Reverberations from the past.

"What do you see when you look at me?" Vanessa asked, as she stared tearily at Raymond. "Broken? Hurt? Mad? Dangerous?" "Vanessa. That's all I see. I see you, Vanessa" Raymond replied shortly, as he bent on his knees to caress her cheeks. "A vulnerable Vanessa?" she asked "No. I see Vanessa, a woman struggling to make things right" he replied honestly. "I'm sorry I dragged you into this. I'm so sorry" she said almost in a whisper, but he heard her due to their close proximity. "You didn't do anything wrong. I should be apologizing instead. Vanessa, I..." "Stop, Raymond! Just don't. I can't even look you in the eyes" she said as she looked down. "You lost almost everything because of me. I'd understand if you blame me. But please don't apologize to me" she said as she wept uncontrollably. Raymond pulled her into his arms, kissed her forehead and hugged her tightly. "I'd never blame you, Vanessa. Never" "Raymond, can we start all over again when all these end?" "No..." ***** Aida grew up in a lovely home, with mother out of the picture. Chapter 21 Blood?!

"Wait, why are you coming out of his room?" Kelly asked looking stunned.

"I...I..." Ciara stammered as she clenched her fist in embarrassment.

"We spent the night together" Arnold answered dryly, his voice void of any emotion, as he approached them.

Kelly covered her mouth with her hands and winked knowingly at Ciara.

"I'll excuse myself now" Ciara said and started walking away.

"Ciara, wait" Arnold called calmly after her, which made her halt in her steps. She's never felt so wronged and misunderstood as she felt at that moment. Out of embarrassment, she kept her head low when she heard his sturdy footsteps approaching her. Kelly hurriedly walked pass them. She was so excited. To think that someone could breath fire, into Arnold's 'thousand years block of ice' heart again, was something she never saw coming after what happened to his previous relationship. Kelly had already left when Arnold held Ciara's shoulders and raised her head to look at her face.

"Are you alright?" Arnold asked.

"How can I be alright after you've said that?"

"Oh! What i said was the truth wasn't it?" Arnold retorted playfully.

"Stop toying with me, Arnold. You know Kelly won't think of it as it happened!" Ciara replied angrily.

"Who cares what she thinks. Geez, cheer up! Don't sulk"

"Maybe you don't care, but i do. My dignity is at stake now" Ciara replied, pushed Arnold's hands from her shoulders and walked straight to her room.

Arnold stood still and watched her till he lost sight of her.

"What made her so angry?" Arnold asked rhetorically. However, before he could think of anything, he heard a voice reply;

"She feels wronged and misunderstood. For an unmarried woman to come out of a potent single man's room, who'd think nothing happened? You need to learn more about women, bro"

Arnold knew that voice very well. It was Samuel's. Arnold didn't even spare him a glance when Samuel walked to stand beside him.

"Good morning, bro" Samuel greeted cheerfully, knowing very well Arnold was not going to respond. "How was your night? Having a hot and sexy.."

"If you don't hold your tongue right there, you'll soon have to wait for the tooth fairy to exchange a dollar per a tooth" Arnold threatened.

Samuel wasn't going to yield easily and Arnold knew about that.

"Relax bro! You had a good night. That explains why you're so fuelled. How was it? Was it tigh..." Samuel dogged the fist that came his way and burst into laughter before he could complete his question. It was so easy to pull Arnold's tail and he loved to do it all the time. Arnold glared at Samuel who smirked in return.

"Arnold, that was a harmless enquiry. It's just feels good to see you like this. So worked up!"

When Arnold looked at him with murderous intents written all over his features, Samuel raised his hands.

"I surrender" Samuel finally said and giggled.

"Why are you here this morning?" Arnold asked.

"Do I need any sort of permission to come here?"

It was Arnold's turn to smirk.

"That sweet little maid of yours served another man sweetly and wholeheartedly while you slept" Arnold said, opened the door to him room and closed it swiftly behind him, leaving Samuel behind it. Samuel knocked violently on his door and he completely ignored him.

"You think i am the only person who is easily irked. There you go" Arnold chuckled. However, everything Arnold said was true. With his own eyes, he saw them. He heard the moans and groans and thought it was Samuel having fun. He planned to ruin his fun. He tiptoed to the scene, only to witness what he had never planned to witness. He walked away only to see a shadow in the curtains. Well, it was Ciara. 'Wait, Ciara! What did she hear that scared her that much?' he thought. Samuel stopped knocking on his door and walked away. 'I'll check on Ciara now' he told him and walked towards the door. Just when he was about to turn the knob, he saw something on his bed. He walked towards the bed, threw the quilt off the bed to expose the sheet. What was he seeing?
