Gu World
The Gu world is divided into five major regions, namely Southern Border, Western Desert, Northern Plains, Eastern Sea, and Central Continent.
Furthermore, the Gu world possessed nine heavens at one point of time but only two exist in the current time period, namely black heaven and white heaven.
Black heaven's and white heaven's positions alternate during night and day artificially creating a situation similar to Earth.
The Gu world is inhabited by humans, variant humans, beasts, and plants.
Every Region is surrounded by a regional wall that separates the region from the other adjacent regions.
There is a heavenly wind qi wall which is a wall made of qi that separates the five regions from the two remaining heavens.
Beyond the boundaries of the Gu World lies Chaos where no being can survive.
At one of the wonders of the Gu World, the River water was continuously flowing downwards.
Each and every drop of water represented a new hope, a new beginning.
It was the secluded domain of heaven and earth, The River of Time!
It has existed in Gu World for innumerable years, unceasingly flowing through the past, the present, and the future.
In legends it is hailed as the river that supports the Gu world's time flow and circulation, connecting the beginning and the end.
If one were to say that history is a series of still images, then the River of Time is a thin thread that connects these numerous images into a line.
In these billions and trillions of still images which connected one after another, the Gu World passed through many eras.
The Gu world till today had presented a total of 5 Eras - Immemorial Antiquity Era, Remote Antiquity Era, Olden Antiquity Era, Medieval Antiquity Era and Late Antiquity Era and now the 6th Era -The Grand Era, is approaching.
During these eras, there had only been ten Gu Masters who achieved Rank 9 cultivation base and each of them were known as Immortal or Demon Venerable.
They all were of Human Race and had reached the pinnacle of the Gu world's cultivation.
Each one of them had extraordinary talent and were geniuses amongst geniuses in their fields.
The Immemorial Antiquity Era was a beginning of era where there was no human existence in the Gu World, until one day, new lifeform was born in the Gu World, it was a creature of "Human Race", and the first human ancestor was named Ren Zu.
<<Legends of Ren Zu>> is a legendary tale, whose origin is still mysterious, which depicts the story of the first human ancestor named Ren Zu and his ten children and how they gave birth to countless human lives by Ren Zu sacrificing himself and the corpse of his ten children to the Derivation Gu.
The era which followed the Immemorial Antiquity Era was the Remote Antiquity Era.
Remote Antiquity Era was an era that existed at three million years ago.
It was also the Era which brought the first ever Rank 9 Venerable into existence.
He was known as Primordial Origin Immortal Venerable.
He was the founder of Qi Path and Enslavement Path.
He was chosen by the Rank 9 Fate Gu to lead Human Race towards ruling the world by defeating the Variant Human Race.
He was the 1st generation reigning immortal king of Heavenly Court.
Heavenly Court represented itself as the leader of Human race.
He used his strength to free the Human Race from the Variant Human races who had ruled the Gu World and uses humans as livestock or slaves.
He had conquered the Central Continent, but the other 4 regions were still hiding a massive amount of Variant Human races.
Fearing that his life would come to an end and risk the human races being outnumbered by the other races, he had discarded the clan system and founded the sect system to cultivate as many Rank 6 and above Gu Immortals as possible.
He had made arrangements of his resurrection through the Qi Art Fruit which would appear in Heavenly Court during the Grand Era.
After him, his disciple who is also known as Star Constellation Immortal Venerable became the 2nd Venerable.
She was the creator of Wisdom path and was the 2nd generation reigning immortal king of Heavenly Court.
She had a Rank 9 Wisdom Gu as her Vital Gu.
Before Star Constellation Immortal Venerable died, she deduced from the Heavenly Secret, and obtained the information of all that happened three million years after her death.
She found out that after her death, the Heavenly Court would be without a lord for a long time, causing a long period of turmoil as three Demon Venerables appear and made three arrangements that dealt with each of the three Demon Venerables respectively.
Each and every Gu Master in the Gu World are smart and cunning because without that, they would find it very difficult to survive the harsh environment of such world where strong prey on the weak and where experts are revered by everyone.
Let alone Venerable, who is the expert amongst experts and have reached the peak.
This world had a huge secret which was only known by very few people of the world.
