Running away before school

Loki's question confused Jasmine but also made her quite happy. "Of course, I would love to live here!" She gazed at Sam. "Unless Sam decides otherwise."

Sam shook his head rapidly. "No. If you want us to stay here, so be it." Then he looked at Loki and said, "But we also need your brother's permission."

"Agreed," Loki said with a smile before turning serious. He went to his brother's room and asked if the twins could stay and live with them. "Sam is getting a job, while Jasmine is already an adventurer. Money won't be an issue for us as well, Darvin."

"They can if they want." Darvin scratched the back of his head. "But only if that's what they want."

"What do you mean?" Loki raised his brows.

"I mean, as long as you won't pressure Jasmine to stay here." Darvin shrugged nonchalantly. "She likes you, and she will do what you will ask. So it wouldn't be fair for Sam if you will manipulate Jasmine to stay here."

"I would never! They are my friends." Loki pretended to be offended. "How can you say something like that! You know me!"

"While it is true that I like you, and you are my brother," Darvin crossed his arms. "But you are my brother for less than a month, and I don't know you that well."

"Tsk." Loki clicked his tongue.

Then he heard a soft knock at the doors. When the doors opened, they saw Jasmine. "Are you two okay? Am I interrupting something?" Her eyes were wide and curious.

Darvin cleared his throat nervously. "We are just having a discussion." he turned his gaze to Jasmine and asked. "Is your brother fine with staying here?"

She nodded in agreement. "Sam is fine with it, as long as we have your permission." Jasmine shrugged. "We will understand if you want us to leave, though."

"Nah, you two can stay." Darvin smiled. "I have known Sam since we were children. I am more than happy to let you two live here."

Jasmine smiled widely at Darvin and hugged him. While Darvin chuckled awkwardly, Loki put his hand on Darvin's shoulder. "Thanks, bro."

Jasmine pulled away from Darvin and said. "Thank you."

After telling Sam they are allowed to live in this house, they help Jasmine unpack her stuff. They then helped her bring everything inside. They ate breakfast together with the twins, which Jasmine made.

They had two new roommates, and life seemed fun. Until... "Wait, isn't today Monday?" Darvin jumped out of his chair while everyone was watching the television, while Loki seemingly went out to get a drink.

"Yup." Jasmine yawned while eating the last spoonful of her cereal. "We have some free time until the afternoon, though." she pointed at the calendar on the wall.

"Why didn't you tell us sooner?!" Darvin glared at Sam, who was trying not to laugh. "Loki and I have school!"

"Speaking of Loki... Where the hell is he?" Sam started looking around, noticing that Loki had never returned with his drink. "Did he realize that it is Monday and ran away?" Sam laughed out loud. "Jeez. That guy!"

Meanwhile, Loki was at a cafe drinking coffee and reading a newspaper. He took a notebook and started writing things he knew from a novel. He wrote down a few names and their addresses. Their Locations and important dates. "Hiro Akatsuki..." Loki read one name out loud. "A Japanese name?"

He wrote the date March 12th and the hours 1:40 PM. "This is the day when the fourth villainess's little brother Hiro Akatsuki would commit suicide." Then he looked at his phone and checked today's date. It was March 9th. "Three days to go."

Then he began planning on saving Hiro. Although Hiro's elder sister is a powerful esper with an ability to control darkness, Hiro's potential would have been even greater. He awakened a powerful light element and would not only be able to control the light and create powerful attacks. He would be able to turn his body into light, allowing him to move at the speed of light.

"Pretty overpowered if you ask me..." Loki exclaimed while sipping coffee. He knew that Hiro would be an essential asset to the future of his plans of taking over the world. However, that would have to wait for a few days. He decided to show himself when Hiro was at his lowest point in life.

As soon as he finished his coffee and was ready to leave for work, his phone buzzed, indicating that someone had called him. Loki quickly answered it. "Hello? Yes."

"Loki, where are you?" Darvin sounded slightly annoyed. "It has been three hours since you left the house. We have school!"

Loki sighed. "Sorry, I am a little busy." He glanced at his watch; at 11:00 AM. "I'm currently at the cafe. I will go to school tomorrow."

"Dude..." Darvin sighed too. "You really hate schools, don't you?"

"Well, I don't understand the point of me going to school," Loki answered. "Besides, I am an adult. I can choose my own path."

"Tsk." Darvin clicked his tongue and ended the call.

"Hello? Hello?!" Loki tried reaching out until he realized that Darvin had already hanged up on the call. "Tsk." He clicked his tongue in annoyance.

"Uh... Loki?" He heard a voice behind him. When he looked back, he noticed Julia. She was wearing a maid's dress just like the rest of the waitresses. ​Her black hair was tied into a high ponytail, making it look neat and tidy.

"Oh, hi, Julia." Loki greeted her. "I didn't expect to see you here."

"I work here as a part-timer whenever I have free time." Julia felt a little embarrassed. But then she asked. "Why aren't you at school?"

"I decided to skip it today." He grinned at her, showing his teeth.

Julia gasped and covered her mouth. "You shouldn't do that~."

"Don't worry. It's just for today!" Loki chuckled. "Would you like to join me for a date after work?"

"Sure." Julia giggled. "Do you have anything in mind for our date?"

"Yes!" Loki smirked. "I would love to see your powers! So..."Loki paused for a second." how about we go somewhere where you could show me them without any disturbance?"

Julia's face flushed red. She looked nervous, but she agreed nonetheless. She was scared of showing off her powers in front of others. But this was Loki who asked her, and, seeing Loki's hopeful expression, Julia changed her decision.

"Yeah, okay." Julia couldn't help but smile. "Let's go to the gym after I finish my work." she took out her phone to check the hours and said. "I will be free in two hours. Feel free to order something else. It's on me!"

"You're so generous," Loki blushed a little seeing the girl trying so hard to impress him. "Then... I want one more cup of coffee."

"I'm on it!" Julia bowed with a smile.
