52 Plant King's revival

In Raya city, a large building was subjected to great chaos. If one walked in through the broken gate, they'd see people lying here and there, groaning in pain. All these people were adventurers. Many of them were somewhat famous in the city for their strength. However, they had all been thrashed badly by Xiao who was still rampaging inside the building.

"Where are my children?" Xiao asked a man who was struggling to breathe as his throat was tightly clenched in Xiao's grasp. Also they might encounter people, pass by several cities and thus find several distractions. They were already several months too late in rescuing Xiao. Wind wanted to spare no more time in any distractions. Under the ground they moved unhindered peacefully.

"Master I sense something odd." Lan suddenly said and slowed down before stopping. The others stopped as well.

"Yes I see it." Wind said. He had been using the 10000 li sight continuously to keep the group heading in the right direction.

"What is it?" Saiyu asked while Hei frowned. Hei had scouting techniques and could perceive the issue to some degree.

"There are large amounts of chi mixed into the ground." Lan answered.

"Several hectares of forest land have been burned down to ashes." Wind said as he observed.

"Oh?" Saiyu was stunned. "There must have been a battle here."

"Most likely." Hei uttered with a frown. "We should move away speedily."

"I see no living being in a thousand li diameter around us." Wind said. He had obviously advanced further in his observational support type technique. "The battle is already over. It's probably been a day. No need to move around. Let's keep going straight."

"Master I sense a source of wood element energy." Lan then said. Her technique not only allowed her to dig the earth, it also allowed her to sense the energies mixed in the soil to some degree.

"Oh? Is it an elemental stone?" Wind asked while trying to look for this source.

"I cannot say for sure." Lan said. "It's not far from here."

"What do you want to do?" Hei asked Wind. They had been evading distractions but a source of wood element energy was a rare treasure to overlook. They were all in need of more power. This source could help them grow.

"We'll take the risk." Wind said. "Lan, guide us to the source."

Immediately the group moved again, reaching the source which was above the ground. Then Lan dug a way out to reach the surface. What they saw before them was a charred black tree trunk, turned into coal.

"This is the source?" Wind frowned. "It's a burnt down tree. Sigh. It must have had quite some origin to possess such amount of remnant energy."

"Odd, we cannot sense it." Hei said.

"Me either but the soil around this tree is rich in wood element energy for sure." Lan said.

Wind meanwhile squatted down to observe the tree trunk closely. He used 10000 li sight but couldn't see anything peculiar about it. Next, he tapped and scratched the trunk as a probe. He discovered nothing. But suddenly an idea came to him.

"Lan, infuse your earth element energy into it." He said.

Lan nodded and squatted down beside him, placing her palm on the tree and started pouring out large amounts of her chi which contained the earth element energy in it.

"I see. You're reviving the tree!" Hei exclaimed.

"Master I cannot go on." Lan said while panting.

"It's ok, you did well." Wind patted her shoulder. "We'll take the whole trunk for now and try again later." Saying so, he gestured towards the tree trunk to suck it into his spatial ring. However, he suddenly stopped, noticing a change in the trunk. On its charred bark, a tiny sapling had grown.

"…" Hei was the first to be moved by these words. He glanced at Wind.

"Then tell me, where is my mother Xiao?" Wind asked. "How many troops does Koldorus have inside the Carny castle? What security arrangements are there? Tell us everything."

Plant King smiled. "You're Xiao's son huh?" He hadn't seen Wind before, but he figured it out through Wind's questions.
