CHAPTER 2

"Mum, don't pressurize me, please!! You can leave." I said standing up, I reached for the door. " I think you have overstayed your welcome." I looked down at her.

" So you're being rude to me cause I asked you to get married soon." She sat there looking at me.

"I told you so many times without number, don't force me mother, you always wanted a successful daughter and that's what I'm working on, now another demand, please just leave me alone and one step is leaving my house." I said pointing to the hallway. "Leave."

"How would you even talk to me in such a manner?"

"Well, I'm sorry if I was disrespectful in your words, but mum please day and night you're always talking about marriage, I'm the most stressed person in this situation. It's just best if you leave me."

She stood up carrying her Birkin bag, she looked at me with disappointment and left my room. I smashed my door immediately and she left. Must she always be on my nerves, she irritates me. Urgggh!!! I said smashing my lamp at my bedroom window. She was just so annoying. I tied my hair in a bun while ringing my bell , waiting for one of my maids to appear here.

After several ringing I heard on the door, while the maid entered, she looked at the broken vase in front of my window. "Clean it up." I said to her, She picked up the pieces of glass I broke and walked out.

The stage of life when you hit your early 20's is such a devastating era in a person's life. All the responsibility is on you and all your parents do is stress you. Trying to build my empire and my mum just randomly brings up the issue of marriage. Thinking of marriage is something scary, never even dating a guy, nor kissed.

I had a quick shower and changed into comfortable nightwear as I climbed my bed. I couldn't even sleep. Who was I deceiving? Certainly not myself, thoughts kept on creaking up in my head. Running one of the biggest Tech companies in Colorado, especially with the degrading rate of the economy. Why I'm I even thinking this now, I gotta wake up early tomorrow. I closed my eyes and started saying my rhymes one sheep, two sheep...

The bright ray of the sun peeked on my face as I faced up looking at the ceiling overthinking over again, I was distracted by the sound of my loud alarm riiiiiiiiiiiinnnnng!! I hissed, throwing down the alarm clock on the floor. I was already awake by 4:30 Wondering how I was gonna divide myself. I even needed to attend a ball party tomorrow. I haven't gotten a dress. I swung my legs off my bed and got into my robe. Did my normal routine, went to the gym and had a quick shower then did my skin care. Today, I was thinking about going with a pink suit. I wanna give that Barbie look. I wore my black Louis Vuitton heels and paired it with a dashing black Fendi bag and a lot of accessories. I looked at myself in the mirror once again before I drained myself in my perfume. Grabbed my black coat and a hat and walked out of my room with my car keys.

I walked straight to the kitchen to see my breakfast ready, a healthy sandwich, finished my breakfast and tossed my room keys to my head maid. Going with the pink theme of the day, I was gonna go with my pink Porsche, got in and began my journey to work. Got to my office and I was greeted with a bad crisis.

One of the key software engineers resigned today, I immediately called a meeting with my team to resolve the issue, certainly it wasn't because of salary, these people get paid millions monthly so what was the matter? Panicking wasn't the best solution right now. After my heated conversation we came to a conclusion on how to share the responsibility and find a replacement, at least the issue was solved for a temporary time.

My schedule was full as well as the files on my desk. I stood looking at the files hipping up on my desk. My success has been the cost of living for me. I always got so attached to work that I didn't have any space to think about any relationship nor anything concerning my love life. Missed a lot of family dinners, and quality times with my friends. After sorting out the files on my desk, I had to leave for my conference.

I finished with my presentation and left the conference room immediately. It was already late. It was 5 and I had the ball by 7. I ordered a black ball gown to be delivered to me immediately. I got my keys and left the office.

After several hours of preparation I was done. I styled my hair and just wore lipstick, it was already time for my ride as I looked downstairs through my window looking at the limo waiting for me. Finally I arrived at the large hall, certainly I was the best dressed cause who can out beat me, I chuckled in my head.

"Hi, grace!" Someone behind me said excitedly. I turned to see it was Dallas

"Omg Dallas it's a privilege meeting you." I smiled so prominently.

"How are you??" Dallas asking looking at me with his icy cold eyes

"I'm alright. Just tired as always."

"You should have rested tonight's gonna be a long one."

The mc grabbed the mic and announced to everyone that the princess was gonna be done soon. I grabbed a glass of wine and gazed at the stars, they were so beautiful I approached the balcony and stood there watching the stars.

"The sky is beautiful right?" someone said behind me, this voice wasn't familiar I turned to see who it was. A set of blue angelic eyes stared down at me. It was something I have never seen, maybe someone I have never met. His beautiful face was just too catchy, his sharp jawline line with the mustache and connected beards combo. "Amazed?" He asked, snapping at me softly.

"The sky is certainly pretty, I wasn't amazed though." I said adjusting my dress

He nodded, "You look more of a challenging girl." He chuckled

"You look lovely."

"Thank you gentlemen" I said trying to hide the little blush that formed on my face, I bowed down trying so hard to cover it.

"Save yourself the stress my lady, I'm Raymond." He said, holding out his hands.

"I'm grace." I said with a bright smile.
