After taiyi checked her one more time on the fourth day he nodded with a small smile.

''You can start working tomorrow. Your leg is now better and your eye is now open. There is still some blue around it but at least it doesn't look as unsightly as before. I will send notice to Wen guifei's servants. Lan Lian, be careful. It's palace.''

Day after Lan Lian went to the main stewards office with small pack of personal items and when she said goodbyes to Heng Ming she was sent with small step carriage.

As third grade servant by guifei's side she was still high grade servant. The guard on palace doors let her enter as soon the servants showed her papers. Actually she wore special hat on her head and had simple fu's clothes.

Before she arrived at Wen guifei's palace she met few concubines and respectfully waited with other servants on the side with bowed head. She sighed inwardly. So many of them, why are they running around, what us going on, but as she was mute she couldn't ask.

But not asking questions is better. Being dumb and mute maybe even more.

Wen guifei's tianjin looked at her and just waved his hand. "I heard about your story. Being third grade servant by our ningniang should be honour for someone from your background. He could see her calmly bidding and felt bit happier.

" Someone told me you don't mind being garden servant?"

Lou Lian nodded in acceptance.

"Even as third grade servant you must learn many things. Momo Jia will teach you. If you serve well you will be rewarded. Don't worry about anything else."

Lou Lian bowed as she saw him leaving and followed one young female servant that cheerfully chirped.

"Wen guifei is someone who is good master. If you work good she will certainly treat you well. The food and clothes you will get often new and of good quality. She is not most favored but Emperor never slighted her. Now come. Here are our rooms. We sleep two people in each room. I came to tale you as from now on me and you will share one room."

Lan Lian smiled as she saw actually comfortable looking room with high beds and even heater in mid of room. It seems she won't be at least cold when she comes back from her duties.

"By the way, my name is Nuo Mei Hua. But everyone call me Meimei. I heard you are Lan Lian and have problems with talking. Don't worry. As you can see, I talk for ten people. I hope you don't mind?"

Lan Lian shook her head with big smile.

Meimei happily jumped and pointed at package on her side of the bed.

"That is your working clothes. For now two sets including underclothes, socks and shoes. You will get two more sets for outside."

Lan Lian looked at her questioningly. Outside?

"Wen guifei sometimes leaves palace. This year we will go to the summer palace outside the city to escape the heat. When we travel we must wear appropriate clothes do we don't loose her race. How can you travel in your working clothes. That deffinately can't happen."

Lan Lian pointed at outside and the looked at her as she motioned working and Meimei shook her head.

"You will tend for now just few potted flowers outside and clean with us the dust in surroundings. There isn't much work to do, to tell you the truth, most of time we play around or some even embroider to add for their future. When there is work we do it together and then play again."
