Chapter Twenty-Three

Eventually Becca showed him the rest of the house, including the bedroom next to hers that her parents had made up for him. He did seem a little put out by that, but she'd warned him before they'd gotten here, so as far as she was concerned he just had to suck it up. Besides it was only for three nights. 

Mrs. Swindell had made them a big dinner, almost as if she was trying to make up for the conversation with her daughter on the phone before they'd arrived. As they ate, they went over their itinerary for their stay, as they only had 2.5 days before the flight back to San Antonio on New Year's Eve.