The Gu world contains Heaven's Will which monitors the heaven and earth.
Heaven's Will is also known as the will of heaven and earth!
Humans have will, heaven and earth also has will.
Compared to heaven and earth, humans are tiny like ants, lowly like sand, they are basically not worthy of being mentioned.
Heaven's Will was vast, it only cared about balance, it did not bear grudges.
Anyone who threatens this world or threatens the life forms in this world would be targeted by Heaven's Will.
Heaven's Will can affect the Rank 9 Fate Gu to decide the fate of all the residents of this world.
Fate Gu can only be used by Heaven's Will and hence it can be used to bring balance in heaven and earth.
The way of heaven is to take away surpluses while replenishing deficits, it emphasizes on balance and the way of humans is exactly the opposite, it is to reduce the deficits and build up the surpluses.
The two are complete opposites, and they are in conflict with each other.
Thus, all the Venerables, and any legendary figures, or even the strongest Races are the targets of Heaven's Will's suppression.
When Variant Races were the rulers of the Gu World, and Humans were the slaves, Heaven's will used Fate Gu to change the fate of Human Race to become rulers.
This could also be tilted at any point of time.
Hence, after lots of calculations, Star Constellation Immortal Venerable merged herself with the Heaven's Will using Heavenly path achievements to affect the Fate Gu in such a way that Human Race would rule the world forever.
She had made arrangements for her resurrection in the Grand Era in case the Fate Gu was destroyed.
The 3rd Era was the Olden Antiquity Era.
Olden Antiquity Era was an era that existed at one million years ago.
In the following era, the Olden Antiquity Era, three Demon Venerables were presented by the world one after another as calculated by Star Constellation Immortal Venerable.
First was Limitless Demon Venerable whose goal was to research the Grand Dao.
He was the founder of Law and Rules Path.
In the later years of his life, he spent his time researching Eternal Life.
He was the creator of Crazed Demon Cave from which he intended to find the answer of Eternal Life.
He refined the legendary Derivation Gu, he hid inside Crazed Demon Cave and did experiments and Gu Refinements on it, hoping to reach a breakthrough.
Crazed Demon Cave was one of the ten great fierce areas in Northern Plains.
It had a total of 9 layers out of which only Venerables had explored beyond 7th layers.
The 8th and 9th layer were even beyond the jurisdiction of Heaven's Will where Limitless Demon Venerable performed the calculations for Eternal Life.
He had planned a calculation of 1 million years using Rank 9 Evolution Gu outside the jurisdiction of Heaven's Will, which would finish shortly after the start of The Grand Era, where he would finally not be obstructed by Fate Gu and will be able to resurrect himself to get the answer for Eternal Life.
Since the inception of humanity people feared, despised, and were repulsed by the idea of death and henceforth sought ways to escape its grasps.
The easiest and at the same time most difficult option to delay the inevitable was the use of the naturally occurring Lifespan Gu, but exactly due to its rare appearance people who found it were inclined to use it immediately or keep it to themselves because nothing is more precious than one's own life.
This gave rise to the research of new Gu, killer moves and other methods to prolong one's life or to resurrect oneself in the case of death.
Some methods can only work under specific circumstances and or incur Heaven's Will wrath due to their heaven-defying nature.
Most life extension methods aside from Lifespan Gu have either one or many heavy drawbacks or lose their effect over the course of repeated uses, even making it impossible to use of other life extension methods including the use of Lifespan Gu.
Some if not most methods will only be able to work if Fate Gu is either destroyed or severely injured.
This lead to the importance of the 6th Era - The Grand Era, because it was the Era where the Fate Gu was fated to be destroyed in the hands of Complete Otherworldly Demon.
Every Venerable saw this coming and planned their rebirth in the The Great Era.
Most of the Gu are very fragile and will instantly be crumbled by the slightest pressure from the hands.
However, since Fate Gu could decide the life course of each of the Gu world's resident, it was impossible for them to destroy it.
Even the Venerables were no exception.
When they would try to crumble it, the Fate Gu would become the hardest ever object in their hands.
Only the special beings whose soul come from outside the Gu world have the ability to change their fate and also destroy Fate Gu.
