Taking a Risk

While Travis was sitting back on the couch, he received a text on his phone. Raising the phone to his face, he read the message. It was a text from his best friend from high school.

Caleb: Hey man, what's up? Wanna go out today?

"Oh Caleb, man, I forgot about this dude. He was pretty cool to hang out with, until he ditched me for a girl. Now that I think about it, he had a hot mom," he thought.

Me: Sure, why don't we just play games at your place as usual?

Caleb: That's fine by me. Bring an extra joystick; mine broke.

Me: Alright, I'll be there by 12.

He then put his phone down. Travis chuckled to himself as he thought about the things he wanted to do in this second chance at life. The system was honestly the best thing that had ever happened to him, and he would use it to its fullest abilities.

An hour later, Gloria walked into the house. She smiled upon seeing Travis sitting on the couch, watching TV.

"Good morning, Travis. How did you sleep?" she asked with a bright and joyful tone. Seeing the happiness radiating from her face, he was almost blinded. He stood up from the couch and stood beside her.

"I slept well. How about you?" he asked. Travis entered her comfortable space, which she didn't mind at all. Gloria got closer, putting her arms around his and said, "The best sleep I've had so far. Fixing things up with my daughter really reduced my stress by a ton," she said.

"Well, I'm happy for you. How's Caroline?" he asked.

"She's back to her old self from what I've seen. Let's hope it stays that way," she replied.

"Yeah, let's. So, what are we eating for breakfast?"

"I was thinking of giving you a classic American breakfast, but with my own tweaks, of course. However, I don't think we have eggs, so could you run to the store and get some?" She took out her bank card and handed it to him.

"What's your PIN again?"

"Come on, Travis. I've told you, it's 1886. Yes, I know it's very basic, but I prefer things that way," she said.

"Let's hope basic doesn't cause you a problem one day. Well, let me go get my flip-flops," he ran upstairs and retrieved his shoes. When he came back downstairs, Travis saw a beautiful sight: Gloria was bent over under a desk, looking for her earring.

Her figure was beautifully shaped in those tight black jeans. She slowly arched her body, showcasing her flexibility. He was instantly turned on.

[ Ding

Mission: Go up to her and press your pelvis against her ass without angering her. Time limit - 2 minutes.

Failure - Temporary Blindness.

Rewards - Raise all her starts by 10 , 50 RS Points]

'What the heck! Who came up with this mission? This system is going to be the death of me one day,' he thought.

Travis approached her, crouched down, and slowly shifted closer. He spotted Gloria's earring instantly, but somehow, she didn't. Then he remembered that she was nearsighted. Well, he wasn't planning on passing up this opportunity. With a deep breath, Travis went for it.

He pressed his pelvis against her ass and positioned his body against her back. Gloria was shocked, to say the least. Not because Travis was literally behind her with his pelvis against her ass, but because she couldn't find her earring.

Like any other mother, she didn't mind physical contact from her son; to her, he was just trying to help.

"I found it," he said. Travis stepped back from her and stood up. He was breathing heavily from the stress and fear he felt, because if things hadn't gone well, well, let's just say this novel would've ended.

"Thank you, Travis. You're really a champion. Now hurry up and get the eggs. You can buy what you feel like buying, but don't spend too much money, okay?" She said.

"Yeah, peace," he said as he rushed out of the house, leaving Gloria to fix her earring while standing in front of a random mirror in the house.

< Outside >

Travis was currently walking down the path to the grocery store. They lived in a well-off neighborhood, so the things they needed were just a short walk away. While walking, Caroline happened to be going out as well. She was headed to the store to buy some snacks since she planned on watching movies with her mom that night.

She saw Travis walk by, which greatly surprised her. Last she checked, he didn't like going outside and only did so when forced.

' We haven't been friends for about 4 years. Is it too late to fix things with him?' she wondered. She then shook her head and smiled with determination. Caroline understood that she wouldn't find out until she tried.

She hurriedly ran out the gate and followed him. When she got near, she tapped his shoulder, which surprised him a bit. He didn't remember having a shoulder-tap friendship with anyone, much less a guy.

He turned back and saw Caroline, standing there with a beautiful smile on her face. Travis immediately saw her information.

Name: Caroline Vaz

Age: 16

Gender: Female

< Emotion Meter >

Lust: 2% (Like any other person, she's a bit horny for no literal reason.)

Love: 10% (She sees you as her childhood best friend, but if this rises above 20, she'll start to see you differently.)

Interest: 50% (She wants to know more about you since you all separated. She also wants to restore your friendship. Interest will reset to zero, restarting in another category.)

' Oh, she wants to be friends again. I guess it's time to play hard to get, just to tease her,' he thought.

"Caroline, what's up?" he said with a blank face, devoid of any interest. Seeing this, Caroline got a bit shocked. She had never expected someone not to be interested in him, much less a guy.

' Is he gay or something?' she wondered.

' No way!'
