Chapter 18 The Shoulder To lean On

At the same moment, on a snowy winter dark night in the outskirts of Jolly City, a mansion protected with electrifying high fences and guards outside positioned within every three meters of each other.

Inside of the mansion, on the upper floor in a bedroom was Josief deep in sleep, but his face showing troubled expressions and changed his bodies position frequently showing that he was having a nightmare.

"NOO!"Josief woke up and shouted stretching out his hand as if he was trying to save something. He then remembered that he was knocked out, he hopped out of bed and glanced across the room. Josief immediately understood, he was not in his house.

After standing in a defensive position for some time, he checked to see if there were any danger in the room. He then saw a patch of clothes ready, which he dressed himself up.

When he was just about finished with dressing up, he heard someone knocking at the door and opening it, and it was a maid. The maid gave Josief a small bow and said "Mistress Melina is waiting downstairs, for you!", then she left the room right after.

After the maid had left, Josief sighed of relief. He had pondered if he was in an enemy terrain, but with the proof from the maid he could relax down. Josief then calmed his mind down, collected his scattered thoughts and he walked out of the room.

When Josief had walked out of the room, he saw big the hallway was, the walls were was clean white, but filled with big famous paintings, at some corners there were plants, some were big others small.

After Josief walked for some time, he had then finally found the stairs, and to which led to a living room. When he walked down to the living room he could see a half a dozen guards and Melina was sitting elegantly in her stylish, red madder sofa. When Josief had come down Melina rose up from the sofa, and walked closer to him, She looked at him with a bright smile.

She was seeing her savior, the person who had saved her from a terrible fate. When they had first met, he looked poor and dirty, but after when he had saved her. He looked so handsome, with even those dirty marks over his face and body. Which girl hasn't dreamt of her white knight saving her from troubles. It was a bit different for Melina, but nearly the same at the same time.

Melina then sent her guards out, after that she led Josief to sit down and with talk with her. Then the first thing when they had sat down she looked deep into his eyes and said "Im sorry for meeting this way." with an apologetic expression.

"Its fine, okey!" Josief answered while smiling awkwardly. They started a conservation of what happened after Josief left her in the police station, to which she told how the Hotaru family reacted to her not meeting up to dinner with her fiancé. It ended with they feeling not appreciated and dissolved the engagement.

While she was telling Josief the story, her expression was miserable and her voice started shaking, to which the reason was that to her this was the last resort to heal her mother back to health and now it was gone with the break down of the engagement.

Josief who saw her sorrowful express, rushed and gave her a hug and to which Melina leaned on and cried out her tears and while Melina was crying on his shoulders, on Josief was supporting her as she let out her sadness on his shoulders.

After Melina had calmed down and stopped crying, she hid her face away from him of embarrassment.

"I'm so sorry, for letting you seeing such an ugly fide of me." She said while hiding her face with her small petite hands.

"Its completely okey, you don't need to apologize." Josief with a serious face, and continued with "I pretty sure that your mother is a happy and feels very blessed to have such filial daughter as you.".

Melina smiled when she heard Josief say that, which made her smile from it and fueled the fire in her heart to get her mother a faster recovery.

Melina then noticed her face was close up to Josiefs face, to which she almost breathe the same air as him. She felt herself panicky and put distanced between them.

Josief was confused by her action, and his face showed a bewildered expression. When Melina saw his reaction, she giggled and to with eased the tension straight away. They continued with their conversation, and started to learn more about each other this continued for hours until the sun started to rise.

To which they exchanged their contacts to be able to talk to each other. Josief called a cabe to drive him home, so when the cab got to the mansion, Josief and Melina said their goodbyes, and drove off to home with the cab. While it was driving away, Melina looked at it with a beaming smile.

In the cab, Josief was happy and smiled. A big section of his three goals were now more secured. His First He now a has connection to one with money, and with that it would help acquire resources which would help to make his strength grow rapidly faster.

The second other goal was to travel to the border between Jolly City and Hollow City. There is a auction which happens in start of February, in that auction a defense armor, The Violet Flashvest.

The Violet Flashvest was a defense shield around the vest, it could protect the user from damaged while he was fighting but only as long he has the will to fight.

The best part is that it could get improve, usually when a defense armor was no useless, cultivators tried to buy a new armor and got used another, but The Violet Flashvest was different.

When the cabdriver had arrived in his destination, Josief quickly went out, but just then from the cab. The driver tilted down his window and said "Lad, you can tell them. I will pray for your success." and drove fast away.

While the cab drove away, Josief standing with a befuddled expression from what he just had heard.