These beings are popularly referred to as Otherworldly Demons in the Gu world.
Otherworldly demons are seen by others as intruders who came from other worlds.
They possess a native's body, but their soul is different and belongs to another world hence they are actually a Half Otherworldly Demon and will not be able to completely destroy Fate Gu.
As they are a foreign existence their fate is not as unchangeable as the predestined fate of the natives.
Looking closer, souls that possess a natives body are regarded as "half otherworldly demons", meaning they can partially change their fate but are still affected by it to a certain degree, at the same time, they are also still influenced by Heaven's Will which can to a certain extent secretly manipulate or suppress the "half otherworldly demon".
Only a "complete otherworldly demon", one who has a foreign body and foreign soul, can escape Heaven's Will's grasp and possess the ability to defy fate.
Hence, many of the Rank 9 Demon Venerables and even some Immortal Venerables planned to create a complete Otherworldly Demon so that he can destroy the Fate Gu representing the start of the Grand Era, and their rebirth.
4th Venerable, born during the Olden Antiquity Era, was Reckless Savage Demon Venerable who was the founder of strength path and transformation path.
He was known to the world as the strongest Venerable when it comes to pure raw power.
While he is famous for being the toughest and strongest fighter in Strength Path, not many people knows that he is, in fact, a chatterbox.
He looks downs on those who look pretty and lack a powerful body full of muscles.
Reckless Savage Demon Venerable had a strength that could shake heaven and earth, he was the fiercest Venerable out of the ten.
He could transform into countless fierce beasts, having an endless number of transformations, and he could even revive from a drop of blood.
He had created a way for his revival in Crazed Demon Cave in the Grand Era.
However, it was destroyed by a Future Immortal Venerable and it was unclear whether Reckless Savage Demon Venerable had any other method of resurrection.
The most important Venerable, the 5th Venerable, presented by the Gu world was Red Lotus Demon Venerable.
Red Lotus Demon Venerable was the most mysterious Venerable and had the least known records in history.
He cultivated Time Path and was able to travel back in time or see a glimpse of the future.
He was creator of one of the top ten mystical Gu named Spring Autumn Cicada whose ability is allow a Gu Master's will and memories to traverse upstream in the "River of Time" and impart both of them inside the mind of their previous self's owner, in other words, the Gu master is being 'reborn' into the past with the knowledge of the future.
Red Lotus Demon Venerable was not a Otherworldly Demon and hence was unable to defy fate.
Originally, Heavenly Court intended to cultivate him to become an Immortal Venerable and lead them as the Third Immortal King of Heavenly Court.
When he became Venerable by passing the final tribulation, he unfortunately lost his lover.
He used the remaining Heaven and Earth Qi to refine Regret Gu making him regret his past actions and him being unable to save his lover.
He chooses to become a Demon Venerable.
His defiance to become a Demon Venerable comes from his hatred for Fate that took away his parents and wife.
His love for them is so overwhelming that he would trade anything to get them back, even being ready to forfeit his chance to become a Rank 9.
But according to Fate, the result can't be changed and he must experience those losses, causing Hong Ting to regret over his decision to become Rank 9.
In the course of his life, he had used his Spring Autumn Cicada hundreds and thousands of times to travel back in time to save his loved ones only to lose them once again due to fate.
At the same time, it had also greatly change his personality.
Because he saw them die so many times in front of him without being able to change the outcome, he slowly became more calculating, indifferent, and cold.
One of the time, a miracle happened and he saved his lover from dying by using the Rank 9 Love Gu.
However, the following events left him shocked : He killed his own lover because when she found out how she survived, she was upset that he had not followed the arrangements of fate and hence did not become a Venerable.
He found that he did not love her anymore and going back to past has just become an instinct for him.
This deepened his hatred for Fate Gu and he swore to destroy it one day.
Red Lotus Demon Venerable was able to partially destroy the Fate Gu using Rank 9 Love Gu.
Back then, Red Lotus Demon Venerable was able to obtain the acknowledgement of Love Gu, and with the help of the power of love, he was able to damage Fate Gu in the end.
Love Gu can't be refined by anyone, unless that person is chosen by Love Gu itself.
Even Venerables are unable to refine Love Gu.
