CHAPTER 13

Full of pride, Robi took his wife with him to Wijaya's big house, telling him the happy news he had been waiting for.

Amelia stared blankly at the vast sky, everything that happened seemed to be painted there. The sun that shone so brightly seemed to mock her who was restless.

All of that is inversely proportional to what Robi is feeling now, the world seems to congratulate him who is happy. Unfortunately, Amelia couldn't handle that happiness because all this happiness was just a fake.

"Mommy must be happy, Mel."

"A-ah, yes Robi ...."

"What are you doing? Still nauseous?"

"A little, Bi."

"Want to stop first?"

"No need, Bi. It will be noon if you stop."

"Okay, let's continue first. If you want to throw up, say it and let I'll stop."

"Okay."

Robi drove back his car through the heavy traffic. Amelia felt guilty seeing Robi who was so concerned about her and the baby.

From the bottom of her heart, she admits that Robi is a kind man who cares so much, but Amelia herself doesn't realize why her love for Robi can erode.

She remembers very well how much love she had for the savior of her life—Robi Wijaya. Still, strangely since that man broke into her, all that love was eroded and left a feeling of compassion.

Love and obsession have merged into one, even her view on these two things is wrong. Amelia fell into the trap of lust, eroding her senses to think correctly.

***

Arriving at Wijaya's big house, Robi immediately met Mayang in her office. He deliberately didn't tell his beforehand so that it would be a perfect surprise—he thought.

A personal servant of Mayang leads them in because even though Robi is her son, Mayang still maintains her privacy in the study.

"Madam, Young Master and Miss came to visit."

Mayang, who was busy with her work, immediately stopped. "Robi?"

"That's right, madam."

"Tell them to wait in my break room, I'll catch up later."

"Very well, madam."

The waiter immediately left the room, then returned to Robi, waiting expectantly.

"Madam said let's wait in the break room, sir."

"Mommy is still stiff like that," Robi muttered.

"Why, Robi?"

"Mommy, she's the most secretive about her study. Well, we'll wait in the break room."

"Please, sir, miss."

Although she had lived for a while at Wijaya's house, Amelia herself did not know all the rooms in this house. Apart from the fact that this house is too big and spacious, it is also because she is afraid of having to run into Mayang or Yustina.

Mayang's break room is much bigger than hers, I don't know what this big room is for— Amelia thought.

"I will prepare tea and snacks. Please enjoy your time, sir."

"Thank you, Mr. Cakra."

The maid walked away, leaving Robi and Amelia waiting. There are many musical instruments and other works of art, but what caught Amelia's attention was a classic Grand Piano which was left outdated but instead added to the artistic value of the object.

This was the first time she had entered the particular break room for her mother-in-law because she seemed to be isolated every time regarding matters concerning the Wijaya family. The world is too narrow in this house, even though the area of this magnificent house is ten times larger than her current house.

"Mommy likes musical instruments," whispered Robi as if he knew Amelia's curiosity.

"Ah ... I see."

Not long after, the waiter named Cakra returned with another waiter who brought snacks and tea, followed by Mayang who had just finished her work.

"I don't need it, Mr. Cakra," she said when her servant was about to pour tea for her.

After they finished serving the tea, the maids walked away. The atmosphere suddenly froze because they were engrossed in each other's thoughts.

"Hmm ... what's wrong?" Mayang asked, breaking the silence.

Robi took out a box containing a test pack and a letter stating Amelia's pregnancy. "This is for Mommy."

Mayang looked at the box in surprise, then grabbed it. "What's this?"

"Just open it, Mom."

Mayang immediately opened the city. How surprised she was when she saw the two objects there, she turned to look at her son and daughter-in-law many times.

"I-is this true?"

"Yes, Mam ... Congrats, Mommy is going to be a Grandma."

Mayang, usually stiff and cold, immediately rushed to her son and daughter-in-law.

Amelia, of course, felt sad, even though she should be happy because she had been waiting for her mother-in-law's warm embrace. If the kid were Robi's son, maybe she wouldn't feel as bad as now.

"Thank you, honey," Mayang said as she kissed her son's forehead, then turned to look at her daughter-in-law who she had been ignoring. "Thank you so much, Mel."

It is just a simple word, but it can make Amelia feel even more guilty toward Robi and Mayang. For a moment, her heart was touched, she hoped this wasn't an illusion and felt like going back to when she still kept her pure love for Robi.

"T-this, have you guys checked?"

"Amel has gone to a regular doctor, Mam."

"But healthy, right?"

"Yes, Mam ... very healthy," answered Amelia with a wry smile.

"You'd better move back into this house so that Amelia can be more awake."

Amelia had expected this to happen, that's why she had made a plan to refuse the request.

"No need, Mom."

"But, Robi ... pregnant women are vulnerable, you know. Your house is too small, the air circulation must not be good."

"If Mommy is worried about that, Robi and Amelia are planning to move to a much bigger house, aren't they?"

"Really?"

"Yes, Mam ... Amelia has even chosen our new place to live later. Honey, let me see Mommy's house."

Amelia took out leaflets containing photos of the house and plans and others. Mayang tried to look carefully, she made sure the place was suitable for her grandson.

"It's great, not too close to the road and also the house is much bigger."

"Yes, isn't it, Mam? Robi also agrees," Robi interrupted.

"As a gift from Mommy, let Mommy buy this house for you."

"N-no, Mam ...," Amelia interrupted.

"It's okay, I'll let Michelle prepare the money. You guys move quickly. Mommy will help you fill out the furniture for your new house."

Robi was moved, finally seeing Mayang and Amelia getting along. On the other hand, Amelia jumped for joy because she managed to get something she expected from Mayang.

"Later, Mommy will find some maids for you, just stop my old maid, Bi."

Amelia choked, Narsih couldn't leave her side because the older woman already knew too much information.

"Don't, Bi. Mrs. Narsih already thinks this is her own, Amel even intends to make her the foster mother of our child."

"Mommy can find a professional Baby Sitter, but if that's what you want, that's up to you."

Amelia could breathe a sigh of relief, at least she could keep an eye on Narsih by her side.

"For the waiter, Amel has also contacted the labor distribution staff, Mam," said Robi.

"Ah ... apparently, you have managed it well. Here, Mel ... Mommy wants to say hello to my favorite grandson."

Mayang gently stroked Amelia's stomach which was starting to protrude, occasionally she smiled and showed an expression that she had never revealed to her daughter-in-law.

If I had acted honestly for this happiness, maybe things would have a lot more meaning—she thought.
