Rin Replaced (BL)

Tragically, Rin Grace - just your average person going about their day - was caught in a terrible accident. Amidst a heated argument, he stumbled and fell into oncoming traffic, causing a car to hit him, knocking him unconscious. At the same time, in another world, Misha Minari, an assassin, was shot. Fortunately, Misha woke up in a hospital bed, where he was greeted by an unfamiliar face standing beside him. "You seem to be fine. Next time, don't run out in front of my car. I will be handling the bill. Take care, Mr. Grace." He says as the door closes behind him. The man who just left was Jay Fenrick, the Crown Prince himself. Misha was feeling very confused and uncertain. He looked around, trying to make sense of his surroundings, but it was all too bewildering. Suddenly, he noticed something strange - his hands looked different. In fact, they didn't even seem like his own hands at all. Misha rushed over to a nearby mirror, and, to his horror, he saw a stranger staring back at him. It was clear that he was no longer in his own body, and he was now someone else entirely. What happened to the original Rin Grace? How did Misha end up as the Crown Prince's bodyguard, and what will Misha do now? Uploads Mon, Wed, Fri.

Rin

I woke up in the morning with a splitting headache. I haven't felt this shitty since I got blackout drunk at my father's funeral. It was a great time, haha. After a couple of hours of routine tests and attempts to contact my family, the hospital and I decided it was time for me to leave. I couldn't figure out what I should do, So I called the nerd Anon and asked for help. He seemed reluctant, but I guess he decided to help. He should be here any minute. I stare out the window and see a parking garage down below. I spot Anon. He has someone with him. I guess it's the rude prince. Ugh, I'm not looking forward to this. Just before they crossed the street, I noticed two men lurking in the parking garage. They seem like they are watching Anon and the prince. They don't have cameras either, so they aren't paparazzi. Eh, whatever, not my problem. I better get ready to leave. It's time for me to put my undercover skills to work and blend into this new life. I think, for now, it's best if I fully immerse myself into replacing Rin Grace.

After Anon explained that I had only one living relative, I felt more relaxed. I won't have a handful of people to deal with, so that is a plus. Now it's time to see where I live. We start walking towards the parking garage. I don't want to have to deal with those stalkers. I hope they left. It's best if I don't get involved. Just as I think that, I get a glimpse of someone near one of the parked cars. As we get closer to the entrance, the man crouches down and disappears. God dammit. I don't feel like dealing with this. I don't know what this body is capable of, and I'm not at my best physically. However, if I don't do anything, the rude prince and Anon might get hurt. I guess it can't be helped. I need them, so I can settle into this place. I take a few steps ahead of Anon and scan the garage. I spot one guy hiding to my left.

I don't see the other one, but that is one of the ones I saw before. Looks like I get to test what this body can do. The man spots me and lunges out from the car he was hiding behind. I push Anon and the prince out of the way and crouch down. Mr. Rude Prince is loud; I can't pinpoint his location and tell the distance to time my attack. Screw it, I'll wing it. I dart out and run along the left inside wall. I go prone to see if I can see him from under the cars. I found you fucker. I jump over the car and kick him in the face.

-Thwack-

"Ahhhhh!!!" The man yells out as I pin him to the ground.

I lift him by his coat and slam him into the car.

"Where's your buddy? I saw you two earlier, so don't play dumb?" I ask the guy who is bleeding from his nose and mouth.

"Ugh, you psycho! I don't know what you are talking about." The man's eyes shift towards the back right corner of the garage.

"Ah, so that's where he is," I say with a grin. I slam my elbow into the guy's face and knock him out.

I throw his limp body to the ground and crouch back down. Just as I'm about to move, the prince comes over to me.

"What are you doing??!!?! You can't just knock someone out!!"

Geez, for someone who needs to be on guard his whole life, he's pretty oblivious to the danger. I pull open his jacket and show him the pistol strapped to his chest.

"What am I doing? Saving your life. You're welcome." I say while removing the gun and tucking it into my waistband.

The prince looks at me with a dumbfounded face. Fuck, I made a mistake. I didn't think about how this might look. However, I can't worry about this right now.

"Look, there is another guy in that corner. You aren't safe here. Go back and wait till I'm done." I demand as I begin to move.

The prince reaches out his hand and grabs my arm.

"Are you trying to be some hero? Do you miss hospital food that much? You're going to get yourself hurt."

I stare at him with a confused look. Is he serious right now? He's a royal in a dangerous situation, yet he's worried about me?

"I get your concern, but I can handle this much. I mean, look at my qualifications." I smile as I gesture to the unconscious man on the ground.

"At least let me help you." He says with a defeated look.

"Nuh-uh. It is not happening. You'll distract me. Think of this as a form of compensation for your help today. Now we're even." I say as I pat his face.

What a big softie this guy is.

I leave him with the knocked-out guy and quietly make my way to the back of the parking garage. I weave in and out of the cars till I get to the back corner. I don't see anyone. I wasted too much time indulging the prince, and the guy got away. I mean, I can't say I didn't expect him to run. After his buddy yelled out in pain, it echoed through the whole garage. There was no way he didn't hear it. I searched the next floor up and around the building, but he was nowhere to be found. I return to the prince and Anon and see the security guard putting zip ties on the man's wrists.

"Did you find him?" Anon asks while walking towards me.

"No, he must've bolted when that dude shouted. So, what's going to happen now? Am I going to be arrested for assault?" I ask.

I am concerned. I don't know how this world's justice system works.

"Probably," Anon says in a cold tone.

Wow, the guy doesn't hold back, does he?

"Well, that's unfortunate," I said while shrugging my shoulders.

I doubt they will let me go to jail. I mean, stopped a possible assassination attempt on the prince's life.

"Knock it off, Anon. No, you won't go to jail. I just found my photo in his phone, as well as some texts about "ending my reign." The police will be here soon, and we will handle it." The prince looks stern but unfazed.

How often does this have to happen for someone to become used to it?

"So, you're saying I work as a barista at a local coffee shop? I'm a part-timer?" I ask Anon while we wait for the police to stop talking to Prince Jay.

"Seems so. I wonder how you can take down a man that size after being in the hospital." Anon says while looking puzzled.

Honestly, I was surprised, too. I have the knowledge and skills to do so, but I was sure this body would have a hard time. When I jumped over the car, it felt effortless. This guy must have excellent core strength. He's not an average part-timer. He has to have some other kind of background. Maybe he is a part of a sports league or something. He's scrawny but doesn't lack strength or agility. I can't wait to learn more about this guy. We finished up with the police and headed to my new home. We pulled up to a luxury apartment complex.

"Are you sure I'm just a part-timer? Seems like I have some money to live in a place like this." I say while looking toward the top of the building.

"Haha, that's what I thought too. I mean, how could a lowly barista afford to live here? AHAHA!!!" Anon breaks out into laughter.

The dude has no chill.

"It's your cousin's place. You live with him." Anon says while wiping away tears.

Ah, of course. I wouldn't be that lucky. We head inside and into the elevator. We exit on the top floor, which is split into two penthouses. We head to the front door and knock. The door flies open, and a very toned and tall man lunges out, jumping into my arms. Surprisingly enough, I managed to catch him without falling.

"WAAAAHHH!!! Rin! You never stay out all night! Where were you?!?!"

Huh? Who the fuck is this giant man-child?

Thank you for reading Rin Replaced!

Look forward to more in the next chapter!!
