Chapter 61

Summer added a few pieces of firewood to the stove, watching the flames leap up. She casually asked Logan, "Why did you oversleep today?"

Logan, usually an early riser, had only just emerged from his dorm after Summer had finished getting ready.

"Just didn't sleep well," Logan replied nonchalantly.

Curious, Summer turned to him. "Do you have something on your mind?"

Logan glanced at her. "You're quite curious, aren't you?"

Summer smiled playfully. "I am indeed curious. Someone as tough as you, what could keep you up at night?"

Logan hesitated before whispering, "Last night... in the woods, I saw Henry and Sophia... kissing..."

Summer was momentarily stunned. Not that she thought it impossible, but hearing gossip from Logan was unexpected. And it didn't seem like something that would affect him.

After a pause, Summer lifted her head and looked at Logan with pure curiosity. "So... do you like Sophia too?"

Logan was at a loss for words.

Was this her expected response to such news?

Suddenly, the conversation seemed less amusing.

He pushed her head away gently, trying to drop the subject.

Undeterred, Summer brought her head back, still looking at him with the same earnestness. "Could it be... you like Henry instead?"

Logan sighed inwardly, trying again to push her away.

This time, Summer didn't press further. She added more wood to the stove, suppressing a laugh. She knew Logan was trying to tease her.

Thinking about Logan's reaction when she asked if he liked Henry, Summer couldn't help but smile. Eventually, she burst into laughter.

Logan couldn't take it anymore. "Are you asking for a smack?"

Summer immediately bit her lip, stifling her laughter and shaking her head.

Finally relaxing, she looked at him seriously. "So, what's really bothering you? Are you jealous of Henry? He has plenty of girls chasing him, and you... not even one?"
