Indifference

"And how exactly is that going to happen?" Zurich asked.

"Assume you were a Netflix customer that found out that the company was partnering up with a smaller company,how would you feel?" Cesar asked.

"Huh? How would I feel as a customer?"

"I guess I'd feel pretty good because a big company is helping a smaller one" Zurich answered.

"Exactly. That's what we're going for,and it may even erase some misconceptions" Cesar said.

"Misconceptions? Like what?" A board member,an averagely tall,white woman, asked. She wore an all white suit which went well with her hair—White.

"Misconceptions like Netflix is only for the rich" Cesar sighed. He didn't want to say it because they would go off track.

"What?! How preposterous! Those are false allegations" The woman said.

"Calm down ,shonda" Zurich said."No one accused us of that. It's just what's in the mind of the public,and we have to figure out a way to change it"

"Perfectly said,Mr Zurich" Cesar started."And there's no better way that the proposal I previously outlined"

"I see" Zurich muttered, stroking his hairless chin."We need to give this some thought. Expect our reply in the next two to three days" The man said,rising elegantly.

The other members followed as Finley ushered them out of meeting room.

"You've given us something to rack our brains on" Zurich said as he shook Herman's head.

"I hope you come to the right decision" Herman replied.

"That may be different from what you want" Zurich said indifferently as he left the room.

"I hope not" Cesar muttered as he escorted the members out of the building.

"A really brilliant pitch,sir" Finley said, walking towards Herman.

"Thank you. I hope they think so too" Cesar replied with a faint smile. After seeing them off,he went back to his quarters to change into more comfortable clothing.

Finley,on the other hand, spent his time supervising the cleaning staff as they arranged the meeting room,after which he commended the staff for all their efforts.

"Thank you sir for your kind words" The head of the cleaning staff said after Finley finished his speech.

"You're welcome. Let's all work together to make this organization bigger and better" Finley said before leaving.

"Such a beautiful soul" He heard someone mutter as he walked away.

"That's a first" Finley thought. He wasn't surprised,however. Only few people had seen his other side.

"We think a surveillance mission is crucial at this point" Dryle started.

"What? You wanna go into enemy lines?!" Mirai asked.

"We don't have a choice. We have to figure out the unknowns" Dryle replied."Which,if you didn't know,are a lot"

"I know,but.."

"We're gonna be fine" Dryle replied.

"Y'all really okay with this?" Mirai asked the others.

"Of course not,but this is crucial" Sryia replied.

"What if the enemy spots them?"

"That's not gonna happen because you're gonna go in with them" Sryia replied.

"What? Why?"

"Because you're a sniper and that's what you're supposed to do" Sryia replied."I didn't give you that gun for nothing. I gave you because I know what you're capable of"

"Shit. This is getting really complicated" Eleanor said."So Mirai and who else are going?"

"We want someone who can blend in. Someone who already looks like a party animal" Sryia said.

Immediately, everyone turned their gaze to Eleanor and smirked.

"What? Me? No, that's impossible. I'm not trained in spying and all those other stuffs"

"Neither are the others. You just have to suck it up,use your head,and avoid getting caught" Sryia replied.

"Wow,such great advice" Eleanor said sarcastically,rolling her eyes.

"Dryle will also accompany you both. She's in charge of mounting the cameras and microphones" Sryia continued."You just have to cover her: get her in and out without getting caught"

"Easier said than done" Sofia muttered. She glanced concernedly at Mirai,who was struggling to hold it inside."You okay?" She mouthed.

"Yeah" Mirai nodded.

The meeting ended about five minutes later with everyone lost in thought. This wasn't going to be their first mission,but they knew how terribly close they were to death in their last. None of them wanted to face that feeling ever again.

"Guys" Sofia rose."It's gonna be okay" She started. At present,they needed someone who could reassure them,and she was going to fill that role perfectly."I mean this isn't our first time doing something like this,and it's not gonna be our last. Let's train as hard as we can to see this through together" She said the last word in a whisper.

The speech,however,didn't have the desired effect. The girls still had gloomy looks.

"Come on guys,we gonna let a bunch of guys do this to us?!" Mirai rose.

"Do what?"

"Make us feel sad,make us give up even when the fight hasn't started"

"No,of course not" Jessica said.

"I can't hear you"

"No,of course not" The girls said louder.

"I said are we gonna let some guys tell us how to feel?"

"No! Of course not!" They shouted.

"Great" Mirai said,sitting.

"Thanks. They really needed that" Sofia said,sitting next to her.

"Not gonna lie. I also needed that" Mirai replied."And I kinda believe it now"

"Same here" Sofia said.

"You gonna use your powers if we get in trouble?" Mirai smirked.

"Yes but I hope we're not" She said, remembering Herman's words and her promise.

"Well,how'd it go?" Aevulis asked.

"I think it went smoothly. I've certainly given them something to ponder on" Herman replied.

"And you think that's a good thing?"

"Yes,I know it is" Herman replied before ending the call.

"Well,isn't he such a grouch" Aevulis muttered. He leaned back in his chair and sighed worriedly."I'm getting bored.I need something entertaining"

"Well,I think I can do something about that" A naked girl said, walking out of his bathroom.

"Hmm,I'd like to see you try" Aevulis smirked. His gaze travelled all over the girl's body ,and he was pleased with what he was seeing. He just hoped she knew how to use it to her advantage.

"Let's get our groove on" He said, groping her breast.
