What class did I want? I was so sure that it would be picked for me that I only trained to be prepared for it. In the game, it was picked based on the person's personality and such. Also, with my vast knowledge of RPG games, it was difficult for me to just pick one. Especially since I only had one life.

"Well, it seems like someone is having problems… Who knew people actually think about classes this hard?" Miss Hana shrugged and Jiji agreed with her. "How about I give you a special class?"

My head immediately perked up.

"A special class?"

"Yes sir! It's called Hermit Wiseman, but there is a setback. You can learn and master anything and everything, and even get 2 bonus points for each stat! The downside is that if you are in a party, you will get no XP."

My jaw dropped. That threw a massive wrench in my plans. A party was like RPG 101, but with this class, I couldn't be part of a party. The upside was way too good though… was this a challenge that was worth accepting? How could I after they just told me the fate of the world was at stake? The logical and rational solution was to pick a class that specialized in something and then form a party based on that. I had plenty of knowledge of the game, so that was an easy task. Perhaps something like a paladin would do.

After my unexpected meeting with the guardians, I was sitting in the room again. It seemed like time had stopped since the crystal was just now getting dimmer. I supposed my hour-long conversation was only a moment in this mortal realm.

"H-hermit Wiseman? What is that," The high priest asked the other priests.

Yup… I ended up picking that class anyway. It was too good to pass up. I'll just have to find a way around that party thing later… Or I can max out everything and then join a party. Oh well.

"I believe it's a class that allows me to accumulate knowledge without limits, but that's just a hunch. Like some kind of revelation," I only told part of the truth

"I-I see. Let's go with that for now then. Sir Dragonborne, we will formally add this class to the records. You are free to go," The priest sighed in relief.

"Thank you High Priest for your time," I bowed before I left the room.

The chapel was now completely empty. A massive headache suddenly hit me, but I kept walking, bearing the pain. I walked out and the only people that were waiting for me were Aurora and Myra. Ace was talking to his father with an excited face while Luna was shedding tears as she entered a carriage to leave. Aurora and Myra both looked uninterested in the chaos that was around them. Only Aurora looked up when I approached them.

"Sir Dragonborne, what class did you get?"

Part of me wanted to lie and say a different, more believable class. However, they would soon be able to verify my statement, and Aurora was able to sense good and evil anyway. Of course that included lying.

"I got a class called Hermit Wiseman. It's a class that allowed me to accumulate knowledge without any boundaries."

A moment of distrust flashed on her face but soon disappeared. I'm assuming that she sensed no deception behind my words. Myra looked up at me for a moment.

"What? Your class is called HERMIT Wiseman?" Myra cracked up.

"Myra, where's your manners!" Aurora turned back to me. "I apologize Sir Dragonborne. It's just… the name seems rather…"

"Stupid? I'm aware Lady Aurora," I smiled to let her know I wasn't upset. "I doubt my father would like the outcome of my results. Perhaps it was just fate. I doubt my father would allow me to inherit the role of head of the clan."

I shrugged as if I didn't care about the position. Well actually, I didn't care. In the game, the villain didn't inherit the position as head of the Dragonborne clan, he took it. Meaning if I was disqualified from the start, then I wouldn't become the head, and the world would balance itself a bit. This new train of thought was exhausting.

The bonus side was that both sisters hated power-hungry men. If I showed that I was down to earth, it would greatly boost my relationship with them.

"More importantly, are you two still willing to dine with me tonight?" I changed the topic.

They both were shocked. To them, it was like I practically put the clan itself to the side and prioritized them. More specifically, the promise I made to them to share a meal. Myra stood up and crossed her arms.

"We will come when it's time for dinner. I want to see more of the town," She began to walk away.

"Indeed, we wouldn't want to overstay our welcome. We will see you at dinner, Sir Dragonborne," A hint of surprise was evident in her voice.

Aurora gave a polite bow before she followed Myra. They both went to their carriage without even looking back.

Ding! Aurora's character log updated! Myra's character log updated!

Figured. I walked to my carriage before Ace stopped me.

"Yo, Smarus, what class did you get?" He still had a wide smile on his face.

"My class is called Hermit Wiseman. It allows me to get knowledge without any limits," I explained for the third time today.

"That's cool, but that doesn't top being a hero! Maybe we should run it back and have a rematch!" He challenged me.

"Just for you to lose again?" I smirked at him.

"I changed a lot in a month," His mannerisms were slowly changing from cheerful to one of dominance.

"So have I, Ace."

"Then let's see who can win then! Winner will get Lu…"

"Luna can decide on her own who she wants to marry. Perhaps you should take the time to whoo her with something other than your brawns," I patted his shoulders. "I'm sorry, but I have to prepare for guests at home. I will see you later Ace. Have a good day."

I entered my carriage before he could say another word. I almost let it slip that Luna was a Saint, but that would be concerning since she herself has yet to tell me. I wanted to avoid causing any more trouble for myself.

Ding! Ace's character log updated!

I sighed. I was able to see that our friendship was already crumbling. Perhaps this is the world trying to fix itself… Or my lack of socializing skills. Well, I had time on my hands, and I opened my status.

Smaren Dragonborne

Age: 15

Strength: 2

Intelligence: 5

Agility:1.5

Charisma:2

Magic: 1.5

Class: Hermit Wiseman

Mana: 400/400

Skills: Odin's eye, character log, Spatial Inventory, Guardian's Gift

That's odd, my intelligence shot up to 5, and my magic went up a point. Perhaps that was why I had a terrible headache. The information that I received from the guardians forced my intelligence to level up. However, because it was at five points, there was no point in trying to upgrade it for a while. It would take months to even years to get another point.

Also, what was Guardian's Gift? I asked the system for more details.

"Guardian's Gift gives a slight XP boost. It can be increased temporarily by using mana"

Another trade-off feature. Also how slight was "slight" and how much can I increase the boost? It was a super vague description, so I guessed I had to experiment with it. I opened up Luna's updated info.

"Was shocked when Ace actually became a Hero and scared when she became a Saintess. Everything you told her came true. Does that mean that she will be unfaithful to you? Was it her fate to be Ace's lover? Above all else, how did you know what their classes would have been before they received them? She is filled with grief and fear. Everything as she knew it was crumbling. First, you broke off the engagement and now Ace was openly showing his feelings towards her.

Warning: Possible Outcomes:

Hero Party Deserter

Hero's Lover

Mental Degradation"

That was an extremely depressing piece of information. I could tell that Luna was having something short of a midlife crisis. Worse yet, if she desserts the hero party, that would make her a criminal. I had time before that became an actual possibility. I had to make sure that I take the time to talk to her… but what would I say? She was clearly distraught and even heart broken.

The second option didn't surprise me, but the last one… I may have known the future, but that was because I was not from this world. Perhaps it was her mental strength that was the issue. Regardless, I should avoid hinting at the future from now on. I also didn't want to lose a friend, so I planned to make time to talk to her soon.

I felt the carriage stopped. When I looked outside, I saw that a tree had fell on the road. It seemed like my trip back home will take longer, so I suppose that I had time to read more logs.