Love Gu is a unique anomaly that has the ability to defy fate and even give a 'luck' to its chosen person.
Red Lotus Demon Venerable had opened a whole new chapter in the history of the human race.
Due to his effort in damaging Fate Gu, allowing people a chance to defy Fate and hide from its influence, Luck Path and Soul Path was able to be discovered.
Because Red Lotus cultivated in Time Path, he was able to see that, in the future, there exists a possibility for his successor to accomplish it.
His successor had to be an Otherworldly Demon and not restrained by Fate.
Red Lotus Demon Venerable had made many secret arrangements for his future successor and also made arrangements for future Venerables to make deals with them in order to preserve his successor and help him destroy Fate Gu.
Red Lotus Demon Venerable's true inheritance is located at Stone Lotus Island which can be found on River of Time.
Each Stone Lotus Island had a specific purpose to play so that he could execute his plans smoothly.
Following the Olden Antiquity Era was the Medieval Antiquity Era.
Medieval Antiquity Era was an era that existed at three hundred thousand years ago.
The 6th Venerable of the Human Race, Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable was a Immortal Venerable who was the founder of wood path and drawing path.
He was the 3rd generation reigning immortal king of Heavenly Court.
Rank 9 Heavenly Essence Treasure Imperial Lotus is the vital Gu of Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable.
Rank 9 Heavenly Essence Treasure Imperial Lotus can produce rank 9 level Yellow Apricot Immortal Essence.
Immortal essence is a naturally occurring kind of energy found in the shape of beads inside the immortal aperture of a Gu Immortal.
For Gu Immortals their immortal essence is one of the most precious resources and a deciding factor if they will have cultivate smoothly without any problems or if they will struggle to even survive their calamities and tribulations.
The color, quality, and rank of the immortal essence beads change depending on the rank of the Gu Immortal.
Green Grape for Rank 6, Red Date for Rank 7, White Litchi for Rank 8 and Yellow Apricot for Rank 9.
No one had reached the cultivation base of Rank 10 yet and hence it was unknown what type of Immortal Essence would be produced.
Gu Immortals use immortal essence by injecting it into one or more Immortal Gu to activate their ability, some need only a specific amount to be used while others have to be constantly supplied with immortal essence.
Immortal essence beads are generated each month passed inside the blessed land or grotto-heaven and the amount generated is dependent on the grade of the blessed land or grotto-heaven as well as the life-force and quality of the resources inside them.
The other most common way to replenish immortal essence is by extracting it from immortal essence stones.
Because of this, Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable was known as the one with fastest growing Immortal essence reserve specializing in healing and recovery.
His nature was kind and he loved to preserve the environment.
He was the person who refined Perseverance Immortal Gu and became the first owner of Reverse Flow River.
Reverse Flow River was a secluded domain of heaven and earth.
It was named as such due to its inherent ability to reverse all that is thrown on it's surface.
If someone who is outside of the Reverse Flow River make any attacks on the Reverse Flow River, the attacks will be reversed and reflect back to that person.
In <<The Legends of Ren Zu>>, Dang Hun Mountain, Luo Po Valley and Reverse Flow River were the three obstacles inside the Door of Life and Death, to revive the soul once again and leave the Door of Life and Death.
One can only become the Lord of Reverse Flow River by reaching the upstream with utmost determination and refining Perseverance Gu.
Genesis Lotus Demon Venerable had made the arrangements for his resurrection which was unknown to all the other Venerables.
Even members if Heavenly Court were unaware.
The next venerable, Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable was the founder of Theft Path and excelled in Space path.
He was the only Venerable out of the ten who was an Otherworldly Demon.
Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable stole from heaven and robbed earth, he was the wealthiest venerable in history.
His goal was to return to his original home.
He spent his entire life's effort to find the rumored legendary Space Cave.
Space Cave connected the 5 regions, hidden in a place no one knew.
Legend says, pushing the open door of Space Cave from inside the Space Cave, one can reach any place in the world.
Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable wanted to enter the legendary Space Door all his life, and requested Long Hair Ancestor to refine the Immortal Gu, that is Space Escape Gu.
The two cooperated and spent 21 years to successfully refine Space Escape Gu.
