The Lone Princess
After saving enough money, A-Qiao bought himself a bow and a quiver of arrows. The shop owner was kind enough to teach him how to make his own arrows for hunting. As thanks, A-Qiao gave him the wild hares that he caught that morning. The young man's eyes gleamed with excitement as he held his new bow in his hands and walked into the forest. He had been hunting with spears for some time now and his aim was good, but he often had to get too close to the target to throw the spear. The more agile targets would get frightened and quickly run away before he even lifted his spear. By using a bow, A-Qiao could widen his hunting scope to include, among others, birds and deers.
Xiao Yue watched as A-Qiao put the arrow in place, pull his bow and release it at a target some distance away on top of a tree. Xiao Yue did not see what it was, but it dropped to the ground not long after, followed by a shrieking sound. Judging from the high pitch, it was either a child or a girl. Or both.
