Roger's Sara?!

The hunters brought Roger back to their house, where Sara reprimanded him for his behavior.

Roger was speechless when he saw Sara. She looked exactly like his ex from his first reincarnation. They even had the same name. Could this be a coincidence? Together with the system, they had the same question 'how is this possible?'. In the past, Roger broke up with Sara because someone spread the rumors that she had cheated on him, but when the truth came, and he found out she was faithful, he was too embarrassed to ask for forgiveness.

"Are you insane?! You were assaulted the day before yesterday!"

"Insane? Perhaps I am, but who can say for sure?"

Sara glared at him with a hostile expression on her face. She wanted to smack him, but she stopped doing so because she did not want him to have a negative first impression of her after losing his memories. Sara was afraid that he would think poorly of her. She gave herself a few slow, deep breaths and poured herself a glass of wine.

Hunters brought Roger back to her house, which was currently in Sara's office. Roger was standing and gazing around the room as Sara was seated behind the desk. It was clear that Sara was a neat freak because the environment gave off the impression of being very well maintained. Roger was amazed by the extensive collection of books in the bookcase. They all exuded the air of a bygone era.

"You like reading books?"

"Huh? Oh, these quaint little volumes! These are necessary supplies for my training at the magical academy."

'Ah yes, magical academy. Of course, there must be something like a magic academy in this fantasy world.'

Roger's expression suggested that the idea of Sara enrolling in a school for magicians made him chuckle. In his past existence, Sara had a strong aversion to fictional things. Therefore, the very suggestion of magic would infuriate her.

"What on earth is so hilarious, Roger?"

"Absolutely nothing. How well-versed are you in the arts of magic?"

The question took Sara by surprise. Even though she was aware that Roger had experienced a shift in personality and had lost his memories, she presumed that he still possessed his common sense. The only persons allowed to enroll in the magic academy are those who have an extreme natural talent for the art.

"I am a pretty decent student, I suppose. Why do you ask?"

"Could you walk me through any of your books? I'm interested in learning more about the magical arts."

After finishing her glass of wine, Sara got up and walked over to the bookcase, where she made her selection with much consideration. She reached for the book that detailed one of the simplest theories of magic, one that even a novice like Roger would have no trouble comprehending. She blew the dust off the book and handed it to Roger.

"Are you able to read the heading?"

[Roger, you need to be quiet.]

"Huh? The title is 'The laws that govern mana.' I can read, yes."

Suddenly, Sara reached out and grabbed him by the collar before shoving him into the wall. She had already believed that Roger was not who he claimed to be because his demeanor, speech, and personality were utterly dissimilar. However, Roger was able to read, demonstrating that she was correct. Real Roger never learned how to read and write.

"Who the hell are you?!"

[You fool! I told you to keep your mouth shut!]

Roger paid no attention to the system and instead concentrated on the nuisance. He observed that Sara's hands were glowing in a manner comparable to when assassins released fireballs at him, and as a result, he had a rough concept of what she intended to do.

"Are you going to blow my head off?"

Roger fixed his gaze on Sara while smiling devilishly at her. He found it humorous to consider the possibility of being murdered by the same individual for a second time.

"Go on! Kill me! hehe!~ "

[What the heck is wrong with you?! What are we going to say? We need to figure it out!]

Sara remained motionless and mute as she stood there. The smile on Roger's face and the glint in his eyes frightened her. She let go of her hold and moved away from him in a cautious manner. Roger seized her just as she was about to scream for help, but he was able to prevent her from making a sound by covering her lips.

"Wow, this improved strength is doing wonders for my speed, would you agree, Sara?"

Roger flashed a grin and gave the impression of having a great deal of self-assurance, but in reality, he was just as agitated as Sara and the system. He cursed his own loose words for getting him into this predicament, in which he felt helpless and didn't know what to do.

'FUCK ME!' Roger cursed internally.

The poor girl was so terrified that she was shaking. The guy holding her was not the person she knew. That whoever possessed Roger's body appeared to be someone filled with malice. She could not chant spells and was unable to utilize chantless magic since Roger would start choking her whenever she tried to do one of those things.

"Shit! I made a mistake."

On the other hand, Roger was in a state of panic since the circumstances were hopeless, and there appeared to be no way out. He was debating whether or not it would be best to murder her. It would appear that no one outside heard the sound of them fighting or, at the very least, made no effort to see how they were doing.

"I see that you instructed them to stay away from your office no matter what. Right? Bad idea."

The hint of a tear came into her eye, and then, while keeping her mouth tightly closed, she began humming a tune that brought back sentimental recollections of Roger's previous existence. Roger fixed his gaze on her wet eyes and resumed humming from the point where she had previously stopped.

Sara was utterly perplexed by the imposter's knowledge of the tune. She was thinking, "How did he learn it? The imposter also stole Roger's memories, weren't they? But I don't see why he would act like he couldn't recall anything. " This situation made no sense for Sara. It would have been easy for him to get close to her by acting like Roger.

"How is it that he is familiar with this tune?"

