Chapter 13

Despite Turpis being 33 years old, he didnt hear much about those creature existing. Turpis is technologically enipt, but he read lots of scientific study and concluded that a creature that can summon devil would make waves of news and study.

'Even this elf is a great specimen, but why didn't I hear or read any of those? the world sure is wide.' Turpis thought in wonder.

Turpis was about to open his mouth to ask more about the Loriths when Melfroy interrupted him. "Before we continue with our discussion about Loriths, let me ask you something, Brat. As a future student of mine, what is the meaning of this circle?" he said, pointing to the circle on the ground.

"My name is not 'Brat', it's Turpis" he replied with annoyance to Melfroy.'Getting called brat by the person who looks younger than me feels really weird' but he still stares and study at where Melfroy is pointing.

Turpis observed that the circle was divided into two equal portions, the one on the right side was filled with runes and symbols except for the smallest circle within which is blank. The left side which is the other half, also has small circle within but it is filled with runes and symbols, while the outer is blank.

As he pondered its meaning, he came to a realization. "I think this circle represents the relationship between the student and the teacher," he said, turning to Melfroy. "The left side represents the teacher who knows everything but still know nothing, the right side is the student who know nothing but has everything".

"Not bad," Melfroy nodded in satisfaction, his eyes scanning the intricate design of the circle and the symbols that adorned it. He was pleased with how it turned out, the lines were clean, and the symbols were precisely drawn. Without turning to Turpis, who was watching him curiously.

"Brat, this circle represents the balance between the student and the teacher," Melfroy explained, gesturing towards the circle.

Turpis, although annoyed still listened intently, trying to absorb everything that Melfroy was saying.

"The symbols and runes at the perimeter of the circle represents the journey of the student towards enlightenment of the world," Melfroy continued. "The symbols and shapes that extend outward the circle represent the obstacles that the student must overcome in order to achieve that enlightenment, this is also how we contact someone powerful to oversee everything in any ceremony."

Turpis nodded, feeling a sense of anticipation of his future, he was pretty sure that this pathway would not be easy and will be filled with thorns and pain. However, he didn't want to feel powerless again, and so with his head held high, he spoke with determination,"I'm ready".

Melfroy nodded, "okay then, stand in the right portion of the circle" he notioned as he also stand at the left side proportion of the circle.

As the ceremony progressed, the air around them began to thicken, and a faint humming sound could be heard in the cave. The symbols and shapes on the floor started to glow, emitting a soft light that gradually grew brighter and brighter.

Turpis felt a strange sensation coursing through his body, like a current of electricity flowing under his skin. He tried to resist, but his limbs moved of their own accord, walking towards the center of the circle where Melfroy was levitating.

Melfroy's eyes were closed, his body hovering several feet above the ground. His hair and robes floated around him, as if caught in an invisible breeze. Turpis watched in curiosity as Melfroy's body started to emit a bright aura, bathing the room in a warm, white light.

As Turpis approached Melfroy, he felt a surge of energy emanating from the arcanist. The aura enveloped him, and he felt a sense of calm and clarity wash over him. He closed his eyes, letting himself be absorbed by the energy of the ritual.

"Teacher and student, a bond so true,

A journey that starts anew,

A path of learning, side by side,

A journey where both will abide

In this relationship, there is a strength that binds,

The lessons learned, the skills refined.

Through challenges faced, and obstacles overcome,

The student grows, with the teacher's wisdom as one.

It takes courage and determination to seek out knowledge,

And humility to recognize the teacher's tutelage.

But in the end, it is the student who must wield,

The sword of knowledge, that the teacher's guidance has revealed

May Millennium, the tree of life, honor this bond, with a steadfast gaze,

For it is the foundation of wisdom and knowledge that we raise.

May the teacher's guidance, and the student's growth,

Be forever remembered, in this timeless oath."

As they spoke in unison, their voices blending together perfectly.

Melfroy placed his hands gently on Turpis' temples, and he closed his eyes in concentration, hoping that a phenomenon called "panlantaw" occured.

Panlantaw is a rare phenomenon that occurs when a teacher connects with a student on a deep level, allowing them to see glimpses of the student's past experiences and memories. It is said in the books that it is only a powerful tool for understanding and guiding the student's development.

However, during Melfroy's time in the Millennium Continent, he had only heard of this phenomenon as a mere legend. There had been only one recorded incident that was released to the public of it ever occurring. The legend stated that it was a ordinary teachers who possessed exceptional spiritual power and were in tune with the spiritual world. Melfroy had always been skeptical of the legend, thinking it was nothing more than a myth.

However, as Melfroy continued to hone his skills and grow in power, he delved deeper into the truth behind the panlantaw phenomenon. He discovered that while rare, it occurred more frequently than he had originally thought - happening once every 50 years. As he encountered more powerful figures in his travels, he noticed that many of them only accepted students into their inner circle who had experienced the panlantaw phenomenon during their initiation ceremony.
