Chapter 4

"Okay, okay. Let me explain. So, the Sage had two sons. Err… they fought for who to receive his blessing and because they couldn't reconcile with each other after they died or something, they kept reincarnating. And this led to fighting in each reincarnation. I'm the third reincarnation of Ashura, who is the youngest son, by the way."

"So you expect us to believe you're the reincarnation of the son of a God-like figure?"

He blinked and thought hard. "Well, it's not a lie. Like, their families kept fighting for ages. Ashura's children were divided into the Senju and Uzumaki. I think the Uzumaki wanted nothing with the petty fight, while the Senju went at it for some centuries. While Indra's, the eldest brother, just had the Uchiha. So, as you must know, the Senju and Uchiha kept fighting. It wasn't until they formed Konoha that some things were better."

Inoichi pinched his brow between his fingers. "You said the third reincarnation, who was the second?"

"Uchiha Madara and Senju Hashirama," he said in a 'duh' like tone. "Obviously, they still didn't reconcile with each other, because I still have some of Ashura's soul in me."

"Uh-huh. I don't think the founders knew about what you're saying, so come you know about… this."

"Yeah, well. Hagoromo told me about it. I also became confused about it. So yeah, I get you."

"And this Hagoromo is…?"

"Oh, that's the old man Sage." At the return of the raised eyebrow, he blushes and says, "That's the name of the Sage of Six Paths. Otsutsuki Hagoromo."

An explosive sigh is his answer. Still, Inoichi continues, "So you know you're the Sage's son's reincarnation because the Sage himself told you."

"Yeah, well. Kurama confirmed it."

Inoichi was totally asking for strength from the gods above, right now. She knew because that was the same face Kurama made whenever he annoyed him.

"And this Kurama would be…?"

"The Nine Tails, of course," he says with a nod. "He's one of Hagoromo's children after all."

"Now you're saying the Sage is the father of the tailed beasts?"

"Well, not exactly. He was the Juubi jinchuriki and before choosing his successor, he split the ten tails into nine tailed beasts and gave them life. That's where they come from. They were supposed to live among humanity but people feared them instead, which made them angry and sad. Kurama's the one that got the worst off because of his ability to—"

He stopped as Kurama flicked one of his big fingers at him, which, considering his size, was enough to rattle his body and make him tumble across his mind.

'Don't say anything personal about me, Naruto!!'

He shook his head and apologized to both his tenant and the people standing in front of him, who, he noted, were in a ready-to-attack stance.

"Why did your eyes change color?" Inoichi asked harshly.

"Oh. Sorry about that. Kurama doesn't like for personal stuff about him to be said without his consent," he said chagrined. "It's my fault. I blabber a lot when I'm anxious. And don't tend to think before speaking. Sorry."

Inoichi relaxed his posture, but the ANBU next to him were still tense and ready. Still, he sighed. "Well, 'Ashura'. I find it hard to believe you, though I know you think what you're saying is the truth. My colleagues and I will find it hard to believe you without proof of your claims."

Naruto hums as he tilts his head. "Well, I could show you the Six Paths Sage mode I gained after the old man Hagoromo made me his successor. I gain almost all his abilities, except for the Rinnegan as only an Indra reincarnation could have had it."

The last part is said sadly as he thinks of Sasuke. He wonders how he's doing now, but quickly erases the thought. Now is not the time to think of him, especially not when he's being interrogated.

Anyway, after saying that, he decided to do as he said and he called the power of the old man Sage gave him and he transforms easily, his skin gaining a fiery golden glow as black accents appear on him, two horns appear on his forehead as he takes this form, alongside the six truth seeking balls.

He only realized after he transformed that his arms and legs were now free, probably caused by an overcharge of his chakra. He looked down at his free limbs before dread sets into him.

After all, those were chakra-suppressing seals, which most likely assured the others that he won't attack. Thing that they must be not so sure now.

He glanced up in time to see the horror appearing in the face of Inoichi before a sword is shoved in front of his face. Naruto extends a hand from his neck, which grabs the blade, stopping it a couple of centimeters away from his neck.

He stepped back at the same time the man he was sure was Kakashi grabbed a tanto and jumps towards him. Naruto quickly formed other arms from his chakra and grabbed Kakashi and Inoichi, making sure not to harm them, while also doing the same for the other ANBU.

The door, which before now he had ignored but had known about the presence behind, opened to reveal Shikamaru's dad, whose shadow was already moving toward him in an attempt to trap him. Next came the Hokage in full battle armor, Emma already in his hands.

Naruto panicked. He first floated up to escape the shadow's user technique. Then he formed other arms to grab him. The Hokage was far more slippery, extending Emma, and, not wanting to damage him, he could only deflect, which caused a small cave-in, as the room was too small for them all to fight. Naruto covered the guys in his grasp in chakra and flew up, not wanting any harm to happen to them.

He flew until he broke the earth and escaped outside. He didn't manage to even breathe in relief before chaos ensued among the civilians and Shinobi who were nearby.

He gulped when he saw the Hokage come out from the hole he made in the earth, looking furious.

'What do I do, Kurama?!'

'Heh. This is your mess. Fix it yourself.'

He pouted internally. Though he didn't get time to complain when a fireball came to him, alongside other jutsus. In instinct, he made the Truth-seeking balls absorb the techniques thrown at him.

There was a silence in which everyone just looked at him.

Naruto disengaged. He carefully, but still quickly put Inoichi, Shikaku, Kakashi, and the other ANBU down and flew up before anyone could react.

"I'm sorry!" he said as he bowed and flew away. He could feel some pursuing him but perhaps it was his imagination, but he was sure he heard someone yell 'Stop'.

Not that he bothered to turn around to confirm. He flew away.
