16: Everyday Life of Hades (II)

Hades slowly went in in the bath made of a marble like material. He lied in the water "ha…". The water was too hot for many beings but not for him.

In the midst of his many thoughts, he closed his eyes and drifted away. He thought about the last couple of years. Was it a centuries? Decades? Or just a few years? He did not know and did not care. Time is different for gods and beside as he is almost always in the Underworld, he doesn't know when a year passes.

He thought about how he had changed, not just in term of power but also mentally. His thought process was not the same as before. The time he spent with the dead, ruling over one of the most prominent realms in all of history, had a profound effect on him.

He did not restrict himself, and he did what he wanted, except when he didn't… Well, this probably doesn't make any sense to mortals and some gods, and he might seem bi-polar. But for him it just make sense.

During all those years, he did not stop training. He achieved many divinities, so much that in terms of divinity, he may even rival Apollo.

Apollo… Apollo was extremely nerfed in the Percy Jackson's books. In Greeks mythology he was probably the strongest god. They are theories that he was stronger than Zeus and could have become the King of Olympus but for whatever reasons he decided not to.

If Apollo's divinities were cut into three, it would be possible to create with it three major gods. Also his principal divinity, Sun, is extremely over powered.

With sun comes light, so he had an affinity with light and I doubt anyone needs to be explained why light is Op. Fire is another element that comes with the sun and is also a strong element as one of the main elements of the universe. Nature also requires sunlight to survive since every plant, flower, animal, and even some immortal beings require it. And the power of the sun itself is already extremely strong.

Thinking about divinities made Hades remember the moment an which he became a god of magic.

(Flashback)

In an extremely hot realm, where the ground was just stone and many lakes of magma. A realm where neither the sun nor the stars shone. Where no sky dwelled in the above. And the air was covered by a crimson fog and dark brown dust that seemed trying to hide the horrors that lived beyond it.

A silver haired god floated with both of his legs crossed. He seemed to be nothing in that vast realm while in reality he was one of the most powerful being in the universe. Around him the wind flew in many directions creating currents of air.

He waved his hand and with it came a terrifying hurricane of ice. Coldness perpetrated the realm and fought against the heat of magma. The dust in the air transformed in Into snowflakes that fell on the magma river. But as they fell in it, sparks of fire were ejected in the air and melted the blueish snowflakes.

After that a purple aura drowned the ground and made many cracks in it that constantly healed. The wind dispersed the many dusts in the air that always came back. Out of the cracks in the ground came many types of weapons be it be swords, spears, arrows, axes and they flew at extremely high speed toward the many monster's that roamed this realm.

More time passed and the eternal fight continued. The god continued to constantly change the environment, sometime even with element for which he had no affinity with.

Cracks slowly afflicted space and time as Hades' determination grew even bigger. A part of Tartarus became complete chaos as blue and yellow light glimmered in the expanse of the domain. The atmosphere became like a broken mirror and shards of that mirror became misplaced in other places creating turmoil.

This lingered till an ineffable sound reverberated in the depths of reality. A fiery white light enveloped a part of Tartarus and it started to slowly changed everything from the ground, the air, the ambiance and the temperature.

The ground was covered by green grass that was wet from the morning dew. Red lush flowers blossomed in the harmonic soil. The flowers were full of thorns so sharp that it could even make immortals bleed. The sky was made of many variations of dark blue and purple like a painting of the night with a black sun shining high in the sky. No clouds could be seen covering that sky but still rain fell, blood red drops fell on the flowers like a sad day.

Reality had changed.

"Haha" a creepy laugh escaped Hades' mouth and coupled with his hand on his face he looked like a demon straight out of a fantasy story. An enormous grin was etched on his face. He could not contain his joy.

His laugh reverberated in the vast realm and it even reached a few beings that stood as tall as towers and were chained with extremely strong chains made of what seemed to be copper. A purple aura flickered because of his long repressed emotions.

"Finally" he screamed with his fist high in the air as if he was celebrating.

(End flashback)

A chuckle escaped Hades' mouth remembering the great time as he became a god of magic. He found it so fun, just manipulating the elements trying to get better at magic. But now to become better he needs much more time and precision.

To become better at reality warping, he would need to create totally different rules and create small realms with life in it. But this was not as fun as making art with ice. Reality warping is an art of details, precision, patience, and many other things. It's like creating a strong kingdom that would not fall against time.

He would probably start later to work on it again, but not now. He did not have the motivation to work alone on a project of this size.

Magic is not the only divinity that he gained in all those years. He had trained in the arts of many things, like weapons, desire, graveyards but he had also gained one of the strongest divinity…

Divinity of…
