Taking the Male Lead Away

Just as someone's hand was reaching into the cage, another hand caught it with frightening strength. 

Su Ye chuckled, her eyes sharp as she sneered, "Did you forget? I bought him." She swiftly tripped the man and knocked him to the ground. From outside the cage, Su Ye locked gazes with Su Qing.

Her spine stiffened for an instant.

She suddenly remembered a rather important event—around this period, the grudge curse in Su Qing's body had triggered, fully sealing his cultivation. That was what had led to Su Ruoruo saving him in three months, as what was written in the book.

In other words, he was absolutely incapable of defending himself right now.

Su Ye had actually been quite far from the auction stage just now, but ended up turning back since she kept hearing those lecherous voices and disgusting laughter behind her.

The steel cage was soon opened.

Beside them, the auctioneer dutifully fawned over Su Ye. "You've got good taste, milady! This is the first time I encountered such magnificence—"

Before he could finish, Su Ye was already inside the cage. Seeing that Su Qing's legs were cuffed, she asked, "Can you walk by yourself?"

Su Qing watched as she climbed in, his Adam's Apple bobbing as he answered hoarsely, "Hmm?"

Before he could finish, Su Ye took out a clean handkerchief from her sleeve and covered his eyes. There was no helping it—she became extremely nervous every time their eyes met. Once she had covered his eyes, the nervousness disappeared. 

Breathing a sigh of relief, she murmured, "I'm taking you away." Su Ye grabbed the black cloth that had been covering the cage to cover his body, then picked him up and carried him out of the cage without looking back.

A servant walked ahead of them, leading the way.

None of the organizers were afraid of Su Ye trying to renege on her payment—she was the junior governor after all, and Mystic Moon City would not run away, even if she could.

As Su Ye carried Su Qing, his red outer robe slipped down his shoulder slightly, drawing more degenerate comments.

"That man's looks are simply marvelous..."

"What's the rush? We have all the chance we need in the future…"

A chorus of laughter could be heard after that.

Meanwhile, Su Ye hurried forward, climbing the stairs up to the second floor, out of earshot of those behind her. Though Su Qing appeared scrawny, he was still broader than her, not to mention that she only reached his shoulders in height. As such, carrying him meant that she could not see anything in front of her, and she stumbled from time to time.

Through it all, Su Qing leaned on her, and a fragrant aroma struck his nose once more. Since his eyes were covered by her handkerchief, his expression was unclear.

Su Ye pushed open a door, and entered an opulent room decorated entirely in red. She had leaned down to put Su Qing on the bed when he moved closer to her neck, sniffing as hard as he could. Their positions were very intimate, but Su Ye paid it no heed at all.

After lowering him onto the bed, Su Ye stared at the shackles on his legs. Mulling over it for a moment, she grasped them with a bit of force, and they broke in her hands. When she had gotten rid of the shackles, she looked up at him.

Su Qing had not taken off the white handkerchief wrapped around his eyes. With those red robes and their positions inside the room, it was really as if they were having their bridal night.

As that thought crossed Su Ye's mind, she cleared her throat awkwardly.

Su Qing's complexion was paler than before. The poison in his body had probably been triggered again.