However, even the ability of Space Escape Gu was not able to enter the Space Door no matter what he did which gave a huge setback to Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable and Long Hair Ancestor.
Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable had roamed the entire world to look for a way to return home and .felt that a person was too small, and the Gu world was too big, thus he created Spaceless Tunnel.
Portion of his Spaceless Tunnel's killer move were still left behind in the five regions and two heavens as they seemed to be able to last forever.
Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable had relied on Ghostly Concealment to enter the Door of Life and Death, and moved Dang Hun Mountain and Luo Po Valley out, but was unable to take Reverse Flow River.
After his death, Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable had left behind 10 true inheritances.
Each of the Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable's true inheritance is an unparalleled treasure in the world, usually the Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable's true inheritances come in pairs, obtaining one will give clues to the other, they contain the essence of Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable's cultivation.
The true inheritances that Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable left behind only have one requirement towards the inheritor, they have to be an Otherworldly Demon.
He had made arrangements in Crazed Demon Cave to help the Otherworldly Demon successor of the Grand Era to surpass other Venerables.
No one knew how the Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable disappeared and where he died.
The 8th Venerable, Giant Sun Immortal Venerable was the founder of luck path and blood path.
Giant Sun Immortal Venerable was a person full of legends and incredible stories.
He was originally a demonic path Gu Master born in Northern Plains.
He was always lucky and fortunate in his life, having experienced lots of good events.
Not only could he avoid dangers, he could even turn them into blessings.
Since Fate was partially destroyed, Luck had became a variable where Good Luck meant variable fortune and Bad luck meant variable misfortune.
Giant Sun Immortal Venerable created luck path, his entire life's cultivation was summarized into three parts that encompass all of his methods regarding luck path, and these three parts targets the operations of the principles of heaven.
The (Self Luck) was to replenish oneself.
The (All Living Being's Luck) was to take away others' surpluses to replenish oneself.
The (Heaven And Earth Luck) was to take away heaven and earth's surpluses to replenish oneself.
Back in the day, on his era, Giant Sun Immortal Venerable married young women every year and he had hundreds of thousands of imperial concubines, but only had one empress.
Giant Sun Immortal Venerable was once invited by Heavenly Court to become their leader, the 4th Immortal King, but he refused because of differing views.
However, he used that opportunity to plant a method in the middle of Heavenly Court which would be used during the Grand Era to teleport directly to the middle of Heavenly Court.
Giant Sun Immortal Venerable's luck path usurped the authority of heaven and earth.
When nature operated according to the principles of heaven, and an individual was determined to be too strong and breaking the balance, it would generate calamities and tribulations to suppress them.
His luck path avoided calamities and tribulations, and in the section of heaven and earth luck, it directly turned calamities and tribulations into fortuitous encounters.
Therefore, when the heaven and earth wanted to suppresses him by taking away his surpluses to replenish others' deficits, his Luck path would instead go ahead and take away heaven and earth's surpluses to replenish his own deficits.
Because of Giant Sun Immortal Venerable, luck path appeared in the five regions.
In the past, "Fate" was unchangeable and allows the Heavenly Court to become the apex in the Gu World by controlling "Fate".
But after luck path was founded by Giant Sun Immortal Venerable, "Luck" able to counter "Fate".
"Fate" is certain while "Luck" is uncertain, good luck is a positive uncertainty for oneself while bad luck is a negative uncertainty for oneself.
Giant Sun Immortal Venerable's Vital Gu in his early years is Dog Shit Luck Gu, and in his later years is Fortune Rivalling Heaven Gu.
He had destroyed Reckless Savage Demon Venerable's arrangement for rebirth within Crazed Demon Cave.
He had also converted himself into a zombie so that he could survive till the Grand Era.
Since Fate Gu was partially destroyed, beings like zombies came into existence and souls could remain in the world without going to Door of Life and Death.
Zombies does not have lifespan Dao marks and their aperture is dead.
Converting from Zombie to a real body is a very difficult task and has very few methods.
Giant Sun Immortal Venerable planned to use Blood path methods to revive after the destruction of Fate Gu.
He agreed to Red Lotus Demon Venerable's plan to help destroy the Fate Gu and also planned out the spread of blood path through his clone such that he could gain deeper attainments at it.
