Exploring the mansion

'What should I do now? Run away from home? Kill this bastard before he foils the plans of my favorite heroes?'

If it was before, Vincent wouldn't even need to decide. Sacrificing his own life for the sake of his precious (imaginary) friends was the only right thing to do, but now, after the last chapter he read, he wasn't sure what to do anymore.

'Wait, if he is here, then are Mr. Shield and Jumping girl here as well?! No, I can't be sure. But one thing is certain, if they are, I won't let them become evil!'

Vincent was now thinking of ways to check whether Mr. Shield and Jumping Girl were real, and if they were, then at which point in the story it is.

"Now, go to your room and rest."

Fritz said and put Vincent down.

"Alright."

Vincent left quickly, leaving confused Fritz behind.

'Why is he so talkative so suddenly?'

When Vincent went upstairs, the image he saw was as vivid as the one described in the books.

The hallway was long and thin, with beautiful paintings beside each door. Everything was perfectly clean, and the carpet was extremely soft. The smell in the air was making Vincent relaxed.

"Oh, no!"

He said as he understood he let his guard down.

'I can't be this relaxed here! Who knows what kind of terrible things they keep here?!'

He now slowly made soundless steps until he reached the last room in the hallway. It was the room of the previous owner of this body.

'Now, one of the biggest challenges is ahead of me.'

From the memories he had, he knew that there is some kind of animal inside of this room.

'Wait, why can't I remember what kind of animal it is? I remember the author vividly described it in a book and left a great impression on me.'

Suddenly, Vincent felt as if he fell into a deep, cold hole. He tried all things, but couldn't remember some parts of the story.

'What's going on?! I memorized most of the words! How could it happen to me?'

He looked soullessly at the doors before him, struggling to remember what kind of enemy he can encounter inside.

'I can't remember, no matter how hard I try. Could it be that the memories I've got from the previous owner of this body clouded mine?! It can't be!'

Now, in Vincent's head appeared a memory from a few minutes before, in which he could vaguely see how his own memories merged with the ones in the spell cast by the great demon Fritz.

"Since I can't recall these lines from the novel, I will recreate them."

Vincent's mood changed in a second. He was still in a state of shock. All the things that he was currently going through made it hard to calm down.

He opened the door to his room, and a giant chicken with bunny ears and four paws - all covered in feathers jumped on him. Its beak was yellow and shiny, and it had a red line of feathers on its head.

'Now I remember! It is a world destructor! One of the strongest companions of the main villain of the story!'

Vincent was horrified as soon as he saw this cute creature. If someone knew what kind of disasters this monster will create in the future, being in Vincent's current state was an impressive achievement.

'What should I do? From the way I see it, it's not too strong right now. It is only a meter tall and one and a half meters wide. I could kill it if I had something sharp with me.'

He was now thinking of a way to kill this monster, but when he glanced at it again, he couldn't bring himself to do it.

'Maybe I can make this chicken a hero!'

Vincent suppressed his killing intent towards this creature.

Even if he didn't remember some parts of his favorite story, it didn't mean that it wasn't his most precious treasure! He could kill if someone was to destroy it!

He laid on the ground for some time until the world destructor got off him.

"World destructor, why are you so happy to see me? It's not like we haven't seen each other in ages."

Vincent said.

'This creature is super intelligent. I need to play the previous owner of this body in front of it too.'

With this thought in mind, he talked with the world destructor for some time and then laid on the bed. He was too tired to do anything. He needed to sort some things in his head right now.

'Sigh. I still can't believe in the things that happened today.'

Now that he had some time to rest on this comfortable, giant bed, the things that happened hit him harder than before.

'It's unbelievable. What was I sent here for?'

All this time, these two thoughts were passing through his head. As much as he wanted to believe that it had nothing to do with the last chapter he saw, it was not possible.

'Since the truck was in this chapter, could it be possible that other people who read it also got here?'

He thought about the events again and again until he fell asleep.

In the morning, the world destructor woke him up.

'World destructor, your clear blue eyes are too beautiful. You can't become a villain.'

Vincent got up and checked the clothes in his wardrobe.

'Why does everything is so formal in another world? Couldn't they just create clothes that are comfortable to wear?'

He chose the ones made from the smoothest material and came down.

'Don't be suspicious. Don't be suspicious. Don't be suspicious.'

He repeated this sentence in his mind.

"Welcome son, it's good you woke up this early. Today is your first day in the academy after all."

Vincent immediately stopped in his steps.

'What do you mean by my first day in the academy?!'
