END 1

"A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid."

- Jean De La Fontaine

_________

"How about this style?"

It will only be a month and their college years will be ended.

Thelize already has a plan in mind to where she will put up her very own restaurant with the help of her sister's help with the financial, while Yuki will have his own hospital at hand before he even becomes a doctor since his father already made his decision for his son's succession.

"I prefer the cabin style, it gives off a calm and at-home style, y'know," He really doesn't care about the interior design of Thelize's restaurant, he knows that a restaurant will bring success if the food they serve can make their customers feel like the dish was specially cooked for them.

"Really? Then maybe I'll mix that style with this one, it's just so pretty and I just wanted to know whether we have the same taste on the interior design and obviously, we don't have."

Thelize has been eyeing the classical style but since Yuki has a very different choice, she will need to make a mixture of their choices.

The sun's setting and the temperature's getting colder by the minute.

Thelize only wears a skirt and a blouse with her wedge boots.

Yuki, on the other hand, wears a thick coat with a pair of gloves in his pocket.

"We should head back home, you can continue daydreaming- I mean, creating your own restaurant at home. It's getting cold."

Yuki stands up and picks up his bag.

Thelize just watches him gracefully move while the sun's setting from his back.

"What would I do without you?" She whispers while smiling at him.

"You know, there will be an after party on our graduation day. I am going. How about you?"

Yuki was not able to hear what Thelize said.

He walked a bit further from her, signaling that they will have to leave.

"I don't know," she said while she picks her bag and hugged the sketches of her soon to-be-restaurant.

"Hey, wait!" She had to walk a bit faster to catch Yuki who's already 10 feet away from her.

"Remember that day when you cried?" Thelize shouted to make Yuki stop walking.

"Hehe, I knew that will make you stop!"

It's been four years but that day was still as clear as the sky.

Since that event, he never let Thelize feel alone or sad or that she's not important.

It also made him feel weird because he usually sees Bless from time to time and he know that she's dead.

Well, Thelize also died but he never saw her personally dead.

"How's your sis?"

Yuki's walking with Thelize's pace.

She walks slower than a normal person so he has to adjust.

"She's fine, you know... She's dating one of our professors! I forgot his name but he's our Ethics teacher."

"Really? That's great."

"Yeah, and I'll move out after our graduation. I found this cheap apartment near your hospital and I thought that it will be nice to visit you if I live near. Also, it's only a 20-minute ride to the restaurant."

As time passes by, as they grow closer, Yuki saw who Thelize really is.

'She's not only brains and beauty. She's words and feelings, as well,' he thought while looking at the orange tinted sky.

"I also remembered that dream, I had it yesterday again."

"What dream?"

"You know, that you're from the future and you'll rewrite my destiny?"

Yuki stopped walking, he almost forgot about that.

He got too attached to his new self.

"But it's different, you were crying while calling my name. It feels weird because it felt so real and when I woke up, I was crying as well."

She stopped walking, there's a 2 meter distance between them but their eye contact feels like they're only an inch apart.

"It felt so bad. It's painful and every time I remember it, I feel like I want to die," she mutters.

"Why?"

"Because I feel so incomplete and empty and sad and nothing."

Yuki went beside her and held her hand.

"I won't let you feel that way,"

"Even if I can't see anything other than myself stuck somewhere no one can see or save me?"

"Are you stupid? I can find you, wherever you are."

"Promise?"

"Yeah."

Both of them felt half honest with their words.

No, Yuki can't find her wherever she is. He's just a person.

No, Thelize can't be stuck because she can always move and do something about it.

They felt as is there's ice covering their skin with every beat of their heart.

Yuki did dream of her last night too.

She's crying.

He's crying.

She looks wrecked.

He's broken.

She can't be fixed.

He can be put back with pieces.

"Hey, we're home. Do you want to come in?"

Yuki did not notice that they're already in front of Thelize's house.

He got too carried away with their conversation earlier that he just followed Thelize home.

"No, I need to talk to Dad."

"I see. See you then!"

Thelize waves her hand.

Yuki smiled at her before leaving.

Both of their dreams bother them.

Even though Thelize knows that it was only a dream, she never had one that felt so real and painful.

It was weird because after that dream, she felt as if Yuki really did rewrite her destiny and she owes him a lot.

Yuki really doesn't have to talk to anyone in particular since he leaves alone in his apartment.

He just felt like he can't stand to see Thelize after remembering what happened to the past.

He still feels guilty.

His guilt always eats him up and leaves him unable to think or breathe.

It was his fault that Thelize died.

Even though right now, she's happy because of him, the past still weighs down the present.

"Did I really rewrite her destiny? Or it will just happen all over again?"
