Jeong Sa-ook was completely unprepared for this. Backpack slung over his shoulder and a dark expression on his face, he begrudgingly went to school.
Sa-ook had completely forgotten that his body was still 17, and when he tried going to Red Goose's HQ today, he was stopped by his mother who simply scolded him for trying to skip school. Sa-ook didn't have a convincing excuse, hence why he's now going back to school.
Sa-ook felt mildly confused while he walked down the halls, noticing people giving him angry and somewhat aggressive glares. Sa-ook hadn't revealed he was even a runeswielder yet, why did everyone seem to hostile? He felt kinda pissed but brushed it off as petty teenage drama. As he walked through the halls he was stopped by someone he found vaguely familiar.
He tried to place his name, but couldn't think of anything. Sa-ook decided that if he didn't remember the name of the kid, it didn't matter. It's not like he'd benefit anyways, befriending brats. The kid seemed to be in the same grade as Sa-ook and had shitty bleached hair. Sa-ook almost felt bad. The kid, although familiar to Sa-ook didn't seem to be too friendly. Sa-ook couldn't help but feel confused, he didn't remember any of this.
The boy grabbed Sa-ook by the collar, (of course Sa-ook saw that from a mile away, but he didn't fell bothered to dodge such a flimsy attack, mostly out of curiosity.) What exactly had happened in his teenage years? Jeong Sa-ook didn't remember much, maybe he had some repressed memories? Repressed why? Of what?
The boy snarled angrily at Sa-ook.
"Hey shitthead, where the fuck did you go yesterday? Do you not remember our agreement?" He shouts.
'Agreement? How interesting.'
Sa-ook tilts his head. "Ah, who are you again?" He asks in a polite smile. The boy grips the shirt harder.
"BASTARD! You did it on purpose didn't you? You're just begging for a beating huh?" He says, raising his fist, though before Sa-ook decides what to do, they both are interrupted. "DAE-HO! STOP!" A pretty girl angrily shouts.
She gives Sa-ook a pitiful side glance before looking back at Dae-ho. "What are you doing?!" She says, as Dae-Ho slowly loosens his grip on Sa-ook's shirt.
"I'm just teaching this fucker a lesson after he flaked. What's it to you? Still defending this weirdo?" He says, mildly pissed but clearly compliant. Sa-ook blankly looks between the two.
"I don't care what he did you can't just go beating him for every small thing!" The girl says, grabbing Sa-ook's wrist and angrily dragging him along as she led them away. Sa-ook didn't feel bothered to tell her that he had no fucking clue who she is or what her name could be. He kinda just nodded and followed along, she seemed to lead him to his class.
Sa-ook didn't say a word to her as she very abrasively reaffirms Sa-ook's abnormally okay condition.
"Are you okay?" She asks, worry in her eyes.
'???'
'Why do you care'
Sa-ook so desperately wanted to say, but held himself back. He just shrugged. "Yea." He says, disinterest seeping through his voice. Her worry only got worse.
"Are you sure? You're acting weird…" She says. Sa-ook kinda just nods his head, giving two very out-of-place thumbs up.
'This is how youngsters communicate, right?'
The girl looks completely dumbfounded. "Sa-ook wh—"
Sa-ook turns around and grabs a seat somewhere as the teacher enters the room. Before the girl can interrogate him further, class starts. And unsurprisingly, the boy from earlier (Dae-ho or whatever his name was) shows up 15 minutes late, a small cut on his lip and glaring at Jeong Sa-ook, before returning to his seat he stops behind Sa-ook.
"Rooftop, Lunch. You better fucking show up this time."
He whispers angrily before fucking off to his seat.
