41 The dainty little girl.

Elder Wan Mingyu was someone who Xie Ra held dearly in his heart. He felt pain for hiding the truth from him. He wondered whether his real name rang an alarm in the elder.

However, his name wasn't a unique one so, maybe not. Xie Ra felt sad when thinking that everyone just moved on with their life after his death.

It's life, right?

When you die, your loved ones break down with bitterness. They weep on your behalf and give you a proper burial. Surely, they would cherish you in their hearts. But, eventually, they will move on with their lives.

Somehow, Xie Ra didn't even have a proper burial. If he didn't revive, nobody would search for his corpse. It would turn into a lone skeleton inside a small cave in Yulong.

But, he couldn't blame others. Xie Ra hid his destination before going into the seclusion in his past life for his protection. He didn't know that he was poisoned by then. The ones who truly cared about him might've guessed that he was hiding somewhere, living a new life peacefully.

He was indeed living a new life but, his mind was far from peace. He couldn't forgive his enemies. He had to work hard to earn his status back so he could take his sweet revenge.

"Xie Xiong, Xie Xiong, are you busy right now?"

Xie Ra recognized the voice that was calling him.

"Oh, Wu Jian, what happened to your case?"

"I won. They punished that pervert by sending him for guarded seclusion."

"Haha. Pain. For how long?"

"Two years. Serves him right."

Xie Ra nodded. Indeed it was a worthy punishment. Sending on forceful seclusion for two years was a nightmare among sect disciples. It seemed like Wu Jian got justice, even after three days of trial.

Yeah. Sects just don't take someone's allegation as the verification to give their final judgments. They search for eyewitnesses.

When would Xie Ra get his justice?

Xie Ra shook his head. He was too emotional today. It seemed as if elder Wan Mingyu brought back his past life memories to the surface. He needs a distraction. He stood up.

"Wu Jian, I'm going to walk in the city for a bit. If my crew searches for me, tell them I'll be back before it's too late." Wu Jian nodded.

"Sure, I will if they ask me."

"Thank you." With that note, Xie Ra walked towards the entrance gate to head for the main distraction he could have at this moment. Tang Zihao's workplace.

"Oh, Xie Ra, right? What are you doing here? Did something happen?" A quizzical look was imprinted on Tang Zihao's face. Xie Ra smiled.

"Nah, some stuff happened. I needed a distraction. I thought I should finish looking at the equipment cupboards."

"Yeah, my colleagues told me that you were here a few days ago."

It was Xie Ra's time to look with a puzzled face. "What? I didn't even talk with them. How did they know that I'm your friend?"

"Fool," He chuckled. "They didn't tell me that. They just described you. It's not like they see a white-haired cultivator every day."

At that moment he felt annoyed with his look. He wouldn't be able to investigate at this rate. Xie Ra promised himself that he would hide his hair before going on a secret mission someday.

"Okay then. Enjoy watching the artifacts, partner. Or you can watch me crafting. If you want to watch, welcome anytime." Tang Zihao smirked and went back to work.

Xie Ra thought the second option was better for now. He was bored. And he could learn more about Tang Zihao if he lurks around his vicinity.

The fire demon was indeed a gifted craftsman. It was pleasant to watch how he transformed a blob of liquid metal into a beautiful, magical bracelet. The way he designed fine thread of flowers was impressive. Xie Ra watched him with awe.

"Gege, gege, I'm here."

A small girly voice echoed in the hallway which led into the forging room. Within a few minutes, a small banging was heard from the closed door. To Xie Ra's surprise, a delicate smile colored the fire demon's face. So, he could smile like that too?

"Come in, Tang Niu. The door is open. Be careful when you open it." His face looked worried. So, Xie Ra quickly reached the door and opened it.

A small girl who put her hair in two small pigtails stood at the doorway. She was so small and barely reached Xie Ra's hip level. Her small delicate hands hugged a small worn-out doll.

Her big golden-brown eyes, which looked exactly like Tang Zihao's eyes, widened when she saw Xie Ra. She took a step back. Xie Ra worried that he might've scared this dainty little child. He kneeled to reach her eye level and tried to talk to her.

But, what she did next wasn't something Xie Ra expected. She ran through the gap between Xie Ra and the wall, towards Tang Zihao and hid behind him.

Xie Ra couldn't help but laugh at this cute reaction. She seemed to crawl more and more inside Tang Zihao's outer robe from shame. Tang Zihao patted her head lovingly.

"Don't be scared little munchkins. He is my friend. You can call him Xie ge. Xie Ra, this is my dear little munchkin, Tang Niu."

A very helpful way to introduce someone. Xie Ra was confused. So he asked, "your daughter?"

"Hey, I'm an unmarried man. Don't try to marry me off yet." He replied dramatically. Xie Ra was sure, it was to make the little girl smile. His tactic worked well. The little one giggled.

"This princess is my only beloved little sister." Tang Zihao replied affectionately. Then, he picked her up and held her in his arms. Then he grabbed the artifact which he just finished creating from a long holder and threw it into a cool basin of water.

"Okay munchkins, go out. I will follow you." The little girl ran out fast while giggling.

Then he turned to Xie Ra.

"Well, I didn't intend to show you my little sister yet. But, I didn't expect her to visit me. I hope you won't be a threat to my sister or, believe me. Nobody will find your corpse for a long time." He said sternly.

Xie Ra nodded. He didn't feel mad. He knew well about these brotherly instincts.

Because he had two sisters of his own to protect in his past life.