In Roger's life before this one, Sara would comfort him by humming this tune whenever he felt depressed. Roger, therefore frequently heard Sara humming the tune.

'She's… Sara. My Sara…'

[She appeared to be calming down; what should we do now?]

Roger gazed at the terrified girl before continuing his conversation with the System.

"Should I maybe try to strangle her?"

"Hmpfffff!"

In her distress, Sara made a feeble attempt to yell but was unsuccessful. She kept trying to escape, but Roger was too strong for her. She looked with fear in Roger's emotionless eyes.

The System went into a panic when it realized that Roger had the potential to murder her. She had apprehensions about Roger due to her perception that he was highly erratic.

[NO! You said she's your Sara! It would help if you stopped acting like a psychopath!]

"So tell me, what would you recommend that I do?"

Roger's behavior of muttering to himself left Sara feeling much more frightened than his aggression. However, she detected a familiar change in Roger's eyes as she hummed the song, and because of this, she decided to give it another shot. She began humming the same tune over and over again.

[Why is she doing?]

Sara's strange behavior threw the System for a loop, but it also picked up Roger's feelings, becoming more positive. As a result, the System sought a means to escape this situation.

The System delved into the folklore and the mythology to see if there was anything there that could explain Roger's actions satisfactorily. An ancient legend tells the story of a hero who merged his soul with god to defeat the evil king of demons. The fusion entirely altered his personality, and he even gained some of the god's wisdom in the process. Roger received this information from the System, and the two continued their discussion inside his head.

[This will work, nobles only share this legend among members of the nobility; hence, the original Roger should not even be aware of this.]

"But isn't this more or less what ended up happening in real life?"

[What exactly are you trying to say, Roger?]

". You also altered my personality, as I never had murderous intentions before."

[That's bullshit, and you know it!]

"I was so pure and couldn't even kill a fly!"

[… The first person you killed was not even after reincarnating as Loki; you killed a person in your first world! You were a fucking kid!]

"Shut up…"

After the talk with the System, he knew the only way out was to fake his way out. He looked away from Sara and said.

"Sorry, Sara, I wasn't feeling like myself."

"HUMMPF HUMPF!"

[At least stop choking her, you idiot!]

"Oh yeah, Sara. If I released your mouth, do you promise not to shout?"

Roger asked gently while picking up a knife off the table. Roger's pulse was pounding extremely fast because he did not wish to murder her, but he intended to do so if it turned out to be necessary.

Sara saw him picking up a knife off the table and felt like her soul was leaving the body. She quickly nodded in answer.

"Good girl. I can explain everything. But keep your voice low. Do you understand me, Sara?"

She nodded again, and Roger let her go. She was looking around for a way to run, but she knew that Roger might kill her if she tried. So instead, she stood still and asked many questions.

"Who are you? What do you want? Are you going to kill me?"

"Maybe, one question at the time?"

Sara gulped and nodded once more. She asked the most crucial question.

"Are you going to kill me?"

"No, unless you force me."

Roger told her in a low voice. He remembered the manners of a god he met before his reincarnation and repeated them. He bowed nobly and introduced himself.

"I am indeed Roger. However, I am also the reincarnation of a god. I was a nameless god, and my title was a god of light."

"W-what?"

She swallowed the saliva quickly and maintained her composure as she waited for Roger to provide further clarification.

On the other hand, Roger was experiencing such intense embarrassment that he wanted to bash his head against the wall. Sara's silence was making Roger cringe even more.

[Seriously? This situation is when you feel embarrassed?]

Roger continued to stare at Sara, but inside he was shouting and cursing at the System. Sara heard of the legend and believed that this was possible. However, she couldn't understand why he didn't just tell her what had happened, why he was so scary and violent. And who was he talking to before?

"So you're still Roger?"

"Yes, the fusion erased my memories. However, instead of those memories, I gained the ability to read, enhance my strength, and even use magic."

"You're Roger…"

Sara continued looking at Roger, and she finally lost it. She began crying and jumped into Roger's arms. Both the System and were confused by this predicament.

[What…]

"The…"

[Fuck?!]

After Sara hugged Roger, he felt highly startled. He shyly wrapped his arms around her and patted her head.

[What the fuck is this bitch doing?!]

The System seemed to be extremely angry. She wanted to electrocute Roger while Sara hugged him to take them out. However, seeing that the situation was quite dire just a moment ago, the System relaxed and decided not to get involved. This whole thing would have been for nothing if something had happened to Sara.

[Geez, Roger's stupidity is contagious.]

After realizing that she almost acted as impulsively as Roger, the System thought to herself. However, she was still suspicious of Sara.

Meanwhile, Roger started to daydream and began thinking about his gluttony skill. He wondered if his taste receptors were still working and what would happen if he overate. But his daydream was chased away by a pinch in his cheek. When Sara realized that Roger was not paying attention to what was happening around him, she gave him a pinch.

"Humpf! Airhead!~"

Sara buried her face in Roger's chest and giggled. Roger seemed confused but realised this was way better than the previous life-or-death situation.

However, the System

[Huh?! Only I can call him that, you bitch!]
