiar tail curling around him and even though the place was full of water he could still breathe Nyami had rescued him.

On the other side Void's eyes glowed yellow for a moment before they teleported out of the sea. Infuriated that both had Fang escaped so easily, she went out to tell the rest of her army it was now time to commence the invasion.

Once they had emerged from the river , Hydrax who felt anxious of where Fang had been taken was now relieved he had come back safe and sound, for now.

Nyami shared a brief memory from Void with Hydrax and all of them now knew they had to take action. Before Void attacked Raptilia's capital whose army had not experienced a battle since the end of the Dragonian Civil War.
